Companies and the like have found that a click is a click and a comment is a comment and that finding content that a lot of people don't like is much easier than finding content that people do like. So now a lot of attention goes to mediocre or even bad types of content and takes away even more of the spotlight of people who do try really hard. And while nobody deserves succes, it does feel quite unfair when so many people who try really hard for a long time dont find much succes but it basically falls into the lap of another pretty girl who makes a random comment. Because if succes really is random, why bother trying at all?
It's taken me a lot of failure to realize this but as a creative if you only chase success for the sake of success you will get burnt out when you see how unfair the system is, but if you make something that you are proud of and you enjoy then you have already succeeded champ. Bad content can be hard to make. The Hawk Tuah girl is one of hundreds of global memes, many of whom tried (and failed) to turn it into profits. She had luck, sure, but the same can be said of content you call "good" (whatever your metric is), and there's surely people out there that think it still represents our failure as a civilisation. It's all content, after all.
I think it's worth noting that a large number of people who found it funny, and consequently shared it as a co-worker meme, genuinely thought that the idea of someone "spitting on that thing" was outrageous and hence humourous. Their thoughts are along the lines of "who would do that?" or "what a crazy thing to do!".

Phones record active screen time, facial attention, screen orientation, dwell time, app switching, repeated focus, screenshots, sharing, audible response, facial response, etc. Not only does the “algorithm” measure the audiences willingness to view something. It records and turns their actual reaction into tangible data.

It’s pretty much the cost of being connected in modern times (on top of your bill…) Older phones aren’t “supported” because they don’t make passive income through user data. Best thing to do is practice mindfulness of how you use your phone and how often you actually need it to be attached to you. Physically putting your phone down for a bit every day limits it. I use mine out and about for necessary communication but tend to put it down when I get home and not touch it again unless I need to. Helps mentally as well.

My only encounter was seeing a bunch of teenagers wave the "HAWK TUAH 24 " flag at a certain outdoor political rally, and i figured it was a dumb conservative meme. I think the point to be made here is that people who aren't youtubers at all and have to bust their body at non-creative jobs full time could make the same argument about almost any UA-cam channel. Ultimately, there's a fundamental problem in the system. Both of people working full time and not making a living and of people getting way too much money from chance-based fame.
