I always carry matches with my Zippo a lesson I learned when I smoked serving in the National Guard in Iraq and Afghanistan. I rode from Minot, ND after my discharge from the USAF on a ridged HD chopper to Winchester, TN back in 1992, I took my time and camped with a tarp and two wool blankets. I ate many cans of Beanie Weenies, it the coolest thing and hard on the old butt. Two on the ground and face in the wind ride like you stole it.
salute from Indonesia, watching your video makes me want to rush my college and start my adventure with my partner, just like you! I can't wait for the next vid.🤩
Hey there, welcome! I loved my time in Indonesia when I visited years ago. Good luck on all your adventures. More vids coming soon. Thanks for watching and for the great comment.
Hey Ray, thanks so much. It will be a few weeks until the next one as some things have come up, but plans for lots more soon to come. Thanks a lot for watching.
I'm out of portland so to see some of the areas I'm familiar with is super cool. I'm going to start moto camping this upcomming year, new to this style of camping. Keep the rubber down!
Thanks so much! We can't wait to get back out there when the snow melts. Exciting that you are going to try out moto camping this year too. Its a great way to spend a weekend for sure. Thanks for watching!
I love the Ellensburg canyon… on the way to Yakivegas! I went to college in E-burg, and flyfished the river all the time. What did I learn? Fishing beats ‘Accounting’ anytime! Now I’m retired, and looking back, I had some great times at school, and in and around the area. I plan on riding back up to Seattle in July to see my brother. It’s 500 miles and a long sore ass day, but he has a roof and a comfortable bed. I’ll ride back over Chinook Pass, down thhe backroads of the Yakima Valley, over to Pendleton, and camp up on the Blues somewhere. Not really having a plan, is the plan. Ride safe, and free. P.S. And fix your ‘speedo!’ Riding an older bike is fine, but make sure it’ll get you there safely. Cool? Cool!
We love Canyon Road and the Ellensburg area. Hoping to do the Chinook pass this next year as well, sounds like its great for bikes! Speedo is offically working again too. Should be a great riding season!
That Harley is hereby nicknamed The Beast. (Wish I could have heard it instead of the music.). Great video. Brought a smile to my face. I always have a few extra BIC lighters around. Theyre cheap, small & reliable. haha
Great Adventure. Love the drive down Canyon Road. I would do it in my Truck; prefer a big vehicle on the highway; even though a little more expensive gas wise. LOL. Keep up the great adventures and videos.
A truck I can understand, would love one of those. Our neighbor at the campsite there had the right idea too with the tent on the box of his Tacoma. Maybe one day haha. Thanks a lot for your support.
@@joymachinetheshow I have a Chevy Silverado Trail Boss; so it is great for highway cruising and a little off roading. Of course it is hard to compare with cruising along on a motorcycle in the open fresh country air on the open highway.
do a video on your bike cause it looks and sounds great besides the speedometer... I'm also a Washington resident and love what you guys are doing. Keep the videos coming.
Hey, I'm enjoying the videos so far. If you string up a tarp over your tent our have the tent under something you won't get dew in the morning. Helps with packing up too, don't have to wait for gear to dry out
Just discovered your channel the other day (the episode where you tried to help the guy on the vintage bike near Seattle) So went back to S1 E1 & subscribed. Enjoying your content - love the bike. Cool old school trippin' & camping! Cheers from north of 49.
Beautiful scenery. I’d never get bored riding there. Lots of trial and error. I really liked your improvisation with the fuel. Next time more lighters, more wood, more warm clothes and I’d put a windshield on that bike. Stay safe.
such an awesome video my friend! I have one comment though: enjoyed it more when you didn't put any soundtrack to the riding, when it was just the sound of the motorcycle and the wind! keep em videos coming, love it!
Hey thanks for the kind words and helpful feedback. I agree with you. I was hesitant to put music in the first place but thought it might have been better than wind noise. I will go back to just bike in this next one and those after im sure. Thanks again for the positivity. Cheers.
Great effort ya’ll! It would be better with a speedometer that works. It makes me wonder what else doesn’t work on the bike? (SAFETY INSPECTION)! Some video from the side of you on the bike, different cutaway shots would help. Keep going, this could be interesting.
why is your right mirror lower than your left? when it gets to 50 degrees that's about the limit for me. I have camped when it's a little colder but it wasn't fun.
@@maxwellheintz2391 Thank you, I did customize it by chopping the rear fender and lowering it some. It has a custom seat and the switches are internally wired in the new bars and maybe a few other things.
@@kulturamoto3302 It is a lever that initiates contact through a button directly on the solenoid that starts the bike when pressed. A company called Prism Supply made the mount that I then made a lever for using 3/8 pipe, a bender and a handle off an old Stanley punch tool of some kind. Ill try to explain more in one of the upcoming videos.

Sick, I like choppers. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
I have never seen such cool people as you two. Nothing seems to bother you, not even a dry lighter.😁
Love everything about you two, your relationship, minimalism , and the bike. don't change it up too fast, keep it real . Love to you both.
Thanks a lot David for the great comment. I really appreciate the positivity! All the best to you!
your relationship is very good, I'm jealous to see it's really compact and your trip with the motorbike I like this video, you guys are great

The NeverEnding Motorcycle Camping Story !!! 👍👍 Your Bike Is Your Flying Dog !!! ❤️
White Bat Audio supplied the tunes. Thanks for the awesome comment.
The ‘80s-style synth soundtrack is pretty excellent, IMHO
Really enjoying your adventures!
loved it!
Hey thanks that means a lot.
It's been many decades but when a lighter was running low on fluid we would open it up and blow on the bottom to force the fluid to the top.
Good tip - I'll remember that!
Hey The Avett Brothers, NC band that Iv been obsessed over for about 15+ years. They are huge nowadays. Anyways cool videos 😎👍🇺🇸🦅
Thanks for watching and the comments.
Drive that Canyon often . safe travels

Welcome to the channel! We agree, you can take anything you have and get out on the road. Cheers!

I love that the speedo is always pegged on zero! Ha!

What model Harley is that , heritage?
And what year?, sounds great
Hey thanks, it is a 1999 FLSTC (softail classic), last year of the evolution motor.
It would drive me bananas not knowing what speed I was doing.
We fixed it eventually haha
Отличное приключение) Что за рычаг установлен на вашем evo под баком для масла?
Its a starter lever made by Prism Supply. Thanks for watching!
Different placement of your gopro people need to see the scenery. Although your just getting started it gets better. We understand this.
Yes agreed.
Great videos so far. Who makes those hand controls? They are real cool!
a Japanese company called POSH makes the switches. Thanks for watching,
What bike are you guys driving? Cheers from Denmark
Hey, what year and model is ur bike? Looks awesome!
Hey Sean, thanks a lot. It is a 1999 Harley Davidson softail classic or FLSTC. It is the last year of the "evolution" motor.

why your speadometer is not working ,at what speed you usually do cruise.

Is that bike an evo or early twin cam.
Last year of the Evo, 1999. Thanks for watching!
What the front on your bike? Is that cloth?
It's a wool blanket for sleeping - our sleeping bags aren't great so need to supplement in the cold spring
How do you communicate with each other when riding at speed?
We use Sena communicators, they have little mic's and speakers that attach inside the helmet.
