Many thanks. There has been so much hype and conflicting reviews. Typically, I tend to trust the negative reviews more so than the positive in cases like these as they tend to be more real and honest. Your review was one of the better ones. Simple and effective. Bottomline the Stellar X2 appears to be a quality $200 mic. It's not the hype one tends to hear. Ashame that famous UA-cam Influencers seem to be a bit biased as your test shows the mic is not nearly as unique as they lead you to believe. Thanks again.
Actually, I hear a difference very clearly. The NT1A sounds way too thin and almost harsh-sounding. It sounds like its missing something especially when you get close up on it when compared to the X2. I was surprised by the noise floor, both of them seem very quiet. I did realize a flaw in your testing, the X2 has a higher output signal than the NT1A so its just picking up more background noise which is not noise floor.
You're right I probably should have balanced the volume levels. I'm going to do a follow up with acoustic guitar. That will have a lot more dynamic range that my speaking voice. I'll make sure to balance the dB levels on that video. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks for your video comparison. The Stellar X2 is entirely built in China but designed in California. I had an extended discussion with the development engineer at TZ. It would be $350 at a minimum if built in the US due to assembly labor associated with the PCBA. I think it sounds better than the NT1a. It actually is comparable to the NT1 (each of those has strengths and compromises - preference comes down to taste). For a first effort they did a good job, just too bad that people believe it is comparable to a Neumann. I have several Neumanns and it just isn’t competitive with those mics. Good Luck!
It is a great mic, is it a 4k mic probably not. however I think this is a good match up and its a competing price point. I like the X2 Better myself. Doubt I will ever own a U87... but if I do I'll have to compare just for giggles :)
Thank you for that test I have a Rode Nt1a but it’s not the greatest for my voice too bright ....I’m probably gonna get the stellar x2 ...sounds a little bit smoother 💪🏾💪🏾

I got my Stellar X2 off Amazon directly from Techzone. Another rash comment, the U87 is not a $4,000 mic, it's $3,200.

It really is a great microphone. I'm going to do a demo tomorrow of it vs the nt1a and an acoustic guitar
Finally ordered mines I’m so excited 🤣thank you again for your video review !
@@blurryfaseswayez9238 They are pretty sweet, I think you will love it!
TZ will send you free gear for lying about their junk mics but it's not worth your creditability unless you now don't have any. @@BeardedBluesDude
