And Mohammed did that for some 5 years (624 AD to 629 AD) when the Kaaba was a shrine dedicate to 360 pagan idol gods being worshipped there. So who was Mohammed’s allah who was happy to be worshipped as “the god” amongst 360 pagan idol gods? Remember the word “allah” only means “the god”.
We know Mohammed did his pilgrimage to the Kaaba just like the pagans did when all these idol gods were being worshipped there. We know that Mohammed walked around the Kaaba just like the pagan idol worshippers did. We know that Mohammed kissed the black stone just like the pagan idol worshippers did. And Mohammed attributed magical properties to the black stone just like the pagans did. And of course Mohammed never destroyed the Kaaba or the black stone both of which are symbols of idol god worship. So Mohammed did not destroy paganism, he actually practised it.

Honestly this is true. Whenever I went onto social media I would become sad and depressed because it seemed like everyone was living amazing lives and made me feel like I didn't have a good one. I finally deleted all my accounts. Honestly it has helped me become more focused on my goals and less worried about all the things I don't have.

I was just too concerned about the things that I don't have by seeing all the things others have

My daughter wearing hijab when she started her High School. I was surprised and happy as I never told her to do that. Now after 5 years mash Allah she is very happy still wearing hijab while going to her university in Auckland. One of my white friends did ask me though, if i had forced her to wear it. And I explained to him in a very calm manner no i didnt. It was her choice.

I have stopped following all the accounts which made me feel sad, envious or uncomfortable about my own life. Social medias can be a great and useful tool but they also set ridiculously high standards about everything : your weight, your skin, your natural beauty, your health, your house, your education, your marriage, and SO MUCH MORE... We would never let our children go on the internet without keeping an eye on what they see, because we KNOW how unhealthy it can be. We should do just the same for ourselves and know we have our own limits too.

This is very true. I was not eating healthy and lost a lot of weight. I had a reality check and realized Instagram was toxic!
Everyone here is talking about how bad social media is and how addictive it is, but no one is talking about the real issue which is not social media but ourselves. Social media is like a sword with two edges, it can build you or destroy you and it is up to us which one we choose. Letting it to destroy you is by using it for useless stuff and following fake people or using it to spread good vibes, benefit from it and many other positive things about it. And because the majority if not everyone is talking about how toxic it is and how it is good to delete it, then what about other sources too, even youtube is like social media when videos of fake people pop up in your feed so if we use this logic we shall not use the internet as a whole not just Instagram. Train ourselves to see the good in stuff and use that good for your own benefit. Jazakum Allahu khayran everyone.

Mashallah. Thank you sister. I was suffering myself for the past few months. And during Ramadhan I tried to reflect on myself. This really helps. I unfollowed them all and tried to focus on my own well-being and on my own goals. Most of the sisters of my age that are recently married like to flaunt their love life and wealth. Which makes me feel like "where is my piece?" and had depression. I couldn't feel content of what I had. The 'live your life' saying is so stupid. I've got a driving license and many people tell me to stop being so reserved with my money and 'to live my life'. 'Get a car', I'm 20 years old and insurance is £3000 a year alone, why would I spend that when I don't need a car right now?
The truth is, I have happiness even with the little I spend, because I try my best not to be materialistic. I have everything I need and I don't like spending too much on luxuries because that's just feeds my ego and makes me more materialistic.

4- أن لا يكون مزينا يستدعي أنظار الرجال
5- أن لا يكون مطيّبا
6- أن لا يكون لباس شهرة
7- أن لا يُشبه لباس الرجال
8- أن لا يشبه لباس الكافرات
9- أن لا يكون فيه تصاليب ولا تصاوير لذوات الأرواح

I can tell you it has greatly improved my mental health when i stopped FB and instagram, some news that is posted on fb will get to me and that was taking stall on me being an emotional person so i decided to quit both and i have realized how many hours i used to spend on them it was like an obligation i put on my self if i didn't open them my day was not made.

Well said Masha Allah. I've been clean from social media and it's influences for maybe 2 years now and it feels good. Leaving social media is easy. Replacing the free time you now with something beneficial is the hard part. I've recently started a podcast.. hoping I don't get sucked into social media again.. in sha Allah.
I never let anyone influence me , there’s no such thing as influencer , what are we puppets? We need ppl to tell us how to live ? Astagfir Allah. I’ve seen a random comment on Kyle Jenners account, a girl was begging her to follow back because that was her biggest dream/ wish in life, I couldn’t believe it and felt sorry for that girl. Ppl worship ppl nowadays and aspire to be like someone they don’t know,is so sad.
I thank Allah every day for giving me a brain to think with.

Same I can't relate to being inspired and jealous of people online. I deactivated my FB because I was seeing too much of people's personal lives. It doesn't put me in a good state of mind. I still have IG though because it isn't so bad for me and I love looking at cute babies lol
prem goungen Jesus cannot be God if he was made by God. God cannot be created nor destroyed, Jesus supposedly died to crucification? How does God sacrifice himself for himself to save himself from himself? How does God beget a son, does God have sex, what is the need of it? Is that not of human characteristics. Christianity does not add up.

I unfollowed everyone that wasn't benefiting me a week ago and I'm happy!! Tbh they were making me angry, their lives are all about advertising so I was like I'm not obligated to watch them..
100% agreed!!!! Where is this youth going??? We are just doing compititions ,which is bringing not just negativity but damaging the positive and beautiful side of this youth.

I still use Facebook only for contact with family and old friends, and for groups with specific interests. I am not destroyed by Facebook, as I am not materialistic.

I never thought of it this way...actually sometimes it's not really easy to relate what our prophet pbuh said to our current lives simply because people's lives weren't that much accessible during his life. Totally agree with the sister. Social media only makes success in the akhirah a difficulty. It is also a cause of low feeling in the dunya too. Better to unfollow these social media celebrity personalities and sort ourselves out iA
