Mashaallah. After I found my self in early January, last months. This is sooo relatable. I take time so long everyday to think about my self, to find the true me. I like psychology so much so I tried to find my self in psychology way first. But there is always a time, I lost my balance. And then I come to think so deeply why this why that. Until I found what I search in some speech of Dr. Zakir Naik. I'm muslim born, five time prayer and full having fast of Ramadhan, but I still, haven't found my self before that. What my question is? Why am I being born? I hate my life used to be. Now I found it. I could accept the ayah that I know it since very young, but the logic, I just got it last January. Btw, I'm girls, 26. So I stressed bot money and marriage. This is relatable. Now, I do understand why I haven't married, bcos I need to fix my self. And Alhamdulillah, I found Mufti Menk. I need to get control of my anger now, I could learn so much from his speech. That's the biggest problem now in my self, bfore I really commit to married

Before you become someone's Husband/wife,become(find) yourself. Know your character,try to perfect,try to be the best you can. Don't take more responsibilities than you are supposed to. How can someone who doesn't even know themselves,who never had to deal with any responsibility ,never had to provide for anyone handle the responsibility of starting a family (talking about those who get married at an early age). Marrying at an early age,having kids one year after marriage. Not only did you not fail to find yourself you also failed to become someone's wife/husband. That's the most saddest fate.

@Mirzə because I ve seen examples of marrying early and most are not good. In this day and age ppl who are less than 22 act like kids. If u had a son /daughter who you knew can't take responsibility, you won't be OK with them getting married. Few of this generation who are really up for the responsibility. I'm not saying that the youngsters should go and fornicate until they are ready. I meant that until they are really mature, they can get themselves busy with useful stuff ( studies, travel, etc).

Beacuse it's not only your friends that will be unforgiving when they find out about your mistakes, there are times when parents are not ready to forgive their children. And that's really burdensome and painful.
I think finding a career you are content with is a big part of finding yourself. I am currently at this stage. Marriage insha’allah will come when Allah wills. May Allah make it easy for us to achieve our life goals insha’allah.
I find the cautionary advice of "finding yourself" can only go so far. When do you know you've found yourself? Reality is living life, experiences are so important too. You can only find yourself so much. Many people find themselves through their interactions with others. By experiencing life. We are meant to experience life. Reality is not everyone's marriage will work out. It is good to let the youth know ofcourse and others who are looking to get married for the first time what they should be looking for in a potential spouse and their priorities etc and more importantly where they can be themselves. I think there are certain qualities we should be looking for such as light heartedness etc. Reality is opposites do attract! This is why Prophet (S) said marriage is half of the deen. In so many ways it completes half of our deen. I think it's very important to be humble, understanding. When we're in love that's important as it keeps the love alive and flourishing. And yes as Mufti Menk said, dont give your heart and mind away. Of course when we humans love someone, our spouse that will happen. Once again life is meant to be experienced we can only perfect ourselves so much! You will grow a lot if have a strong intention to get married, insha'Allah. I get that marriage is sometimes made this end goal and thats why there's a lot of cautionary advice. Just dont make you getting married an end goal! Keep going. Keep growing. Keep giving. Be balanced and when we turn to Allah everyday Allah that will naturally happen. We learn to live in a place of letting go.

When I was 19 ..I found someone that I want him to be part of my future. We like each other.. He's a good man and stable. He be honest with me that he want to be serious.. He don't want to waste more time. But then, I realise.. That maybe I'm not ready.. I'm still searching for something.. I do want him .but deep in my heart .. I know I don't deserve him. I leave him for awhile to think about how I feel.. After a year. He's got married to someone that deserve him.. I'm sad..but happy for him. Am 23 years old am in process off doing my degree i somehow 4got myslf in this dunya ..i reached a stage where i become addicted to movies but the good thing i never miss my daily prayers . Alhmdllh i started realising my mistakes and am slowly disconnecting myslf frm the dunya .am evn at a point of dropping from my studies and start a fresh in islamic institutions ..in real sense i pity myslf and belittle myslf .. I leaned many things from Mufti menk. I watch his videos since even before knowing him. He knows how to explain things with references in a simple way. For those who will read this message brothers and sisters, I use this opportunity to ask you to make dua for me: I have a stomach pain (left kidney) since a very long time 2 years or more and after going to many hospitals, the doctor couldn't help me the said everything looks normal they give me just painkillers and forget about me (more than 6 hospitals). I can't pray, walk, move well sometimes that's how my life has become but I keep praying Allah the most powerful. I also need prayers from you dear brothers and sisters. It's not easy to my one side it's really painful but when people around me see me, they don't know I am sick.

There seem to be a lot a racism and tribalism too. I wouldn't like my marriage to be the reason my wife slips with her family. With marriage, you're not only marrying the person but also... in a way, their family, friends and everything that comes with them.

i started finding myself after i got married.... my husband nevr pressurized me for any of his interests... though he showed me many ways of becoming a better person... his opinions became my options... and now... looking back... i am thankful to him bcoz i have become a better muslim and a better human being...

I just love him so much. He always speaks my mind and puts it in the most beautiful way possible. Before you become someone's mother/father,become someone's wife/husband. Before you become someone's Husband/wife,become(find) yourself. Know your character,try to perfect,try to be the best you can. Don't take more responsibilities than you are supposed to. How can someone who doesn't even know themselves,who never had to deal with any responsibility ,never had to provide for anyone handle the responsibility of starting a family (talking about those who get married at an early age). Marrying at an early age,having kids one year after marriage. Not only did you not fail to find yourself you also failed to become someone's wife/husband. That's the most saddest fate.

@Mirzə because I ve seen examples of marrying early and most are not good. In this day and age ppl who are less than 22 act like kids. If u had a son /daughter who you knew can't take responsibility, you won't be OK with them getting married. Few of this generation who are really up for the responsibility. I'm not saying that the youngsters should go and fornicate until they are ready. I meant that until they are really mature, they can get themselves busy with useful stuff ( studies, travel, etc).

I think finding a career you are content with is a big part of finding yourself. I am currently at this stage. Marriage insha’allah will come when Allah wills.

I find the cautionary advice of "finding yourself" can only go so far. When do you know you've found yourself? Reality is living life, experiences are so important too. You can only find yourself so much. Many people find themselves through their interactions with others. By experiencing life. We are meant to experience life. Reality is not everyone's marriage will work out. It is good to let the youth know ofcourse and others who are looking to get married for the first time what they should be looking for in a potential spouse and their priorities etc and more importantly where they can be themselves.
I think there are certain qualities we should be looking for such as light heartedness etc. Reality is opposites do attract! This is why Prophet (S) said marriage is half of the deen. In so many ways it completes half of our deen.
I think it's very important to be humble, understanding. When we're in love that's important as it keeps the love alive and flourishing. And yes as Mufti Menk said, dont give your heart and mind away. Of course when we humans love someone, our spouse that will happen. Once again life is meant to be experienced we can only perfect ourselves so much!
You will grow a lot if have a strong intention to get married, insha'Allah.
I get that marriage is sometimes made this end goal and thats why there's a lot of cautionary advice.
Just dont make you getting married an end goal! Keep going. Keep growing. Keep giving. Be balanced and when we turn to Allah everyday Allah that will naturally happen. We learn to live in a place of letting go.

ive been hurt nd ive been used by someone i thought will spend his life with me..ive been falldown manytimes...nd still getting up and hoping to find the right one.evrything was not perfect i always wanted to be loved and my only wish is to hve the one who will protect me from sinn..bcoz i believe that man created to protect women nd thier emaan..we are in this world to protect each other purposely..Allah knows what we really need at the end my life will be end but i dont like Allah ended my life that i dont even fix mylife that i dont fix my life into a better one..im scared i hope even in this sinfull world i hope that Allah still giv me a chance to make thing better bfore he will tke my life...And Insha Allah he will provide me someone who can help me out someone who will brighten my life and walk with me into Allah's ryt path ameen

When I was 19 ..I found someone that I want him to be part of my future. We like each other.. He's a good man and stable. He be honest with me that he want to be serious.. He don't want to waste more time. But then, I realise.. That maybe I'm not ready.. I'm still searching for something.. I do want him .but deep in my heart .. I know I don't deserve him. I leave him for awhile to think about how I feel.. After a year. He's got married to someone that deserve him.. I'm sad..but happy for him. I believe what was meant for me will always be mine wherever I go, or no matter how long it takes. I'm not regret my decision.. Allah knows best.. Now I'm happy alone ..I learned and still learning about myself and my life journey.. Alhamdulillah..

I leaned many things from Mufti menk. I watch his videos since even before knowing him. He knows how to explain things with references in a simple way. For those who will read this message brothers and sisters, I use this opportunity to ask you to make dua for me: I have a stomach pain (left kidney) since a very long time 2 years or more and after going to many hospitals, the doctor couldn't help me the said everything looks normal they give me just painkillers and forget about me (more than 6 hospitals). I can't pray, walk, move well sometimes that's how my life has become but I keep praying Allah the most powerful.
I also need prayers from you dear brothers and sisters. It's not easy to my one side it's really painful but when people around me see me, they don't know I am sick.
may Allah grant you shifa and the best of health. may He make it easy for you!
