    Muito obrigado pelas expressões idiomáticas! 🇵🇹 Eu sou francês, mas a família do meu noivo é portuguesa, e adoraria comunicar com mais fluência e duma maneira mais natural, especialmente com os avós. Ainda que não tenho obrigação nenhuma de aprender o português porque todos vivemos em França e que eles são capazes de falar francês. Mas alguém disse algum dia que "Se você falar com um homem numa linguagem que ele compreende, isso entra na cabeça dele. Se você falar com ele em sua própria liguagem, você atinge seu coração". 😃 Além do mais, amo essa língua e apetece-me muito aprendê-la.     I still have to translate everything into English when trying to understand a Portuguese speaker. I’ve been studying Portuguese for over 8.5 years now and I’ve visited Brazil 18 times but I still can’t converse or read. I practice every day with my girlfriend and we’ve been doing it for over 5 years now. She only speaks Portuguese so we don’t use English. What can I do to learn? I do what most people do when learning. I think my brain works differently than most.

      I think the translation part is very natural. Everyone is different and we need to be patient. I think you are doing the right thing only speaking Portuguese. A tutor can help you, to focus on your strengths and weaknesses. Boa sorte! 🍀

    The expression I have never used is "sabes que mais". Now I will try it.

    I knew them all , translated my own way: TANTO FAZ) -Anything’ll be great! NEM POR ISSO)-Not at all! AINDA BEM QUE-)-Good thing ….SERA QUE-) Will he/she/it (verb)?(for future)

    I would have thought 'estou ansioso' would mean someone was anxious about something, and in a negative sense. I've come across it before. I know 'pelo menos' as it's used so often. For 'let me know', you could also just say 'diga-me', as it means roughly the same.

      Olá 👋 you are right the verb dizer in the imperative tense can be used in a similar way to avisar. “Estou ansioso” can be also I’m anxious. You need the preposition para or por for it to mean I’m looking forward. Continuação de bons estudos!
