  • Spain is leading the world ranking of Blue Flags for its beaches and the Valencian Community is the Spanish region with most of them, the quality difference par excellence at European level. The criteria that a Blue Flag beach must meet are: Information and Environmental Education, Water quality, Environmental management, Security and Services.
    Alicante is the province with the most Blue Flags in Spain and this year the Marina Alta has again received 18 of them.
    Jávea has conserved 3 Blue Flags for the sandy beach L´Arenal, La Grava in the port and La Granadella, which is under the 25 most beautiful Spanish beaches.
    Moraira has as well received 3 Blue Flags for El Portet, L´Ampolla and Les Platgetes.
    Benitachell can also hoist a Blue Flag for Cala del Moraig and Benissa has received in addition to Cala Fustera another flag for Cala Baladrar.
    Dénia has had 6 of the important quality distinctions, Calpe has 3.
    Important to know is as well that 5 yacht clubs in the region of Marian Alta have kept their Blue Flags: Club Náutico Jávea, Club Náutico Les Bassetes (Benissa), Nàutico Dénia, Marina Dénia, Náutico Calpe.
