I like the show's version. Soldier Boy in the show is basically Captain America if he was captured by the Russians instead of Bucky, and if Marvel is rebooting their films I can see Jensen Ackles as the new Cap. Comic Soldier Boy just feels like a bumbling fool, and his successor is just Bucky without Steve's guidance, all because Garth Ennis irrationally hates Cap.
I get in the TV series that Vought wanted to replace Soilder Boy with Homelander just for a more marketable hero. Payback was really sick of Soilder Boy's abuse I get how Gunpowder wanted out of the betrayal of how much they worked together.

Actually this is a criticism of propaganda. The new Soldier boy is a fraud and obvious propaganda tool. The Og comics criticise the establishment and the elites a lot. The show is way more subdued though on the criticism of the elites and instead it's mainly just the seven which is a criticism of celeb culture.

Ennis struggles really badly with tone, and he constantly fucks up the message he's trying to send by making shit too juvenile, he did the same thing with preachers "Arseface" character, they tell this harrowing story about child abuse and suicide, just to be like "AHA HE TALKS FUNNY CAUSE HIS JAW IS DEFORMED" on the next fucking page. It's jarring and makes me feel like he only touches on those topics by accident. There's also a weird amount of victim blaming in it that I didn't catch as a teenager

I’m still pretty sure Stain from MHA is an unspoken parody of Garth Ennis. They both hate superheroes, they’re both intent on making other people see the flaws in the concept of superheroes as a whole, and the only hero that either respects is superman (or in stain’s case, a Superman pastiche.) Also, there’s something to be said about the hero hunting nature of the main characters in The Boys, and the hero hunting nature of stain himself.
I think that's quite a reach. Especially with the last point. Billy wants to completely wipe out heroes since (to an extent) they've directly affected him and others in extremely negative ways. Stain does so because he views heroes as generally corrupt n such, not being in it for the good morals but for money and fame.

Soldier Boy and Stormfront pretty much got fused together and then certain details were kept for different characters. In the comics, Stormfront was definitely Homelander's dad .. and i think home lander's mom was meant to be some junkie girl or one of the researchers that 'volunteered'
Not really. Like all things there are nice additions in the show, but also the comic beats the show in many ways. For example, in the show it is woke and they made Black Noir a black kid that has some sort of victimhood. *Spoiler for Comic* In the comic he was a clone of Homelander minus some of Homelander's powers to make him less of a threat. His only purpose in life was to take out Homelander and replace him if he went rogue. He went crazy because Homelander never went crazy or went rogue. He then realized that he and Homelander had a sort of mental connection and started performing atrocities while dressed as Homelander so that when officials went to Homelander with evidence or suspicions Homelander would have vague memories of the acts. Black Noir eventually drove Homelander crazy so that he could perform his purpose. Homelander and Black Noir fight to the death with Homelander completely destroying Black Noir but he is gravely injured and on his way out when Butcher then puts him down.
So that’s why in the actual series a commander comes up and says to the flying hero(bug name I think) to stop flying as it could bring attention to they’re spot and reveal them to the enemy. She kinda of stopped a cannon event from happening I guess, even with Nicaragua being a lot more different than the western front.
Supes are a lot less super in the comic. It's more a metaphor for celebrity. In that the perception of them is all that really.matter. in the show they are actually nearly invincible a lot of the time

The show is VERY different than the comic. It's good to have 2 different "universes" based on the same idea, so the ones who read the comic can watch the show as something new.
There were actually 3 soldier boys not 2. 2 of them were in ww2, same or similar costume. Only possible difference is tha helmet being blue for one and green for another. Or its a shine thing or simply a coloring error. The show does this too with his helmet looking blue in some old footage and green maybe sometimes blue in others.
I like how the show actually change Soulja boy to be one of the best characters in the whole entire story line of the boys series because I honestly feel like it's kind of weird that the creators of the comics always fail to land such a good character to be one of the best

The first one was their marketing pitch to the US Army but was blinded in overconfidence of the finished product. He had no experience in war and thus died for that oversight. The second one was his legacy to ensure the first one's initial blunder wouldn't be discovered. The current iteration is the abandonment of his brand. His name was useful in the War, but with supers like Homelander, his brand has lost its significance. Thus, his latest version is as cheap as the man that wears it. The series version is Winter Soldier, minus the Trademark dispute. It's unoriginal and when compared to the other superhero programs in circulation right now, it's a cliché.

@thomasb7347 All three are used as a plot device to the Company's bottom line, how they were trying and failing to sell the superhero brand since World War 2. The first one was their marketing pitch to the US Army but was blinded in overconfidence of the finished product. He had no experience in war and thus died for that oversight. The second one was his legacy to ensure the first one's initial blunder wouldn't be discovered. The current iteration is the abandonment of his brand. His name was useful in the War, but with supers like Homelander, his brand has lost its significance. Thus, his latest version is as cheap as the man that wears it.
The series version is Winter Soldier, minus the Trademark dispute. It's unoriginal and when compared to the other superhero programs in circulation right now, it's a cliché.

The boys comic is nothing more than a great idea.
It's a lot more than that though. It's a really good satire and allegory for corporate America. Hughie and Butcher have great arcs and Stilwell is a great villain too
