I know so many people despise the PS2 ports of the Splinter Cell trilogy but if it wasn't for the PS2 version I would have never experienced this Ubisoft gem. Chaos Theory whether its PS2, or Xbox it's still the best stealth game of all time. If the remake actually comes out I have a feeling it could save or revive Xbox.
The Splinter Cell OG Trilogy is playable on Xbox consoles. I played it via the PS3 collection but on Xbox, it gets enhanced graphics. Its crazy how good OG Xbox games look on Series X
Good video on SC man. Idk if you are covering the other ones, if you mentioned it and I just wasn't listening my bad, but I'd definitely love to hear you go through at least up to Chaos Theory
I remember buying the original Splinter Cell at release for the original Xbox. Great game, though Chaos Theory is probably the best one of the original trilogy. I recently played through Rainbow Six 3 on PS2 and man, I miss the Ubisoft that made such awesome military focused games like that now. That old Ubisoft start up is pure nostalgia goodness. Ever play Rogue Ops for Xbox, PS2, or GC? Definitely not as good as Splinter Cell or MGS, but wish it got an improved sequel.
You can understand why your headshots miss if you use the laser sight attachment on the SC Pistol in Pandora Tomorrow (which has similar aiming). It moves all over the place, and is not represented by the solid, still reticle that is shown. It's purposefully like that. The reticle is more a representation of "this will MAYBE go in this exact area."
Going back and playing stuff like MGS2 and 3 along with the older Splinter Cells is crazy since they have so many functions that very few modern games that have stealth will have and really there’s barely any games have the same attention to detail. I was genuinely amazed that enemies in MGS2 could see your shadow as even more recent stealth games don’t do that. I have barely ever come across that sort of detail in even stealth games and the game came out in the early 2000’s. Looking at these older stealth action games makes it seem like most modern and especially high budget games are slacking heavily. But that’s just me ranting. Also, I was surprised this was such a small channel since this video was of pretty good quality.
Many games today have shiny graphics, but everything else underneath it is by far inferior to games that released back during the 6th and 7th gen of consoles plus pc gaming back during the 2000s. I saw a good video the other day comparing AAA games released in the 2020 to ones from the 2000s. It was mind blowing to see how far many AAA games have gotten worse these days outside of graphics.
Exactly! There's just something about the classic games back in the 6th gen that can't seem to be replicated in the modern gaming industry. Triple A games are too focused on big open worlds with realistic graphics and overwhelming missions that get you doing the "same" tasks like fetch quests, or "hey we gotta do this person a favor" etc. By the way, much appreciated on the comments everyone! 👏🏽
I got an og Xbox just to play it when it came out. But people really don’t understand how good chaos theory was for the time. And still is.
The bank heist mission I played over and over again until I was able to do it pure stealth on the hardest difficulty and it looked like a movie.
I did this because I was so annoyed by g4TVs Kristin Holts "strategy guide" for the mission that was so bad, look it up.
@ could I best it easily? For sure, but could I be THE Sam fisher? Now that was always the real test.
@ReviewWingsDSP Just trial and error. Wow after all these years I still remember you have to climb the outside and rappel through the ceiling.
the Elite difficulty was indeed very challenging in Chaos Theory, their missions made the first game look like a joke

Thank you man! My plan is to get Soul Reaver out there before carrying on with the rest of the Classic Splinter cells!

Not exactly familiar with Rogue ops but they almost look similar, are they identical in gameplay or is it different?
When you play to r6 siege now … you see that it lost all the Tom Clancy identity, the colour, design of the caracter skin ect

That's interesting, who would have thought Pandora Tomorrow would have that same problem with the aim despite the laser sight reticle 😂
