    For the Dark Angels, the points change are a step in the right direction, but it's not enough. The Lion, Inner circle companions and DW knights are usable in casual, but not much more. They're still too expensive for fairly mediocre stats.
    And I refuse to consider the ironstorm list as "Dark Angels", when it only has Azrael and maybe a Darkshroud. It's harmful to the DA, because it massively increases the win rate, despite basically disregarding almost everything in the codex which is heinously subpar (all the detachments, Belial, Sammael, Asmodai, all the flyers, land speeder vengeance etc.) or merely mediocre (terminators, the Lion, Ezekiel). On statcheck, removing the Ironstorm detachment puts the DA on a soul-shattering 40% win rate, the worst in the game as it stands.
    At the end of the day, I play casual, so I'll be playing with it, but I still feel the DA were done dirty with the worthless parody of a codex supplement, and barring actual meaningful rules changes, almost no DA unique units will see play.

    I wouldn't exactly call them a loser since I agree they were stronger than their winrate but I think the part about guard is a little off base, they had the most point changes of their meta list, even more than necrons and black templars. The average very competitive guard list with kasrkin, indirect and Bullgyrns went up somewhere in the range of 130-190 on average. Also while scions are not a bad unit now they are definitely not a replacement for kasrkin and later in the game are much less efficient once you have to reinforcements them back in without the self ordering than kasrkin. They do deepstrike but to make them actually do damage you need a command squad attached which brings you up to 170 per unit. If you don't bring that and just leave them as msu then they're a scoring only piece instead of both like with pre nerf kasrkin who also have damage. I appreciate the russes going down but realistically 10 points off all the ones that never see play with no changes to the demolisher / tank commander are more of an internal balance change than a buff to compensate the other nerfs this slate.

    I feel like a lot (not all) of units in the game have gone as low as they should you know? I think rules changes in upcoming codex's or dataslates are what are needed at this point. i.e Blightlord Terminators.

    Another winner and loser would be AdMech. They win because units that needed points buffs got points buffs. They lose because they got points dropped again which is not what AdMech players want since they want more effective rules. In my opinion, the most effective change to AdMech rules would be to their army rule. Two changes are needed that would make the army rule more powerful and reliable. First, enable each doctrina to be selected per unit in the player's command phase instead of only selecting one per battleround to be active army wide similar to how Custodes stances are now selected in the fight phase. This will allow greater flexibility for each unit. Second change is to each doctrinas AP bonus by making them activate on objectives rather than DZ. This will make these AP bonuses for the doctrinas much more reliable. In my opinion, these two changes to AdMech's army rule would solve a great deal of the issues that army faces.

    I like more the idea to replace the eightbounds with the maulerfiends rather than angron to be honest, cheaper, tankier and for a lesser price than a single unit of 6 exalted you have 2 distraction carnifexes that based on the board you can either deploy both or put them in strategic reserves
    I'd probably prefer to play angron, 2 maulerfiends and 6 eightbounds rather than 2 maulerfiends, 6 eightbounds and 6 exalted eightbounds

    Increasing points = unviable unit, never picked
    Decreasing points = excellent for its point cost, unit spammed
    And so the cycle goes.
    They should implement something like Conquest does: this unit can only be taken so many times, that unit can only be taken with a certain HQ, etc.
    Leads to a more balanced force building.
    Basically, a more streamlined and effective way of doing their old force organisation chart - because that was easily abused as well

    • @bigpoppa1234
      @bigpoppa1234 4 місяці тому

      The worst abuses of the force org chart were mostly down to rules that let people ignore it for sub-factions, like dark reapers becoming troops, or armies who got to take things they really shouldn't have in the chase for 'flavour, eg iron warriors getting IG artillery. other main thing was armies who had melee troops with a fast transport were overpowered eg the blood angles rhino rush, eldar & deldar with their hover transports.

    Quick note on TSons. The Arcane Vortex is probably the most important Enhancement in the hands of the Infernal Master as it guarantees 2 damage per shooting phase (also on overwatch). With good rolls he out damages Magnus

    I disagree on the wraiths . In order for them to be extremely durable you have to take a technomancer which everybody does and that unit was specifically increased quite substantially. I think they should’ve only limited its increase though if you were adding it to wraiths and not penalized it in general so that you won’t attach it to other units anymore like immortals or Warriors. The wraiths are extremely durable with a techno but they do not do any significant reliable damage. They are also quite sensitive to precision.

    • @nathangontarz4127
      @nathangontarz4127 4 місяці тому

      I agree with you ... Wraiths not in Canoptek are really bad at killing things, and even in Canoptek they are not very killy at all. Precision wrecks the block. Sure, they are super durable, but that's what they are supposed to be

    • @ninjamikeus

      One of the biggest losers I’m when it comes to Necron detachments, which nobody is talking about is the awakened dynasty because of all of the points increases on the Crypteks.
      Because it’s a detachment that literally relies on putting characters inside units to activate their detachment rule. They will probably see the biggest points increase.
      For example, if I want to place a Technomancer in a unit of 20 Warriors I’m paying an extra 20 points when we assumed GW increased the points in order to nerf Wraiths, now any unit that takes a Technomancer is suffering from the points increase that we all assumed was meant for Wraiths.
      Necrons our in a crappy position where only one detachment is doing well, which is the Canoptek Court, prior to that awakened dynasty and hyper crypt competitively viable… and sadly GW did not use this opportunity to make Annihilation Legion and Obeisance Phalanx viable… Realistically points changes aren’t going to fix these attachments anyway, we need to see some rules changes Necrons keep on getting hit with negative rules changes and points increases which honestly a lot of us were not expecting to see more than C’Tan and Wraiths and instead we saw several characters go up in points…
      With the reanimation Army rules taking a huge rules hit, it’s not really a mechanic that you can play with since it only activates during the command phase depending on which detachment you have chosen, for example, awakened dynasty is the only detachment if you take the appropriate units and spam protocol of the undying Legion which technically is once during the shooting phase and once during the fighting phase and once the command phase, on top of at least ghost ark, some overlords with resurrection orbs in addition to a reanimator, Illuminor Szeras And maybe a Reanimator.
