Thanks for such a fun game! Your Hell blaster squad was definitely a problem for me the whole game. I think you made a great list based around your fixed secondaries- it seemed no matter what I did you were always scoring! I look forward to matching up against you sometime soon!
Lovely video! ❤🎉❤ I’m enjoying this detachment. I’m taking fixed objectives with behind enemy lines and engage. With terminator squads all over the map I can get points possibly without having to do actions with fairly expensive squads.
I love the concept of 1-man deepstrike. Most my lists have been trying to lean into that first turn deepstrike. I've been contemplating a similar idea with an empty drop pod, since it's not a dedicated transport thinking I can hopefully drop it in the center for homers or somewhere on the corners for engage and still leave the enhancement open for an infantry unit to drop in turn 1 as well. It's also a lot of fun taking hell blasters with azzy and a lieutenant, fishing for sixes against an oaths target on a vowed objective.
Saw your post on the Dark Angels Unforgiven fb group, great video man! Inner Circle seems like a great detachment in my opinion as we have a surprising amount of things with Deathwing keyword. Not the best codex weve had but im sure we'll all have fun.
Dark Angels were always my favourite and my first ever army in 40k 2nd Edition (played Epic 40k and Rogue Trader before that). I've still got a handful of these models ❤
Who does Ezekiel join? The Assault Intercessors? Do you not think Asmodi is a better character for them as he gives them the Deathwing keyword and also re-roll to hit? EDIT: Turns out I’ve never read the Book of Salvation entry. I had no idea he gave units extra attacks! It’s now a toss up between him and Asmoadi for me!
Glad to hear you've found yourself in a better place with them. I'm in a similar boat with Blood Angels (I know there's some good deathcompany with Pfists and meltas.. but I don't' have mine modeled like that). I've found lists that certainly lose pretty much everytime, but are at least fun to play and do some things.
Last RTT I went to I ran this. Only thing I lost to was knights. And it was close haha. Fun list to play in my opinion Azrael w/ 10 sternguard vets Termi chaplain w/ 5 DW knights Belial w/ 5 DW Knights 5 - DW termis 3 - bladeguard Brutalis dread Redemptor dread Repulsor Executioner 5 scout 5 vanguard vets
I've actually been trying to refine a version of the Iron Angels build. Just one Stormraven, not two, especially after the points hike. I've also got 3 Redemptors and a Brutalis dread in there, so kind of a "March of the Ancients" thing going on. As for stuff from the DA book, I've tried out the Company of Hunters detachment and I didn't hate it. I felt like it lacked firepower a bit, as the Outriders are kind of an anemic datasheet, but I liked the Black Knights and Sammael. I still wonder if there's a competitive list for that detachment and I just haven't found it though. I definitely like your list although I refuse to go get a bunch of VanVets since they likely won't survive into 11th edition, at least not as they are.
The Glacial Geek feeling full Phil-ed by a Codex? What is this fresh warp? XD I really enjoy the challenge of getting the more unconventional or "bad" books/lists to work. Heck, even tried to make True Strike work in DnD, and sort of succeeded too. It was an asset. Were there better options? Of course there were, but I was just trying to make a point. Same with army-lists. That's also the reason why it always ruffles my Tzeentchian feathers when people just go for the most optimal solutions... Yes, for tournament play it's "a must" and if you picked a sub-optimal list, then can you really blame anyone else than yourself if you lose and such nonsense... Buuuuuut... There's a lot of ways to enjoy the games and it's always great to hear people doing just that (unless its on someone else's expense), so it's more than good to hear that you're in your happy-place again, Master Geek. :D Most of the true Dark Angels are dead, but it's at least something that the Dark Ultramarines get something done. ;)
Hey love to see DA lists! The codex was disappointing but no reason not to try to get as much fun out of it as possible. Btw, John Lennon from Art of War did try an Unforgiven Task Force with 2x 5 Deathwing Knights to some success if ever you're interested in trying that out.
It's great you are getting closer to a list you like, and the ideas are definately interesting. But i really want to play with terminators and have them feel good 😢
It certainly can be swingy, but it's been the best option I have found to handle heavy armor ... The fact it can reroll one hit, one wound, and one damage roll when it shoots helps to balance a little of the swinginess, but never underestimate my ability to roll 1s 😉
Loyalty is its own reward!

I had a TON of fun in our game! I look forward to playing against you again! 😀

been looking for more DA content! Thanks for the breakdown!!! Learned a lot!

I'm glad i was able to help you with testing and hope the insight helped!
It absolutely did! Thank you 😀
I always find myself wishing that there was a niche for the companions to shine in.
Put them with Lazerus w/ Apothecary

5 - DW termis
3 - bladeguard

Repulsor Executioner

That's a cool list! Did you do fixed or tactical objectives?
@@TheGlacialGeekwent tactical. I always go tactical. Feel like it’s more of a gamble that way lol

Nice terrain at SLG Tournament! Lulz! I loaned out my personal stash for the Tourney!
It's always a pleasure to play on your creations! 😀

I'd be curious to see thst

Same ... I am wondering if the points drop is enough to go hard in the paint with Terminators, but I think I need to explore this route more first
Great video...Phil
Love the breakdown of the list and the after action. How do you think the lancer perform overall? I have found them a bit swingy l.

Yay! Inner Circle to the !
Cool shirt!
Your people look great
