  • This low cost three channel beginner's plane is very easy to fly. Its 6G stabilization system allows you to fly it even on breezy days. Find it here ban.ggood.vip/...
    Pros
    - Very unusual differential thrust aircraft that includes a servo operated elevator. This greatly helps trim of the aircraft, improves its stability, and allows some elementary stunts with the airplane.
    - 6G gyro styabilization system helps keep the aircraft level, even with wind.
    - Weighs only 58 grams and does not require registration in most countries.
    - Beginner and expert configuration at the touch of a button. Beginner allows smooth and docile flying. Expert increase both roll and pitch rates to allow more aggressive maneuvering of the airplane.
    - 3.7V 350 mah battery provides approximately 9 minutes of flight time.
    Cons
    - No LVC warning or shutoff. To preserve your LiPo, recommend landing the plane when you notice that you're flying full throttle to keep it in the air.
    - Auto loop feature would not work for me. And yes, I tried pushing the pitch stick both down and up after pressing the stunt button. Neither worked for me. Maybe I got a defective plane, or maybe I'm doing something wrong?
    - The elevator servo was jammed full down out of the box, and would not center when battery power was applied. I needed to manually force/move the servo to center position, from where it started working properly.

    For the loop, pull the stick forward instead of backwards. I bought this and flew it for the first time. It really likes to wobble left and right and I don't really know how to fix it.

      This might be a little late but there are tuning buttons that can fix that if it is going one direction.

    I took my propeller off and modified it so that it has less drag, and will turn freely. Hopefully taking out for a test flight this morning. BTW it basically flew itself out of the box. Lots of fun! Update - my mods worked - I made the blades smaller - smoothed the back of the hub - heated them slightly with a small torch and twisted so they have pitch - It worked great - it glides even better.

    Pascal has determined that the protocol is a variant of MT99XX/F949G. It can be flown on that (Rates on ch6) but maybe needs more work.

      A big advantage of the elevator is that you can use the elevator trim buttons to greatly smooth out the flight. If the aircraft keeps wanting to climb, give it a little downward trim until smooth level flight is achieved. If it keeps heading to the ground, give it some upward trim. The end effect should be that climbing and descent should be mainly controlled through the throttle, and not the elevator.

      @@Quadcopter101 so I actually learned it's only a 2 channel, so the throttle dictates altitude, but I'm 5/5 for landing it in a tree, so I named it tree branch. Literally just lost my first prop about an hour ago😅

    • @Quadcopter101
      @Quadcopter101  3 місяці тому

      No, the plane is actually three channel (throttle, rudder (differential thrust), and elevator). But in both real and RC airplanes, the elevator is used primarily for adjusting the speed of the aircraft, and throttle for altitude. I know that it sounds counter-intuitive. The elevator can be used for momentary elevation changes, but you would also need to adjust the throttle to maintain that elevation.

    Given that I don't care about doing loops, I think this will be the perfect little beginner plan for me to learn how to fly RC planes. I would love to put a little FPV camera on top of it and just putter around a local park or my neighbor's cow pasture for a little while. How far can you fly from the remote before the plane loses signal?

    Great review! I have one on order that should be here any day now. The Hobbyzone Duet has a similar 3 channel differential thrust system. I put a Duet system in a cheapie 2 channel F16, and it really made the plane perform.

    Looks like it would be a fun replacement for the 3-ch QF008 787 airliner. I presume it would be using a similar type of receiver unit and 5-wire servo? Any idea of the protocol? Also what size are those motors?

    • @Quadcopter101
      @Quadcopter101  Рік тому

      I forgot all about the QF008. Guess this isn't the first that I've seen. No idea of the protocol. But I measured the motors, they appear to be 720's.

      @@Quadcopter101 Received ours today. All seems to work - though yet to test the auto-loop function. The motors are actually 7x16mm - same as used on a lot of the little 2-channel planes. Waving the aircraft around when powered up does end up allowing the elevator servo to swing too far and jam like you had there. Probably best to sit it down flat before turning it on and tossing it cleanly into the air.

    I kept on trying to connect it but it wouldn’t connect

    • @Quadcopter101
      @Quadcopter101  2 місяці тому

      To connect it: 1) plug in the plane's battery. 2) Turn the plane's on/off switch to on (it's located right by the battery door). 3) Turn on the controller. 4) Move the left throttle stick full up then full down to arm the plane's motor.
      Watch the following video to see the steps:
      ua-cam.com/video/MufKaucNgRo/v-deo.html#t=19m41s
      Very important. After the flight, always remember to unplug the plane's battery! Otherwise the battery can be destroyed by being drained.

      Actually no - turns out the double beep is the plane battery is flat. I put fully charged Panasonic rechargeables in and it double beeped after only a minute. My wall charger is faulty because I just went to have a fly and it dived after 30 seconds - I;m charging the plane battery now and its still charging after 20 minutes from the USB on my PC.
