- Welcome! I created this channel to share my love of painting with anyone and everyone interested in the world of art. My goal is to create simple and easy acrylic paint tutorials that guide you through each step layer by layer. I will teach you how to mix all of your own colors using only the 3 primaries (plus black and white) and hopefully bring out your inner artist!

Debbie I took your tutorial on hydrangeas and it was so easy!! I’ve really been enjoying g overcoming my obstacles with your great training. I did a huge canvas and still working on it with my fingers. “Then” I saw this video and you use yo ur fingers as well. I had no idea that you did. I love my hydrangeas! Finger painting!!! Whaaaat??? I couldn't believe those paintings were finger painted...but I guess fingers are just a closer extension of your creative flow...anyways...can't wait for future videos...happy Thanksgiving...oh yeah...I shared too!

Love your amazing work and glad your back!! Another amazing artist is Iris Scott. She doesn’t use any paintbrushes just her fingers and works with water mixable oils.😊

The second stage of painting 😂😂 very much a “what am I doing? This is hideous! It’s never gonna work...” but then when you get passed it and stuff starts to come together...that’s such a great feeling :)
The bumble bee is beautiful! All of your work is beautiful!! This year has been particularly tricky. I’ve had a severe bout of art block I can’t seem to shake off. I sit in front of my easel and everything feels so foreign and it’s frustrating because I went from feeling like my paint and brushes were an extension of me to sitting in front of my easel and thinking....”how did I do this before?”
Today I stretched my first canvas, and seeing your work makes me just want to paint!!!!

I have plenty of those same blocked moments. I find it’s best to just to a quick little mini painting of something you know would be cute and fun and easy. Then you skip that whole “second stage” and get inspired to work on something bigger.
I’m in the middle of a second stage moment as we speak!!! It’s a gift for my boyfriend’s birthday which is tomorrow!!!!! Ugh! I’m freaking out right now! I hate it!! 🤣😂
Really excited for your upload. I have been watching your videos and can see that the angled brush is totally a 'thing' but it just can't be bought in Scotland. Any tips on alternatives? Thanks Debbie, I love that your have earned your living with your passion. How wonderful and deserved! xx

Hi Debbie, just watched and followed a video of yours today and I found it really useful that you recorded every single detail while painting because I'm a beginner and I need to follow certain steps and that's what i like about your videos, some youtubers post tutorials but don't even put what paint to use or brush they're using, I may not have the exact colors but I like it knowing what colors to follow so that i could mix or use a color close to the color they're using cause when there's no specific color given I mix my own and it ends up to be an ugly color and wasted paint

I can't believe you finger painted that BUMBLE BEE😫😍 I hope I keep growing as an artist to become good at details and highlights that look realistic! Truly happy to see you back on UA-cam. I totally agree with the 3 stages in painting, I get into it and think oh man how long is this going to take me😅
Thank you for the kind words. I’m actually in the middle of a “second stage” right this moment. I’m taking a break from this horrible painting I’m working on to respond to some comments here. Actually I’m really procrastinating and hiding from it. 🤣😂

Oh boy that’s a tough question! I’ve been drawing and painting my entire life (well not much painting actually until I was in college). So if you add up 20 years worth of practicing I guess that would be a lot of hours!

Oh my gosh I feel this! Lol (the 'stages' of your art) I do the same. I get halfway into a painting...hate it! I want to throw it in the river. I come back and keep going lol Eventually, I love it. But boy the hate/love process gets me every time! :o)

I recently have been finger painting also and it is more fun and helped me to get back to work on unfinished painting.
