Floyd's fight IQ is one of the best ever. He'll lose the early rounds just to study all your habits and combos. Then once he has you figured out, he'll pick you apart. He has done this for every opponent - across a wide variety of styles.

he is a true student of boxing, like him or not. The way I see it, you can be as cocky as you want as long as you continue to back it up. The moment you get humbled you gotta stfu though. When you are that good, nobody who truly calls themselves a fan of boxing can really talk shit because at a certain point it just makes them look like they don't understand boxing.

Prime pretty boy was as feared in his respective weight classes as far as a boxing savant like 80's Tyson was with his punching power and presence. There's a reason they took as long as they could to underpay him so he wouldn't get the top fights years sooner than the Oscar fight cuz they all knew.

What I really admire about Floyd, is he had 2 different styles thru his career.
Earlier, he was way more "taking the fight" to people and being very aggressive. Then, he became the defensive/counter puncher.
2 different styles, both crazy effective..
Tho I truly believe, if he stayed the first way, and didn't change to that Defensive Counter Puncher Style, he probably wouldn't be undefeated. Simply because he would've been taking more risks.
And the Defensive style frustrated people so much, it mentally breaks them too. Love him or hate him, he's the best ever.

I wouldn’t exactly call this a rags to riches story. Floyd Jr. is the son of a professional boxer who had 35 pro fights, including a nice payday against Sugar Ray Leonard. His uncle Roger was a multiple time world champion, who held world titles for 5 years and enjoyed multiple paydays against Julio César Chávez. You could argue that Jr had more opportunities than most as he grew up with the legendary black mamba as his uncle.
