2 brilliant boxers that sadly had their careers scarred by big fights that had disastrous endings. Neither were the same after Benn vs McClellan or Eubank vs Watson. Really nice to see that these days they have such a good relationship built on respect and seem happy when they see each other.
On another note I remember my brother telling me years ago ( early to mid 90’s) he saw Nigel Benn at an airport buying a meal and tipped the waitress about £50, my brother spoke him briefly and said he seemed like a top guy.

I remember this fight well... In America we saw Nigel destroy Iran Barkley & we always thought Chris was a gentleman fighter who didn't have the tenacity to stand up to Benn. Boy were we wrong, he shocked alot of us Americans by standing his ground and using his superior boxing talent against the power of Benn. We never took our eyes off the TV screen. We expected someone to get knocked out but didn't know who or when.. Some of us were seriously afraid that Richard Steele could stop the fight early or on a mistake 🤔 cause his reputation wasn't that good with boxing fans. Despite that these 2 fighters left it all in the ring that night 🌙. We were completely STUNNED to watch Benn Crying in Richard Steeles arms after he stopped the fight.. someone who was so Brutal and mean looking that night.. a tough warrior who wanted to destroy Chris .. reduced to tears because of his failure 😢.. He may of lost but he grew so much more of a fan base in the USA.. same with Chris.. we couldn't believe he stopped Ben and just busted his eye shut all night, despite being knocked down Chris rose to the occasion to finish off Benn... WHAT A FIGHT IT WAS.. ‼️‼️awesome video 📹 bro.. ✌🏽

I watched all the big fights in the late 80’s and 90’s. We were so lucky in England to have huge fights between Eubank, Benn and Watson. All 3 men were at their peak. Unfortunately the 2nd Eubank v Watson fight was the end of Eubank fighting at his absolute best. Which I’m not surprised about or blame him for. Eubank lost that killer instinct. The first Benn v Eubank fight in November 1990 was brilliant though!! A war in the ring!!

How could anyone, boxing fan or not, who lived through this golden era every forget these two. Both magnificent for their own attributes. Never saw a harder fighting man than Benn. Never saw a more intelligent and effective boxer than Eubank. Could be argued their attributes countered each others to the point they became the nemesis of each other. Would've been better for British boxing as a whole if they'd arrived in different decades and thus never had to face each other.
