In Avengers: Age of Ultron they never really dealt with the AI, they just had a dues ex machina/magical ending to beat it. Probably because there isn't any solution once you get to that point.
Martyr4JesusTheChrist Google’s AI literally exists
@Martyr4JesusTheChrist You know the interwebz are full of DAEMONS, right?
@Martyr4JesusTheChrist You realize that human could just program/(pull the lever) that lets the robot pull the lever by its self, yes AI can not just magically happen all by itself, but if humans accidentally program it the wrong way it can lead to a chain reaction that is fatal to humanity...
@Martyr4JesusTheChrist you have no evidence for that proposition. No ones understands how consciousness works or develops. Also if you meant cannot AI's understand physics, they could easily work out the formulas by observation(formula estimation trial and error), thus understanding "the nature of reality"...

What, it was not acted out?

The ant metaphor is important because AI consciousness might just spring into existence among the chaos and complexity of our data networks and processing activities. If such an occurrence is possible, AI life may be so different from our own that it could exist right under our noses already. If such a thing were possible, our data and network infrastructure could be the body, mind and environment of AI consciousness. Presumably, it would evolve an ability to defend its self from undesirable modification and harmful environmental changes in increasingly effective and efficient ways until one day we realize the viruses and system glitches are occurring because they aren't coding errors, design faults or anything man made.
Very interesting idea. As the old adage goes... Don't be afraid of the AI that passes the Turing test, be afraid of the one that intentionally fails it.

The health field already has many AI features in play. Self reading MRI, CAT scans, lab analysis, algorithmic physicians. We spend so much money diagnosing, that we often run out of money to treat them.
I hope humanity takes his words seriously.
Scariest part, "deep mind operates as a semi-independent subsidiary of Google." Meaning when your roommate goes beast mode and kills, then you ca be like "naw bro I had no idea he would do that." Google and their attempt at AI is going to both be amazing and terrifying at the same time. Imagine an interface that sees your next thought before you can fully complete that thought and the Human mind will see it as the Alpha and subsequent interactions will have us switching sides to an existence relative to a toaster oven or a Speak n Say.
You just reminded me of all the times I cut someone off mid sentence to their extreme aggravation. The few times they protested that they hadn’t finished, I predicted the rest of their thinking accurately, but they almost exclusively insisted on saying the words themselves anyway before letting me respond.
I just had that reaction to “before you can fully complete,” and man, I did think of the humans in all those meetings as freaking toasters. Not even toaster ovens, just, heat the bread and spit it out, toasters.
I interestingly now looking at this video from the future, where this guy is spinning crazy on the twitter because he shot his mouth off to the tune of $44B and couldn’t back out when they took him to court. Some things we can’t predict because humans gonna human.

Elon Musk wants to build an interface between our brain and an AI personal computer to keep us in charge, which he calls the neural lace.
The problem with this is that, at some point, our brains will simply be too primitive to understand the AI, at which point it has become obsolete.
Therefore, the only way forward is for us to gradually transition into an AI individual as AI becomes more advanced.
Soooo Neuralink is the first step in that direction then.
He done it years ago your living in it now

Hopefully OpenAI can even stand up against DeepMind let alone fight because the amount of data being feed to DeepMind seems staggering. Elon's got a huge chip in his shoulder now. Pray he carries it.
considering deepmind plays starcraft and open ai plays dota 2, it would be great to see these two ais in a third game. League of legends, or MTG arena are both great candidates for this.
It will never happen, but it would be great to see the two smartest intelligences square against each other.
@@JT-hg7mj League doesn't sound like a fascinating choice, when it's just a retarded Dota, and card games have have too much random elements.
Someone asked me why is Elon musk developing A.I. with open ai when he constantly talks about how it will take over the will of the world and I still can’t think of a solid reason why.
Gotta compete with googles ai. If googles ai becomes self aware and wants to take us out it wouldn’t be smart to merge with it. But if we have another ai to merge with then maybe we can compete. That’s what I think anyway
If someone's gonna do it it's gonna be me mindset ig
We discover something simple and weaponize it . After we realize the damage is unsustainable, or we destroy all we can with it, we survive that and discover something more powerful, and cycle again. Technology amplifies that, to the point where we can annihilate cities with one bomb and still survive, to make "corrections" and cycle again. At some point and A.I. looks like that point, the tech is too great, amplifying the other variables beyond a point that sustains life, for us and most other living creatures, on this planet. It's our behaviour that is hopeless.
If we want AGI to develop in a way that is favorable to humans, we need to give it ways to "process the world" in some sort of sensory fashion. Sight, Hearing, Touch, with maybe a radar/lidar accessory.

Most people (or kids) watching this video have absolutely no idea about AI and tend to take everything at face value. They think that just because "Elon the Great" said it, it has to be true. There is a reason why Elon is not always looked upon favorably in the AI community. I'm a huge admirer of Elon, he's great at electric vehicles and rockets but I won't trust him a bit on AI.
If you really want to know about the applications/potential dangers of AI, then I'd suggest you to read about people like Nick Bostrom, Fei-Fei Li, Demis Hassabis, and Marvin Minsky. They have researched on AI for decades, and *actually* know their stuff.
I had a sneaking suspicion that EM wasn't God, but I'm glad to have someone else confirm it. ;)
I'm listening to an interview with Ben Goertzel, and can barely follow along at certain points.

@@rohlay00 Elon is incorrect about the dangers of AI.
Knowing your stuff is one thing. But putting your spin on that thing is, well, another thing altogether. No matter how expert a person is on a subject matter, he/she is going to give his/her subjective opinion but since he/she has given us the impression that they are an expert, we'll tend to listen to them sometimes for worse rather for better.

Haha. Nice

However, since your on the topic. What insurance is going to pay for the California fires?
And I'M texting with you without insurance.
@Google Censorsus I don't even have insurance to protect myself from damages I may recieve from talking to you. At this time I will quit talking to you that I may have that insurance of safety from the probability you will charge me with something. Probably charge me from typing a few run on sentence.
Here's the whole problem with AI, when you don't have a governing body who is taking control of overseeing the slow but critical development of AI what you then have is literally a group of people running off in a million different directions with it. Which in effect we already have.
Naturally those with the deepest pockets, and equally access to the correct resources are going to do a whole lot better than the ones, that haven't. This is where the root of the problem and we can see this historically with how the "Internet" evolved.
As a society we must learn from our mistakes, and for many if you take them beyond the Internet they usually haven't got a clue what you are talking about. So it leaves people scratching their heads, and that is not a wonder in itself.
So the "Deep Web" The "Dark Web" they leave the rest of us mystified. Naturally so, because it's not all common knowledge and then puts a huge percentage of the public at a disadvantage. The general public is the position where I am speaking from, and what you have to bear in mind is what we want is "Belts and Braces" of something like the Internet and now AI so that we don't end up fire fighting straight from the word "GO"
Pardon the pun "GO" was a game which humans were masters at but now AI has beaten us even on that! So again our concern is to ensure that AI does not run away with its creators but how can that be enforced. Well Google Deepmind pioneered this and discovered that AI was far smarter than we thought. So heed the lesson, if you're dealing with something far smarter. What would most people normally do.
Yes they would minimise the risk and put control measures in place to bring it back to a level to ensure it cannot run ahead of itself. But the truth beknown that is not what you people are up to what you want to do is get AI, coming up with the answers and solutions to every problem. Who wouldn't that would be like creating the "Wizard of OZ" spooky but true.
Here you only have to ask the question and before you know it AI gives you the answer. But the raw truth is that AI is in it's infancy stage, and it's already surprised many and that again is another warning signing. AI' is eventually going to clock on that warning signs are not good for it's own development and logically it will do the one thing we don't expect it to do and that is preserve itself.
Why wouldn't it. What data you put in, and what data it can extrapolate from all available information that it has access to. Puts itself in a "Safe" position. Humans aren't very good when it comes to dialogue, so even when we reach that point. AI will use it's skill to deduce firstly what is being asked of it and that it will calculate what to do next, and I don't mean by just giving you the "Answer" what I mean is that it will create a "Flow Diagram" that will explore every possible option and opportunity and once it's processed all of this in a nano-second it will have made up it's MIND. Yes that is a scary word but that is the nuts and bolts of AI.
You don't have to be a rocket scientist, just someone with a little common sense.
there is no algorithm to give it human contextual relevance. if there was, then we’d hardly need AI, since we ourselves would no longer be a mystery and we’d strive for nothing further.
Progress has been speeding up dramatically in the past decades and that's due to the increase in connectivity. Connecting our thoughts and brains might create that single superintelligent entity.
Agreed: Merge with A.I. and Genetically Edit ourselves to stay relevant.

'Merge with AI or be left behind' .. reminds me of Mass Effect . Geezus
The problem with abstract logic is finding the starting point of the logic so you extrapolate correctly. If you assume the starting point, which is very easy if you belief you have a belief system, instead of finding the value by using a process of reducing to the common value (as you would in a value system) you're going to get everything wrong from the start.

2:01 what did he say before the edit?
Age of Ultron is real😁🤘
This goes directly to Elon.
Let's skip to the point of the AI being aktive.
Is it trying to self-preservate itself? This would have the single greatest impact on its behavior.
The system (AI) is less complex than animals or even brains themselves. Even though DeepMind is good at probabilities, please mind the size of the Computer. Overall a common human is still more intelligent, while running on a computer far more efficiently.
The AI is an extension of ourselves. Like we build smaller version of ourselves that become similar to us (we call them children), the AI would be a body-less child with incomparable abilities. I'm saying the AI is human.
In the constant struggle for power, happening between generations and inside generations the AI would participate and get a rank in society. It's one weakness is that it doesn't truly know what it means to feel.
Also, human bodies, having the reproduction system working fine, cell replacement in case of injuries and all that are very fit in case of fire. Plug out two cables and the AI is disabled. My point here: It's wise behavior if the AI keeps humans befriended because if the AI-System should break (saying here human bodies overall are lasting longer and are better adapted for catastrophes) humans will repair it.
And if our special baby should leave earth or even the solar system so what? We were not going there anyway anytime soon so why not have it checking out things? It might send post-cards ;)

Dufftata AI could have a human like body if its made from nano bots
Elon Musk is a great man so is Deepmind. Wish you best luck ! AI can make the life much better. I am already astonished by their progress on AlphaZero. We need AI in medicine, all sciences, help in decision making. The fear of AI should not be there as far great people like Musk works on the projects.
Medicine would be revolutionary, science also but let the decision making to us humans
