I was there... skipped school w/ 2 of my buddies to go to Daytona.(During spring break - at the Bandshell) pretty sure it was an MTV show....I think it was a free show & MTV they had no idea what they were in for..Lol...
Not s fucking clue. At least it was a mixed crowd but muh "wasist" everywhere. So dumb there are no way race relations get worse after the 80s Total fabrication imo
This is shortly before H.R. went crazy. He was so talented. I believe that the violent head shaking may have contributed to his issues later. The headaches and then losing his mind is why I think that. This guy influenced so many genres it's crazy and he's not given the credit from hip-hop artists, etc. Fast rapping and the speed in music was so pioneered by this band and others ignore it or act differently because it's a punk band and not with 'black' music. Most of American music is pioneered by black people. I wish people would give credit where it's due
I saw them twice on this tour; Phoenix (where my band opened for them) and Long Beach. They were definitely in their prime. One of the greatest bands ever!!
How did this band even happen? Four black jazz musicians from DC become Rastas and create THIS? I have seen them 3 times, been a a fan since 1985 and STILL can't figure it out.
Most jazz musicians in the 80s ended up doing hardcore punk Fear and The Mentors are other prime examples of jazz musicians getting together to start a punk band
Thanks for the feedback. The show was billed as Bad Brains. I wasn't aware of them until this gig. H.R.s wig is funny but I did like the music and the show was free.
I'm trying to figure out who the guys are in the above video response. The band was billed as Bad Brains and played in New Jersey on 4/29/2012. I can't find out any info from the Bad Brains website and no one looks like anyone in the older videos. Can anyone shed some light on this video? Are they imposters?
@ryanb113n his delivery was fucking brilliant. i've often wondered how/why he decided to sing/scream certain lines. it just would never dawn on me to do it the way he did.
Oh YES their ABSOLUTELY WAS MOSHING. Referred to as SLAM-DANCING and there WAS a PIT. I know for a FACT mosh pits had been around as early ( circa 1980) in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and even Lafayette although the later wasn't ready for that. Possibly earlier.. Did you even notice the crowd?! A bunch of Frat who needed a GPS to find their own ass. Smaller stage and more appreciative crowd was needed. What a waste to play for that bunch.
Oh dear God... it's obviously not Bad Brains; it's HR and his solo band (believe it or not, under that blonde wig, if that's what it is, is HR)! This is hilarious!!!
anyone can tell what's the tittle of this song? i think the band is one of the inspiration of system of the down, i gueese. guys, try to see cowboys from hell of pantera, i bet u love it, if not, try to hear the tornado fo souls from megadeath, one of the best!!!
Pure energy. There will never be a band quite like the Bad Brains.
Probably the most underrated BB song ever. Just flat-out awesomeness.
The freakin energy. Its truly contagious .

This is what I love about them snardlefarb. This seems to come from them. Stunning originality.
Ignorance. Had to be there. In the Lower East Side. 80s to understand. Survival and spiritual power.
Most jazz musicians in the 80s ended up doing hardcore punk Fear and The Mentors are other prime examples of jazz musicians getting together to start a punk band
actually suburban kids from Maryland-- not DC
Amazing! Such pure mindblowing energy... you won´t see something like that every day.
the intro of the song remind me to "my name is mud" of the Primus

Duuuuude Dr. Know knows what's up!
😍
@JoeStIdes He's good, HR is my favorite though, He's got so much emotion when he sings. Some bands still can't capture that.
just one question: where's the fat dude with the mohawk?
Bad Brains are genius!
@qazqaz23 my man...these were the be all and end all
ダァーーーーーー!!!!!!!!!
Fuck Yeah !!!!
@xwolfsbloodx - I know right, they're totally static! That's what you get with a TV crowd, probably only 3% of em (if less) are hardcore.
ボブの後継者はHRか!!!!
Back when H.R.was unpredictable..

"90's lesbian sister of slammin...." hahah yes
Stayed at my flat in SF on their first tour. Kinda fussy- didn't like the garbage can i had in the kitchen, brought their own Rasta vegan cook.
Is that Munky!!?

Not anymore they can't. HR doesn't move on stage anymore and he just SAYS all the lyrics
@xwolfsbloodx well least you you can tell at end everyone loved it, if they started booing then they would be ULTRA DOUCHBAGS!!!
no moshing??
anyone can tell what's the tittle of this song? i think the band is one of the inspiration of system of the down, i gueese. guys, try to see cowboys from hell of pantera, i bet u love it, if not, try to hear the tornado fo souls from megadeath, one of the best!!!
