The Real Polar Express PM 1225 North Pole Express

- Pere Marquette 1225 Berkshire steam locomotive leads "North Pole Express" from Owosso to Ashley Michigan. The train is ran by the Steam Railroad Institute ( SRI ). The 1225 is the locomotive the Polar Express movie engine is based on. We chased the 10 am runs on 12/7 and 12/8/19 and rode the Saturday 5 pm run. This video is both chases combined in order of locations. We filmed 2 locations in Owosso, several rural spots along the way, Carland elevator, the small town of Bannister and finally arriving in Ashley where the town puts on a wonderful "North Pole". Also bonus footage of Amtrak arriving at the Durand Depot. I really need to practice my night filming.

She needed help no shame in that old girl ❤
All Amtrak Locomotives and Coaches must be saved!!!!!
Oh why?
@@ScottTaipaleRail Because that ex-Delta CEO Richard Anderson is not doing good running Amtrak and I want him kicked off Amtrak. He is cutting long Amtrak distances and routes! That's why all Amtrak Heritage Locomotives and Cars must be saved, preserved and running!
The entire video is awesome but those drone shots are absolutely amazing!
Thank you so much! Flying gets tricky when my hands are frozen!!
Scott Taipale
Flying a drone in freezing 🥶 weather has got to be difficult - even more so painful 😣
You go the extra mile in all your videos - each and every one is absolutely amazing!

I liked your idea of catching part of the journey in black and white. Takes us back to a bygone era. Pleased to see people assemble on the track side to watch "Pere Marquette" 1225 in action. No true-blue rain fan can lose their love for steam trains.
Thank you! I think steam always looks great in B&W plus the colors are so washed out at this time of the year.
@@ScottTaipaleRail awesome video! This reminds me that that Steam railroading Institute Should Add the mi train passenger cars to they’re equipment and they should acquire MI Train F59PH 18533 so it can Run Excursions with 1225
