    I just wanted to say thanks for this video. I attempted a carb rebuild on my 2004 outlander 400 max and after I did it It fired right up but would die with any throttle. Your video is the only one I saw that mentioned both main jets and their sizes. I took the carb back off, looked at the jets and noticed I had my #80 jet in the primary main position. I swapped them around and viola.. I have a working ATV again..

    First attempt with Mikuni BSR42 carburetor, best Video I have found regarding the exact carb I am having problems with. It will take some time to complete, but I am sure I'll find the problem with your help.

    Great video! I cleaned mine. My 2005 Bombardier 650 Traxter tops out at 20MPH. I can't figure out why, any ideas?

      Wrong size needle? Diaphragm has a rip? Main jet the wrong size for your altitude. If you want me to go through your carb I’d be happy to do so. Let me know. I have a jd buck 500 and it will not idle! Where exactly is the idle screw ?Thanks

    • @MidNebraskaMotorsports
      @MidNebraskaMotorsports  2 роки тому +1

      Does it idle low or just doesn't idle at all? If low, then turn the idle up. (idle adjust is at the top of were the throttle cable comes in at. If it doesn't idle at all then you'll want to tear into the carb to clean / replace idle jet. Thanks for watching. @@MidNebraskaMotorsports I have an question what will cause the gas to drain out of the carb where the drainage hole is at but it’s tight so the gas shouldn’t be coming out of it on an 04 ds650

    There is a small screen filter that needs to be cleaned at 5:40 in your video. This is the most common clog that affects these carbs. Re-do the vid. Thanks

    I have a John Deere Buck 500. I've cleaned my carb several times IAW this video. Fuel fills the bowl. The engine will only run with the choke on and when I take the choke off the engine dies. I've even increased the idle, but the engine still dies. Any ideas why??

      @@MidNebraskaMotorsports I missed one of your steps of blowing the carb itself out, which I did not have my air compressor available at the time. I took it apart again and blew it out, and now it runs like a champ. Thank you for posting the video...

    Anyone have any thoughts on why fuel would drip out of the carb overflow valve when everything seems perfect with the needle and float? i cleaned it all out, making sure the needle could freely move and that there are no cracks in the float. this is driving me bonkers.

      @@MidNebraskaMotorsports i found a way to test it in more detail and it turned out the o-ring needed to be replaced on the valve brass piece, the part the needle slides into. the ring had been in there for 16 years and once disturbed, was no longer making a good seal.
      now that the leak is fixed and the in-line screen cleared of debris, the quad is no longer overheating. i'm very curious why a partially clogged screen was causing the quad to overheat within minutes of running it???
