I really think we should be gracious to Biden and pray for him, he’s an old man with clear cognitive decline. It’s not his fault he’s running for president. If you have ever dealt with someone who has cognitive decline they are very stubborn in trying to do things they used to be able to do. Getting my grandma to stop driving was a battle, but one we did as a family, she would have kept driving until she died in a car accident. This feels the same to me, Biden’s family should not parade him up there it’s abusive.

I understand this isn't "clergy," but I disagree with using their platform to be so political. I rarely see them calling out Republicans who support the death penalty for not supporting the sanctity of life from natural conception to natural death, for example.

I call BS on that. I was fed up with him well before the election and wrote in Biden & VP Pence. There's been nearly 4 years to demonstrate that the polls were off, and all we've really gotten is a few hundred votes one way or another (which is fully expected) but that's not even approaching Biden's margin of victory.

Child here, 14 years old, and I was just wondering if it would be a sin on my part if my parents don’t take me to Mass or Confession. I want to go, but they never seem to have the energy to take me to confession at least, we usually usually make it to Mass.
I admit I could probably do more in regards to encouraging them to go 😅
The last time I went to confession was months ago for my confirmation this May (Woop woop🎉 I chose Saint Bernadette of Lourdes)
I believe it would be your parents responsibility until you can get to mass by yourself. As for confession the church requires once a year and anytime you commit a mortal sin once again if you can’t go by yourself and your parents don’t take you I don’t believe you are at fault at the very least you are at less fault then if you could go by yourself

I'm a 42 year old guy and am leaning into religion again after many years of witchcraft. Times were different when I was your age, I guess after my homework & yardwork was done I could basically do whatever I wanted as long as I didn't get in trouble, so nothing was stopping me from dipping into the parish our family went to. It wasn't Catholic but everyone was close.
At least you seem to keep Faith even if you are not able to get to your Church as much as you'd like. Some people seem too hardcore about it if you aren't keeping up appearances but keeping Faith in what you believe in is all that matters regardless of what anyone says.
You can’t be expected to fulfill an obligation that you can’t fulfill-and if you cannot get yourself to mass or confession without their permission or help, then you are not responsible for your not fulfilling the obligation. However, with due respect to them, be courageous in letting them know your desire to go and reminding them of the obligation! Keep in mind that sometimes there are reasons parents have that they shouldn’t share with their children; so, don’t assume they are doing anything wrong. However, take the opportunities you have to witness to the Truth and to receive the sacraments. Maybe one of the times you go to mass you can ask the priest for confession! Priests are usually happy to hear your confession if they can.

No, based off what you've said I don't think you have sinned. If you care about going to Mass and have no opportunity to go, then you aren't at all at fault.
Do you have any friends who attend a parish nearby? You could talk to your parents and see if you could carpool.
Also, I've noticed a lot of parishes offer confession prior to the vigil mass on Saturday. A lot of the time what I will do is come to Church 20-40 minutes prior to Mass and have my confession then. If you're interested in that possibility then i would suggest checking your parish's website to see if they offer confessions at that time.
Congrats on your confirmation! St. Bernadette is a wonderful saint. I need to learn more about her! I was confirmed in May also, but I'm a little older than you (16!). My patron is St. Therese, I recommend Story of a Soul!

I'll be honest, this video made me uncomfortable. I'm not American, but I found myself pitying Biden in that painful debate. I keep asking myself how anyone could have thought it was a good idea to put this elderly man in front of millions of viewers from around the world to watch him stumble around, at times confused and irrational.
Again, from someone who isn't from the States, it was actually rather terrifying to watch. Please don't ridicule Biden. It's a bad look. 😕

Trump did not mock a disabled person for his disability. That is a long-debunked hoax, which was made plausible by deceptive editing, and by people not being clear what kind of disability the person had.
Instead, Trump characterized the man's question as fretful and overly concerned about unimportant things. He did so by restating the question in a hysterical or fretful tone of voice. In this fashion he mocked the question, exactly the same way he had mocked similar questions in 10+ prior press interactions. (In those earlier interactions, the persons whose questions were mocked were not disabled, and were a mix of men and women.)
Do I think it was wise or presidential of Trump to poke fun at certain questions, in this way?
No, I do not.
But knowing that context helps us to have 100% certainty that he was not mocking the man for being in a wheelchair (I think that was the man's disability, right?).
Many folk believe Trump was poking fun at a mentally disabled man over how that man spoke, and that simply isn't true: He had a perfectly normal manner of speech, and Trump's mockery of hysterics did not sound anything like the way the man spoke.
But for Trump to have been making fun of just that one man's disability, he would need to have only used that mocking imitation of hysteria only with disabled persons, and only when their disability was plausibly imitated by a worried tone of voice.
Since none of that applies, we know, with 100% certainty, that Trump was not mocking the man's disability.
I only felt bad for him for a second until I remembered what a horrible monster he is.

I used to think this same way, but then I achieved a deeper understanding of what a vote for a particular candidate means.
A lot of people think that, by voting for a candidate, we thereby register our approval of every aspect of their character, every aspect of their personal history, and every intention and consequence of every policy they promote.
That is just not true.
Your vote is not a stamp of approval on a person.
Your vote is a comparison of two cost-benefit calculations.
When candidate X is running against candidate Y, and you vote for candidate X, you are NOT saying that candidate X is your personal Lord and Savior!
You are not even saying that you would be willing to let candidate X dog-sit your pets over a long weekend.
All you are saying is this: "Given the imperfections of both X and Y, I believe it would be better if X were elected. I estimate that it would be a better outcome. So, knowing that I have minimal ability to control that outcome, I am nevertheless casting my vote in such a way as to slightly increase the likelihood of that outcome. In this humble way, I hope and reasonably believe that I am contributing to the future well-being of my countrymen."
That is what your vote means.
Also, don't forget: "Personnel is policy." When someone is elected president, he himself wields important, but very narrow, areas of official power. His greatest impact on the future of the country comes through judicial nominations, and through the persons on his team who, because he was elected, are now empowered to change policies in the federal bureaucracy.
The truth is that presidents don't do everything. They don't even choose much on their own. They rely on cabinet secretaries and staff and nominees to have any impact, or even to understand what the situation is. (And that's when the president _isn't_ senile.)
So don't forget that your vote isn't just an estimation of the costs and benefits of that one man.
It's also an estimation of the costs and benefits of the team and the nominees that come with that man, but whose names aren't even on the ballot!
By reasoning about your vote in this fashion, you never have to feel ashamed about voting for someone you find imperfect. Instead, you say to yourself, "It's true I wouldn't loan this person my lawn mower. But I wouldn't loan the other guy my least favorite pencil! Between the two I estimate that X will do less damage then Y, especially when I take into account the policies and personnel that come with both X and Y."

I think that the Democrats should urge Biden to step down. But even he is preferable to Trump. As a British expat living in Kyiv, I am terrified of what a Trump presidency will mean.
