Don't trim or cut the plastic all you need is a heat gun and a small piece of 2 x 4 cut the piece of 2 x 4 so that it is slightly oversized of the measurement between the tire and where the flattened pinch weld is now after you do the pinch weld slowly heat up the plastic with the heat gun and use the the piece of wood between the tire and the plastic slowly pushing the plastic down the wood is there to keep the plastic down till it cools that way you keep a semi factory look and you don't have hacked up plastic
@@paulcuddle664 Explanation is straight forward buddy. Heat up the plastic, cushion the 2x4 wood inboard towards the vehicle so the plastic reformed into new shape after cooling, check clearance--reiterate as neccesary
Hello, would you be so kind as to help me with a question. I bought some wheels, 17x10 -12mm, almost like yours, before buying the tires, could this also work or will it present a bigger problem than yours? In any case, is it possible? Thank you very much for your video, very helpful 👍
We’ll done man! Quick question for you- I just found out my 02 taco has some serious rust on the frame… any suggestions on how I can repair it? It only has like 130k on it and I’d love to keep driving it for as long as possible
I'm not sure where you're located but maybe you can try to find someone that does frame repairs, that's what I do I have my own Fab shop, I do bumpers, steps , Sliders and skid plates, but I also do a lot of frame repair and rust removal and I paint frames then finish off the interior of the frames with woolwax or fluid film , I'm in Southeastern Massachusetts we have a lot of rust here
Just did this mod and my 33's are finally clearing! Great helpful video!
Have you had any issues running 33s?

@@hv4285 exactly, and if searched I bet there is already a few videos on this
Caster adjustment will move the wheel forward.
If you got aftermarket upper control arms you could adjust ur caster and wouldn't need any trimming.
Thanks for the video! Just installed the bilstein 5100s on my 2002 tacoma and getting 285s tomorrow. Can't wait.
I’m running 5100s 🤙🏽
Do you guys get the 5100 shocks with the 1 inch lift, 2.5, or no lift?? And the adjustable ones or no?
I just have a leveling kit and bilstein 5100 shocks. Running 33x10.50r15 🤙🏽
It’s the tire width that causes the rubbing. I put 245’s in mine and no lift or modifications required
Any update on your 285s do they rub while off reading
Great mod. Seems easy and effective.
I put a 3" spacer into front and added 2" leave on the rear. it works perfectly with 33" tires on my 02 tacoma.
I put a 3in front and a 2in back. Putting 285/70/16 on my 02 Tacoma, I think I should be fine. Right???
@@JuanMunoz-lb7ik yep, I have 285/70/17 on mine .
The 285/70/17 is actually an inch taller than the 285/70/16, just went thru this on a 96 4runner
I have -19 off set rn looking at methods and they only come at -6 off set is that too much of a difference will it be way to inside the wheel wells
Very well done sir! Deserves more reviews and likes
How does it ride with the bigger tires in terms of acceleration, top speed, stopping, etc?
What about when you hit a bump or a pot hole while turning? That still looks way to close for my taste
GREAT JOB BRO AM DOING THE SAME THING TO MY TRUCK TACOMA 2002
Did you mention the rim width and offset? Sorry if I missed it.

Unfortunately I don’t think those wheel will work with these size tires. Check out our latest video that addresses this.

@@bertbccfu9564 what’s your info? I need my frame repaired
Did you regear your truck so can run 33's
⚙️☄️
Nice tires😎
You should’ve done a 0 offset!
do you get rubbing on the frame on hard turns ?
Do you need to remove running boards?
What running boards are those? I’ll buy them off you
Can you link the tires and rims?
Great info I’m looking to get wheels for my truck
Nice! How does it ride with that lift setup and those 17s/33s?
Nice truck man!
Thank you very much man
Please make more Tacoma vids.
I’m trying to fit 33x12.50 cus I got a good deal 😭
Nevr had aftermarket UCAs but i fit 17x9 +0 w/ 1.25" spacers with true 33 tires. Never needed the pinch weld mod.
Fine for street driving, but what if you take it off road?
I've done the same mod except I also did a body mount chop and I have no rubbing issues thru the full cycle of suspension ,
awesome!
Did u have any rubbing on the uca??
Usually you will with stock uca , a wheel spacer will help , I used a 1 1/8 and now have plenty of clearance
Nice 💪💯
LIKE IT
Those tires dwarf those bike tires
Sledge 😄
Do you have a lift kit ?
