I just did my test drive today. I loved it!!! I'm going to buy it next week. I am so grateful and appreciative. It's part of my work. Thank you Toyota, and, thank you for the video. Take care
That is so awesome! I appreciate you sharing that!
When every car reviewer is showing TRD PRO, thank you for reviewing the Offroad trim! I thing this is the best trim and value for money. The 5K you save over the Pro can be used for lift kit, BFG KO2s and underbody protection and not to mention KDSS which is not available on the Pro.
KDSS..?
Lift Kit to Tip ...
This is the TRD Off Road Premium trim too. The title should have been more specific especially when there is an Off Road trim.
Aaron Queen whats the difference?
Kevin James: oh man, I forget. Umm, I know moonroof is an option for premium but not the other. Kdss might not be an option for the other, but is for the premium. The Toyota leather seats. Heated front seats. Umm, that’s all I’m comfortable with saying without risking being wrong. I’m sure you can see all the differences listed somewhere on the internet.
Great review Joe ! I have had two 4Runners in the past, a 96 and 2004. Loved them both. Put over 300000 miles on both. Happen to own a lifted 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport right now. When retirement gets here in a few years and my wife and I go to one daily driver it will probably be another 4Runner. Thanks for all your hard work putting out these great reviews at a staggering rate.
I ♥️ that 4runner. I've had Ford's, Chevy's, and they're not reliable from my experience. I had 2 Toyota's and never had any trouble with them and they're very reliable.
especially toyota vehicles still made in JAPAN with those VIN starting from J.
4-Runners are a Major Classic!!!
In the 80's and 90's ALL my guy friends wanted one!
I totally agree with you!
just bought my 2020 4Runner TRD off road premium last friday. I love it but im still looking at videos and reviews about this trim :) i love it
Never get enough of your videos!
That is so incredible of you to say!
Thank you kind sir. I love the review especially using the snacks (cause I love them too) for a size comparison. Subbed with notification for more.
great info, I purchased one today and watched your review first
A slot to put your mail. Some cup holders in the engine bay. Did not see these two coming. I love it.. Solid work on this review, Raiti's Rides.
Probably the best suv built today.
Exactly
One of them for sure!
OZ D1983 hell yes!
OZ D1983
Don't count out the new 2020 Tahoe Z71 with air ride suspension. 10" of added ground clearance.
nothing like it out there and resale omg ..
Wish they'd update the interior more too! Love the look of the Rav4 but the capabilities of the 4runner more. I'll wait in the next few years to see if they update it!
RR awesome vedio well done and yea the back power window had one in my 1993 bronco one of the best features u can have js ...
Thanks Eddie for saying that! You are so very right about the back window.
Cupholder on the engine... hahaha! I love your humor Joe. I have a 2007 4 Runner Sport and love it. Mine is a V8 and that is something I wished Toyota would not have dropped in their newer models. The suspension is awesome on rough city roads and can fly over speed bumps. It's old but solid and has been very reliable. It will be interesting to see if Toyota does another refresh when the Bronco comes out.
Thanks Robert for letting me share some laughs with you! I appreciate you talking about your 4Runner. I can't wait for the new Bronco!
Actually it is a beer holder when your doing your self maintenance
Yes! I had an '82 GMC Jimmy that a button to lower the rear window.
My father had a 79 Blazer that did that as well.
Great vid. I'm in the market amd this helped a lot. Thank you.
I am so glad that I could help!
Great video I love watch your video it make me calm down and focus I have Austim great job
That is so very awesome Tommy! Thanks for saying that and your support!
Raiti's Rides thank you
Just purchased a rand new 2020 4runner trd off road midnight black. So excited it comes on monday. Im going to drive it with the plastic covers on for as long as possible
Still have it?! Current thoughts?
suspension bits and what not. the best! keep it real bro
Great Job on this video!
BTW, this is the Premium Off Road package. I have the exact same one minus the leather/ heated seats/ sunroof which I don’t use. The sides steps on mine are full rail. My key is integrated to the fob. Everything else looks identical!
I just bought this 4Runner today AT Wesley chapel Toyota! This exact vehicle!
I'm glad it still got some old school features in there. It's too bad these are becoming less on newer cars as it is going towards more computer dependent and if the computer breaks then it's going to cost you.
Lord willing this will be my next vehicle, perfect for the Caribbean islands. Shout out to St. Vincent and Jamaica 😁
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!
Same here. But I won't be taking it off roading. But when we get a blizzard and 2 feet of snow I'll be ready.
I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago! I love it!
Congrats Michael!
What do you do for a living. I’m a high school student lol
Argonaut computer programming
Test drove one today, sr5 though.
I know this exact dealership as i used to live in this area. Sadly i am not a local anymore since joining the military but i would come to this dealership for a 4runner if i could awesome job!
I have a 2004 4Runner Sport with a 4.7-liter V8 that I purchased new. It has been rock solid reliable and is still a pleasure to drive. The best part is that I haven't had a car payment since 2007. I am definitely curious about a redesign, and I hope Toyota lightens it up, adds more tech (like lane tracing and adaptive cruise) and gives it a more efficient engine that has a few more horses. If they can do those things, I'll be buying a new 4Runner to drive for the next 15 years.
Like you said, 4Runners are bullet proof. Toyota is a little slow with the modern upgrades but that’s what makes the 4Runner a classic. Nicely done Joe! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
I totally agree with you Larry!
Thanks for the review - this is a strong contender for my next purchase, still thinking it over. I've driven Nissan Pathfinders since 2001. I have a 2011 now, I was greatly disappointed when they became a crossover in 2013.
Paul Sedlacek oh yes. Pathfinder went to crap
@@antoniocognato5023 totally agree. I don't know what they were thinking. Maybe trying to be like every other crossover, but they lost what made it somewhat unique
Paul Sedlacek yes. Some of those late 90s and early pathfinders are stellar! Japan made too. The 2004 was my fav year. It was tge last design before the newer box one. But the 2005 was great too.
The only nissan i would consider now is the frontier! Thats it. Nissan went south. So did honda.
@@antoniocognato5023 Interesting you mention the Frontier, I always thought it was a good quality truck. I'm basically looking for something similar to the Pathfinder I have now, maybe a bit more updated for around the same price, but it doesn't seem to exist, other than maybe this 4RUNNER. I may just keep the Pathfinder going, although the continuing maintenance costs may become more frequent
good review, the larger infotainment system was needed too.
Thanks Scott! You are so very right!
The jolly rancher pocket sold me 🤣
It gets them every time! Thanks for letting me share the laughs with you!
Love the 4 runner my wife has an 05 with 4.7 V8 we got it brand new and it’s still going!!
That is so awesome Rob! They are very reliable vehicles.
Rob Schuman
I wonder why they (Toyota) stopped offering a V8 as an upgraded option?
Beautiful vehicle. Great review BTW
Thanks for saying that and letting me share it with you!
While driving this 4Runner on the highway, did you experience hearing an annoying whining sound coming from who knows where, while accelerating and goes off as soon as you let go the accelerator? Is this a prevalent problem on all 4WD 4Runners?
“Huh” I always thought it stood for Toyota’s Really Dependable (laughs). Good looking out Joe, excellent review as always.
Thanks Josiah for letting me share it with you!
great review Joe! Never can go wrong with a Toyota/Lexus! It should have a 6 speed transmission like I have in my 2013 Lexus ES350...
Thanks Stephen! That is so very true!
Can't wait to see you review the new 2020 Toyota Highlander!
Stay tuned!
Great review! You're right, might as well get a brand new one through costco auto program.
Picked up a black 2020 trd off road premium that's been lifted, bigger tires, metal running boards and a windshield camera.
I don't know why is has a video recorder but I'll take it. I was wondering why the 4runner had two cameras at the too of the windshield.
Nice to see some updates to that interior, now let’s see a new redesign soon Toyota!
AGREED!
Love the 4runners 2019 or 2020 will be my next vehicle 🚗
You will love it!
I'm getting the 2020. I hated the old head unit/radio but I like the updated version.
Only the 2020s have the latest safety features. Keep that in mind.
What are the "extra suspension bits" the TRD Off Road has?
That’s a timeless design , I don’t see Toyota updating it anytime soon , with the exception of making certain things standard across all trim levels , great video man love seeing a car I actually own being reviewed lol
I totally agree with you Humberto!
Great videos. I never understand why people really care about functional air vents on a non performance cars. They look good regardless
Thanks for sharing your input on this.
Agree with the lighting, should have leds headlights since it has semi led taillights especially when you’re paying over $40k. Also the dual clock set up would bug me. 🐞🐞
Do a 2020 tundra platinum review sir
I got the 2018 off road, at first I want the pro but dealer unable to get one so I end up got the off road and I love it!!! Had FJ before the 4 runner 4 year never have problems I love the FJ but i have 3 big dogs it’s barley fit them in when I took them to park. the 4 runner is way bigger room, I love is so much!
Thanks for sharing your great ownership experience!
I’d like to see an eight speed transmission in there, and the engine tweaked to a little over 300hp.👍
What's with all the fake vents and scoops? Very disappointing.. thanks for letting us know.. TOP VIDEO 👍
Joe, are you gonna do 1 more c7 review? For the convertible model? I know this is a toyota post. Just gotta ask.
Joe Ratti is a car salesman who became unleashed from his desk. Part salesman and part enthusiast.
You obviously do not know me. I am not here to sell you anything, I've never had a desk job either.
"You must not know 'bout me - You must not know 'bout meeeee" haha
@@RaitisRides
It was a sarcastic joke. Relax.
Joe, I've got three questions: 1) Are there lockers for the rear differential? 2) Is there / are there any skid plate (s) underneath? What's the price?
yes TRD off road has a rear locker and skids plates(front, transfer and gas tank). The TRD Pro has the Trd stamped front skid plate plus the upgraded suspension
Thanks for the great assist!
The way 4runner drives no other suv drives like that it has unique driving experience.
I love my 2019 sr5 4R but I do regret not getting the off road instead.
The SR5 is basically the same. The TRD Off Road is mostly just a badge. I have a 2018 SR5 4x4. I love it.
Just I dont get the crawl control
Brian the biggest thing you don’t get on the SR5 is the locking rear diff.
Yes....that the another thing that you dont get the e locker as well
Ryan Garr You don’t need it with the traction control. If you lock the rear end it will go sideways possibly leading to a crash. Crawl control is a gimmick.
Can't wait to buy that bad boy. Gifted my 05 premium to my son and I am missing it!
I’m glad this one passes the Twinkie box test! 😂 it’s a keeper!
Michael Minniear are you sure it isn’t a sequoia? I don’t know they ever came with a v8
You are so very right.
No led lights?
that little pocket on the dash is for the walkie-talkie for care a vanning
About the fake hood scoop. Wonder if just cut out the black areas and put black mesh on it. Or used drill bits.
They should still have this motor/trans in the taco. This is the one to get. Made in Japan as well.
Amen. I really wanted a Taco but not with the issues they're having.
will a 285/70r17 fit with no rubbing???
Do you anticipate more horsepower and a different transmission in the future?
428steve Look into a Magnuson Supercharger or a used Land Cruiser (more comfort as well) with the LC, I’d look for a LC with a CPO Powertrain Warranty
Wondering what firing this thing up at 5:16 when it's ice cold then immediately pegging the RPM's to the rev limiter will do to it's brand new engine. ?
It is not filmed in the order that you see it in.
Personally id never get one of these just because it's such a gas hog but I know these things are bulletproof reliable. Great review as always joe
Sometimes you give up mpgs for piece of mind.
They are bullet proof!
@@HiPlains1 There is always and opportunity cost!
DisneyChannelFlow 2 I agree. And $$$$ even old beat up ones cost a fortune. There are other reliable cars out there for less money. I had one as a rental years back and they are super nice
@@mminniear984 I would never buy a rental car.
Thanks for telling us finally what TRD means
good grief, you have the www at your fingertips and you needed someone to tell you? pathetic.
You are so very welcome.
Absolutely great review Joe. Love the White on White color scheme ❤. U know me Joe I'm absolutely 100% sold on the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited. I like Toyota and all but they need to update their Trucks and bigger SUV'S u know what I'm saying Joe. I was waiting so hard for your notification to pop up ❤❤. Would love to see a 2020 Toyota Camry TRD 1 day. Thanks Joe.
The Toyota TRD should be here in two weeks! Thanks Jay for everything!
@@RaitisRides U bet Joe ❤
Jay Patel you’ll be taking your Jeep to the shop after 3 months of actual usage trust me lol piece of shit.
please mention Price -
you do such a great job reviewing cars sir! #detailsmatter!
Thanks Kyle that is so awesome of you to say!
He sold me at '"jolly rancher holder".
😛
Is this the super white color?
I like that it’s old school...I hope they leave it alone for a few more years so I can get one
I wish I could own a 2020 Toyota 4runner TRD off road. However, 17 MPG is killing my pocket whenever gas prices are $4.00 or $5.00 per gallon.
That's a off road premium?
Is that a 2015 Raiti..lol..thumbs up Brother.
Thank you Bud!
I love 4runners, but I wish they offered a 6 or 7 speed automatic transmission for better MPG. Still no better rugged 3 row SUV
You always bring up great thoughts.
@Raiti's Rides save that line for Lori brother !😂😂😂 just joking around with ya
"That's a TRD, we gotta get the hell outta here."
Awesome trucks
What happened to the led lights?
Who needs them just get flashed all the time with ppl thinking you have your brights on.
Does it have a Blind spot monitor?
Yes it does
Please do 2023 TRDORPremium
Anyone know the rear cargo area dimensions with rear seat up?
Can you please do a review for the 4Runner Limited Edition?
I will get that together for you!
pls. make a review for limited trim. thanks a lot🙂
Enjoyed the review but Why 45k. Toyota lists the price for the TRD off road as 39800.00. What are the options on this vehicle. A shame you didn’t say what was added over the base TRD off road. Edit: I just found the answer. You reviewed the TRD Off Road Premium. More expensive than the TRD Off Road. You should change the title of your video.
2020 TRD Pro Review?
Does this have kdss suspension system?
It does.
Power rear window is a stand out feature only on Toyota
AGREED!
I just drove this exact model. It's very comfortable, but good god it needs more power. It falls flat on its' face after about 40mph.
I know how you fee!
i love the 4 runner i would trade in my JL wrangler for this but the only deal breaker for me is that outdated interior and the 5 speed automatic
I'm trying to decide to trade my 2015 rav4 xle for this.Just paid it off only 30k miles on it.
I need something bigger and I really like that back window that goes down.
Only thing is it doesn't get as good gas mileage as my rav4.
At least it has rear ac my 2015 tav4 doesnt.
I would love to do a cross country trip to Alaska and back.
I keep changing my mind. A sienna more room and good gas mileage. A tacoma or tundra could put a slide in camper in it. I cant decide but I like Toyota. Never had a problem.
I’m in the same boat between 4 Runner vs Tacoma/tundra for slide in campers. Can take the seat bottoms out of 4R and sleep in back with goose gear platform for stealth camping or get a four wheel pop up camper or hard side on trucks, which would be great for off the beaten path camping but not so stealthy in other places. I heard after lifting the 4 Runner 3” it averages about 15 mpg. Figured if it gets that bad of MPGs it may be worth getting Tacoma of Tundra with truck camper. Decisions decisions. Wish they would hurry up and update the power train to be more economical.
@@NRGRX I bought a 2020 4runner off road premium in midnight black. Already lifted by the dealership. I'm really happy with it.
I would have driven it up that haulers ramp!
I was thinking about it Bob!
I love this SUV. Great review 👍🏽
Thanks for letting me share it with you!
I'm disappointed that it's a TRD version and it doesn't come with the TRD wheels.
I feel your pain! I guess they just want you to go TRD pro.
I have an 04, now at 120k. It's still like brand new, and really doesn't look any different than the 2020
That is so awesome Steve!
Bruh my dad’s 4Runner’s front windshield cracked somehow he was at a red light and it just cracked like the crack is all across the windshield
They must have a giant warehouse full of those old digital clocks they have been using since the days of the paseo and tercel.
This IS genius! LOL!
To be honest Joe, this truck fits you. I think you should look into buying one.
I would love a TRD Pro in Voodoo Blue!
Needs an electric version or minimum a PHEV version
We will see what happens with that!
4Runners are a beast.
You would think that all of those fake vents on cars would do nothing but lower gas mileage by catching air?
I know right! LOL
They finally changed that old infotainment system.
Do these use the same amount of gas as the tundra?
Almost as bad!
@@RaitisRides I'll go with the tundra lol
