Es que la música del norte de México viene del centro de Europa: Polonia, Alemana, Chequia, Austria, etc. En particular, es dificil asociar la polka con un país particular. Los Checos inventaron el nombre (pulka (la mitad) ---> polka (la polaca)), pero creo que no inventaron el baile o canto como tal. La mazurca es de Polonia y pokka mazurca tal vez surgió en el imperio Austro-Hungaro como fusión de aquellas dos. Los compositores Mexicanos de música clásica compusieron muchas mazurkas y polonesas, que son estilos provenientes de Polonia. En Estados Unidos, en las fiestas polacas, a veces tocan también las polkas mexicanas.

The dance may be Polish (It is a Mazur dance, so it isn't traditional, since it is heavily influenced by Waltz) but the costumes are not Polish one bit, neither is the music. The costumes are german, so what the hell. Polish folk costumes are rich in design with beads, patterns, hats, flower crowns. In this video, it is typical German wear. Misleading title!
Уладзімірa Вялікa Mazur is polish traditional dance and in Poland are a lot of costumes and not always really rich (a lot of are rich but not all). But this costumes I think are not polish.

Nein, diese Varsovienne, mit dieser Musik ist ein traditioneller Tanz aus Deutschland, insbesondere aus Norddeutschland. Das ist belegbar, so mein Tanzmeister (85 Jahre), der alle alten historischen Tanzhefte besitzt. Auch die DGV (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Volkstanz) sagt gleiches über diesen Volkstanz aus. Was hier zu sehen ist hat nichts, aber auch gar nichts mehr mit dem ursprünglichen Tanz zu tun, auch wenn es tänzerisch hochwertig ist. Wir tanzen die Varsovienne noch wie es in den alten Tanzbeschreibungen festgehalten wurde. Folklore ist eben kein Volkstanz. *Das ist das Schlimme an der ganzen Sache. Selbst die Folkloreensemble verstümmlen den Ursprung der Volkstänze* Auch verliert der ursprüngliche gesellige Charakter, den die Volkstänze besitzen seine Existenz. Hier werden die Menschen zu Zuschauern degradiert und nicht selber Tänzer/Tänzerin.

This resembles the “Polka” dance here in Mexico, its so interesting how much mixed culture we have over here!!

Polska ma wiele róznych strojów ludowych. Setki! Ten wygląda na strój ludowy- kaszubski, z polskiego regionu- Kaszuby.
naonaonia Yes, and the Kashubs are influenced by Germanic costumes, hence why the costumes in the video are not traditional Polish costumes.
