I want to visit Poland. My moms side of the Family is Stabosz and very Polish.. so is my Daughters Mother 100% I was born and raised in Chicago which is the second highest population of Polish people besides Warsaw
Lovely, I would love this performed with beautiful Polish gardens or old village homes in the background, instead of a room . It deserves that. The performers are lovely., the folk dance, charming. Blessings!
My dad was from Oulu in Finland .I am so proud that he fought against the invading Russians in the winter war. My mum was from Poland. This dance is beautiful,so traditional and innocent entertainment.Joy to watch
Austrian & Russian? Well then apologise for the partitions. I'm just kidding, I like Austria and Russia. Very nice countries. But of course I love Poland since it's my family's country. Where I was born I may not be Polish, but by heart I am a Pole.
Chopin said the Kujawiak was his favorite Polish dance. I can see how these melodies would have inspired him, or ones like them, not knowing how old this particular song is
I am here because I am learning about the Kujawiak in order to play the F-sharp minor polonaise; the middle section is marked 'tempo di mazurek' however the structure very strongly indicates the kujawiak. Most people mistakenly think it's another mazurek, and it was a startling realization to have when studying the dances of Poland.
Beautiful expression and dance. Pretty little girl seems to be so cute and soft but have enough strength to hold the boy as they dance. Great. ❤❤ lovely ❤❤

Japan rescued 765 Polish orphans in Siberia in 1920, 1921 and 1922.Polish orphans lost their family in Siberia and were hungry without food. Poland asked different countries to save Polish orphans. But every country refused to save the orphans. Finally, Poland asked Japan to rescue the orphans.Japan soon decided to save the Polish orphans. Japan found and rescued the orphans who were crawling in Siberia. We Japanese did our best to rescue Polish orphans. Japan sent a total of 765 Polish orphans to Japan. The orphans were weak. And the orphans were ill.Japan gave orphans a warm meal. And Japan treated the disease of orphans. The disease of all orphans has been cured. The orphans have recovered. Many donations were collected for orphans from all over Japan. Toys were also donated. The orphans treat Japanese who take care of them like a mother.Japanese also loved the orphans as their own children. The Empress of that time also loved the orphans as their own children. Polish orphans had a good time every day.The diet of the orphans was nutritious and gave a delicious meal.On the day of parting, the orphans cried crying that they did not want to leave Japan. The Japanese also shed tears at the farewell with the orphans. Polish orphans sang the Japanese national anthem "kimigayo" and the Polish national anthem on the ship. All 765 Polish orphans returned safely to Poland. Japan loves Poland. If something happens to Polish children, Japan will help again.Japan handed out the Virgin Mary prayer card to all orphans. Polish orphans who always had it survived the war and lived until they were over 80 years old.And during the Second World War, the Japanese “chiune sugihara” saved more than 6,000 Jews.
This is a beautiful historical fact and I know that in Poland people celebrate "Polish-Japanese friendship day" but my only question is why post it here with no context when this should be posted somewhere more serious than youtube comment section

I come from Poland. It's a real dance (central Poland - also real old dress in this area ). From 2 minutes starts very popular 40+ years ago the dance "oberek"- the man shouts "oberek". From 3:20 minutes similarly has danced my uncle during the wedding, From 3:50 dance only outside ( only show - not typical ). The woman has a hump - means married
@Seb MMy comment is about liking the dancing and not liking the camera bouncing up and down. That may have been rude, three years ago, but it wasn't racist. "Dances of Poland" is precisely what is going on in the video, so how is that racist? You seem "a bit" like someone who persecutes others for racism if you have even the slightest opportunity, no matter the situation. I think that makes you more of a racist, since you are assuming my race and commenting on the region my name comes from. My name is not Japanese. There is no Japanese word that matches it.
@Seb M I don't hate Japanese, but you trying to pair me with a race or nation is a sure sign you think there are things typical of one race or another. You continue to probe for where my ancestors came from, but that should not matter. You accused me of racism at the start, but it is you who keeps pursuing racist identification of my blood. Get a better hobby.
I'm writing a novel where one couple dances a Polish dance. Why is it I can find plenty of sites showing Polish line dance, but none that name the song they're playing? I need both song and dance.

Though I never checked if it's true
To prawda!!!

I do not understand you... We Poles have onli one common dance "polonaise" (in French language it means "Polish"). It was a dance of Polish nobiles. Aditionally we have many local (regional) folk dances like mazurka, kujawiak, oberek, krzesany, krakowiak and many others. All of them are Polish. The "polka" dance is common: Polish and Czech.

You don't need to go to Poland to learn these dances. Many US states & countries have dance groups that can teach them!

as a Polish folk dancer I see many technical mistakes, but it's great that you try to keep those traditions
because oberek people should traditionally dance after a few glasses of vodka

Super Echt ;-)

Greetings from Boracay, Philippines! Do they have ethnic Tatars and Mongols in Poland?
Emerito Reyes I'm sure there are Tatars, not sure about the number of Mongols still living here.

I'd like to see them dance to a Chopin Mazurka!

Me too!
But it would be harder to dance to his mazurkas because of rubato
The camera bounces way to much, but it's good to see some traditions still around.

Polish dance: kujawiak i oberek
Poland has by far the richest national dance culture in the world with 6 regional ones and one Polonez of the former nobility....
So beautiful, but I would like see something more popular. Both musically and in relation to dance.

They are kinda like dolls
LOL MAM TO NA MUZYCE
The music is too slow, usually its a lot faster, I’m guessing they’re not professionals. Good either way :).
The tempo is quite ok. You know, there are more what you call guidelines, than actual rules in the folk music.
