Having Luther vandross as a background singer is like having Michael Jordan on the bench! How incredible this song is with the combo of Roberta and Luther!!
This is just so amazing good!! Roberta Flack together with Luther Vandross and with Georg Wadenius from Sweden on the guitar. Look him up here on UA-cam ! He still plays this song together with some great musicians every now and then here in Scandinavia. He's just one of the most "tasteful" guitar players from the New York studio scene and please hear him also playing live with Donald Fagen ! A very underrated and unknown player who deserves much more recognition!! Please come out again and play for us live again Georg and Roberta !!! RIP Luther Vandross ! We are many that miss You so much.
as a'child' of this generation i find myself constantly inspired by not only my peers but the natural and boundless talent and skill of those who built it before , the subtle classiness is evident . Shoutouts to the lead and backing vocalists (aint that a young Luthah)
Wow I can't speak I'm speechless!!! How amazing that was!!! She has sweet rich soulful tone and spirit. Her band is very tight, excellent players, and the guitar sounded like I've never heard .. that tone and technique wow
Not only were they singing and playing like the rent, lights, and gas were due; they were having a ball while doing it. Ms. Flack is literally having fun while singing, playing piano and directing the band. And she always makes sure to give her band their props and encourages the audience to pump up the band also. By the way ALL of the background singers can SANG. Ms. Flack is known to have amazing backing vocalists and musicians. Along with Luther Vandross and Brenda White, there is Yvonne Lewis also singing.
I just love 70s soul music like this and Marvin. Nothing like this today. People used to sing about love and affection and now the R&B or soul music just feels cheap. I stopped listening to it after SWV or 90s music. I wish we had another Roberta or Marvin now.
Every time I hear this song it takes me back to the '70s when I was a little kid. It makes me sad for a little bit. Because I would love to do it all over again
They are in Toronto, Canada for this televised performance. However on the Live & More double album that this tour is a part of they are in Merrillville, Indiana.
Slick Mic thank letting me know. I hardly heard the name but figure it out now. But still can not find his other works when I googling even his playing amazingly on this.
When they got rid of live bands and went to producer generated music. That was it. My issue is r&b/soul music went electronic computer route while rock stayed loyal with the band playing groups.
Lutha credited Roberta with encouraging him to pursue a solo career. He said she told him you can't keep sitting behind me singing oohs and awwws. His demo became his first solo album "Never Too Much". The rest as they as is history.
I listen to this at least once a week. Can't get enough of Roberta, Luther, the background singer hitting the high notes and of course the band. So nice!
Glad Roberta let Luther go because had he not he would forever been in the background. You can tell even as a backup he should have easily been a solo artist. Sometimes you need a push to fly
Love the song! Roberta is awesome! My only complaint is that the bassist needed a shout out as well. Although my hunch is that the bassist got some special mention at some other point in the concert.
All you young singers y’all need to listen this soul songstress all day and all night. Then you know what soul perfection is. This lady was boss. Love her. Peace.
Soy venezolano, pero soy también de esa época. Roberta flack , siempre me ha hecho soñar . I love it.
I would do absolutely anything to go back to life in the 70s. Life just felt different then. It went from fabulous to sh*t in such a short amount of time. Makes me so sad.
I feel like getting married to god cos he proved he luvs without asking benefits. Jo the way batho ba teng selfish. today sumbody oitse okopa kemo shebile though I hv boyfriend otla mfa chelete
Maravilhosa mulher cantora artista . Voz linda ritmos alucindnte em uma canção com letra extremamente linda. Roberta Flack aprendi a amar vc nos meus 60 anos.
Yeah, the music was great! But the '70s had it's issues too, (Vietnam to name one). But i agree with you about the music: soul, pop, rock, easy listening, county....yeah we had it good.

Hell yeah. ♥️😁♥️

Luther sang backups on David Bowie's Young Americans, he's brilliant
Gotta start somewhere. Did you know he was Pattis fan club president FOR YEARS ,

There’s not to many singers that bring me tears in a good way… and Roberta Flack is one of them! So soulful! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love this tune so much...I get totally lost in it. The line ‘strolling in the park’ gives me goosebumps! Pure class!!
Right. Such a great song. Beautiful lyrics. Gene McDaniels wrote heavenly tunes especially for Ms. Flack. 🤗
This song is so mellow! I love it
Roberta and Luther!!! Wow!

Tha 70s was a special time............
Maaaan Luther was just awesome. Tears in my eyes
That dress looks great on Roberta. Classy lady.
Yes. Incredibly classy. So unlike today's artists. ♥️♏♥️
It’s the dress she is wearing on the Live & More album cover if I’m not mistaken 🤗
Just made dinner for my husband listening to this song.... about ready for dessert. ❤️🤴🏿👸🏿
Va Va Voom!!! 😂👍
Hello!!!!!
Young Luther and George Wadenius killed this guitar solo lol great recording!!!!!
Wow I can't speak I'm speechless!!! How amazing that was!!! She has sweet rich soulful tone and spirit.

Awesome song for sure!!! I get a natural high from it every time I hear it!!!
Simply some beautiful music.

Happy Birthday to the great Roberta Flack! Be quiet Luther!! (LOL) We did not you would eventually be one of the greatest male singers of all time!
My friend and fellow musicians Jon Hart toured with Roberta years ago. He passed away November 22nd. RIP Jon.
RIP JON
70's had the best sophisticated music
The last decade before MTV 😢
OMG. That’s Luther as a backup singer!
One of my favorites by her.....
I love her voice and her piano
Class song
Perfeito Sr.ª Roberta

Imagine. Having Luther Vandross as a background singer. Lol.
Luther Vandross and Brenda White-King on backgrounds!!!
2 of the best background singers ever!
And Yvonne Lewis, if I’m not mistaken. Also an awesome singer.
Feel Like Makin' Love
Every time I hear this song it takes me back to the '70s when I was a little kid. It makes me sad for a little bit. Because I would love to do it all over again
My, My THE LADY of my Generation, But The Lady of Eternity!
Pena que o áudio tá baixo, teria que algum profissional remasterizar!!!!
who played bass? he killed it!!!!
That is the late, great Gary King on bass. He mostly played with Bob James in the 70s through the 90s and is one of the most underrated bassists ever.
@@garybrown5085 Thank you bro! :-) This guy is crazy ;-)))
does anyone know when or where this concert was performed
Cary VonAlma I believe they are in Sweden
They are in Toronto, Canada for this televised performance. However on the Live & More double album that this tour is a part of they are in Merrillville, Indiana.
It is a 70s song but I don't feel it is old.
does anybody know that guitar guy playing the solo?
R Yamashita she says his name right before he goes into the guitar solo George Wadena
Slick Mic thank letting me know.
I hardly heard the name but figure it out now.
But still can not find his other works when I googling even his playing amazingly on this.
R Yamashita I listen to it numerous times through headphones sounds like she saying George Wadenis I'll try to find out if I do I will let you know
Slick Mic he must be George Wadenius of made in Sweden and BS&T.
He also joined Roberta Flack’s album and Luther’s too.
Lisa Toro
Thanks.
Actually I found out him as George Wadenius of BW&T
just now realise thats luther,,,,
do anybody know what happened to this type of "Real Music?"
When they got rid of live bands and went to producer generated music. That was it. My issue is r&b/soul music went electronic computer route while rock stayed loyal with the band playing groups.
Roger James dam that's screwed up
Well, you'll have to ask Nicki Minaj and Kanye West.
MrTeatreeoil I wish I had the answer for that today's music just plain sucks no soul no feel no love no nothing
They don't use live Bass and guitars no more and they sing over trap beats now rnb need to go back to live music
👑☝💕
Pre autotune, and a host of other things. Damn
Luther could have stole this song… one woo woo from Luther and everybody acting this song out.
Luther Vandross
Lutha credited Roberta with encouraging him to pursue a solo career. He said she told him you can't keep sitting behind me singing oohs and awwws. His demo became his first solo album "Never Too Much". The rest as they as is history.
Amazing
And they say we don’t understand each other (black and white)
I listen to this at least once a week. Can't get enough of Roberta, Luther, the background singer hitting the high notes and of course the band. So nice!
Brenda White hitting the high notes.
Love this vid so much and Luther killing it! 😍😍
omg .... I love this voice. She like nobody else and from my home town. ..
That is a young Luther Vandross singing background vocals here!!! Rare and vintage video clip for real!!! Amazing.....
Wauw; Luther in the background. What a voice
Pure artistry, through and through. Absolutely amazing.
Glad Roberta let Luther go because had he not he would forever been in the background. You can tell even as a backup he should have easily been a solo artist. Sometimes you need a push to fly
Roger James I thought that was him.
She had to push him out. He wasn't used to being out front.
YOU CAN HEAR HIM REAL GOOD AND ONE OF THE LADY'S SOUND SO BEAUTIFUL HITTING THEM HIGH NOTES🥰
Love the song! Roberta is awesome! My only complaint is that the bassist needed a shout out as well. Although my hunch is that the bassist got some special mention at some other point in the concert.
Classic Wow!
My Top 5: Phyllis, Aretha, Stephanie, Dionne.....and of course...Roberta.

60s - 90s music was at the top of it's game.
Today in 2021 not so much. 👎
60-70’s mostly. Music was already going downhill in the 90’s lmao with rap
candlelight.....burning bright.....What a classy Lady !
All you young singers y’all need to listen this soul songstress all day and all night. Then you know what soul perfection is. This lady was boss. Love her. Peace.

Muito bom na guitarra!
I love her so much
God how I wish I could go back to the 70s again. When our country was love and respected and we had amazing music. We were far more free then.
Yeah, the music was great!
But the '70s had it's issues too, (Vietnam to name one). But i agree with you about the music: soul, pop, rock, easy listening, county....yeah we had it good.
Awesome Band 🎶🎶🎹🥁🪘🎸👨🏾🎤❤

So smooth and passionate ❤
I'm addicted to this song. Somebody got that bass slapping. I'm in love with Roberta. I would have had to take her down
Strollin' in the park
Watchin' winter turn to spring
Walkin' in the dark
seein lovers do their thing
That's the time I feel like making love to you (sugar, sugar)
That's the time I feel like making dreams come true
oh baby
When you talk to me
When you're moanin? sweet and low
When you touch me
And my feelings start to show
That's the time I feel like making love to you
That's the time I feel like making dreams come true
In a restaurant
Holdin' hands by candlelight
Want to touch you
Wantin' you with all my might
That's the time I feel like making love to you
That's the time I feel like making dreams come true
Yes! I see him.
