It’s sad as a little kid I didn’t even realize it was the last. I just mindlessly waited every Friday for a new episode till I gave up and forgot about the show.
@Sonic The Artist right, this made nerdy fans upset that they have to terminate and recycle their merchandise. They like us knew the fact that Terra can't come back to the gang for the rest of the show. Wonderlessly we won't know with this horrible cancellation, the last of season 2 just ruined us. The Titans may never see her again, this ending tore us apart more than how Raven hurled her mystic land on the edge of Jump City.

I think that version of Terra was actually her. I believe she didn't forget Beast Boy she was trying to pretend to act like she's a different person. Not to mention there was a comic book adaptation of the 2003 Teen Titans show and there were tons of issues that took place after episode 65 and Trouble in Tokyo. One issue was about the Titans encountering Terra's older brother Geo Force. Geo is trying to look for his sister Terra and comes across the Titans. At first he attacks them in desperation to look for answers of his sister's werabouts but he manages to calm down. The Titans reveal to him that they know Terra and tell him what happened to her (sacraficing herself to save Jump City by turning herself into stone) Geo is upset by this but Beast Boy tells him that Terra is actually alive. They go track her down in her school. Beast Boy tells him that hes sure that is Terra. He tells him that after Terra turned herself into stone at some point she resurrected and somehow started a new civil life. He tells him that Terra doesn't even remember anything anymore. Geo at first moved forward to talk to her but then he decides maybe it's time to let go. Beast Boy finally accepts to move on to. They both leave and strangely enough, Terra (who is oblivious by the fact that Beast Boy and Geo Force was here earlier) emotionally senses their presence and smiles indicating she still remembers.
wow, i had no idea there were comics so that’s a shock (i’ll have to read them when i get the chance) but it makes me wonder what would’ve happened if the show continued, i’d hope they’d take that same route.
Maybe when she came back her powers really were gone... hence the chance at a normal life, but then how does she have the money to go to school? She had no home before...
I truly believe Terra remembers everything but she’s been through so much that she’s forcing herself to live a normal life and never use her powers again. For her own sake she has to forget. Or at least pretend to.
Exactly, I agree. It explains her attitude the entire episode, being very defensive and with a closed-off body language, as if to hide her real thoughts. The moment she clenched her fist in the diner scene I immediately knew that she remembered, but was purposefully denying it.
I agree because yes Terra has been resurrected for real and the proof is a comic book adaptation of the teen Titans series called teen Titans Go comics in which beast boy and Terra's brother geoforce visit the school where Terra lives her new life there geo force looks at Terra but decides not to remind her of her past and chooses to move on instead of reminding her and when beast boy and geo force leave Terra gets a small glimpse of geo force and beast boy and smiles at them when they leave indicating that she does remember. Also the teen Titans Go comics is based on the 2003 teen Titans series so this proof is real and genuine
Bruh, this episode destroyed me as a child. This was probably the first time in my life I became aware of the truth that a lot of stories don't have happy endings, there's no comical villain you can defeat to fix all of your problems. People sometimes just leave you for no apparent reason and you have to move on.

the final episode did that so well with the city changing and the villain being all white...iconic ending..for sure..very smart finale...it just feels so somber and well told...like they planned it..which is odd cause they had to put together a finale out of nowhere when they thought they had a season 6 and were told like weeks before that the show was ending and to wrap it all up
Apparently the ratings was a factor. Originally, the show was supposed to end in Season 4 (hence the season finale called: “The End”) but since it did SO well, CN not only green lit a 5th season but told the creators if THAT did well too, there’d be a 6th season as well. It’s fair to say maybe Season 5 didn’t live up to that standard since it was originally going to be 20 eps, it was ultimately cut down to 13. Also, by this time it became evident, the creators already planned (theoretically) Terra and other set ups (Slade’s comeback, Red X, who triggered the mask that made Robin hallucinate Slade, etc) for Season 6. My theory, ratings didn’t do so well due to Naruto and Ben 10 becoming their biggest hits on the network at this same time Season 5 was airing alongside these shows that they would promote more hype for them and gave them more of the popular blocks which was overshadowing the heavily declining Teen Titans.
Nah ttg wasn’t meant to replace TT. It is a good kids show and if you really watch it some jokes are actually funny. Since they took off the amazing world of Gumball, TTG is the best show on CN.

There's also another theory that when everyone was turned to stone by Trigon, when everyone went back to normal it got Terra out of the stone she was in as well. It is Terra, but she just doesn't want to remember everything that happened or be associated with anything having to do with her powers. There are Teen Titans Go comics that tie into the show, her brother actually went to earth to try and find her. Beast Boy showed him where she was, and he said that it was Terra and that she looked happier than she was by being a normal school girl.

I think the girl is the real terra, she's not a hallucination or a mirage-like most think and here's why: Terra was actually brought back to life when the Titans defeated Trigon, so when Trigon was destroyed at the hands of Raven, everyone in the world that was turned into stone was changed back. It is possible that Trigon's banishment also managed to free Terra from her stony prison. The reason why she refused beast boy called by her ''name'' because she’s unable and unwilling to face herself and come to terms with her past. She didn't lose her power no her memory, as you through the entire episode terra keep hanging her head down in shame, rolling unable and making somehow very sad or regretful expressions this is probably because she's unable to face Beast Boy, the titans or her past. Also, Terra seems to make excuses during the entire episode so that she can leave quickly like when rushes to make a hasty exit out of Titans Tower when the beast boy invited her to the tower. because the present stirs up repressed memories in her mind, memories that she’d like to forget but are still lodged deep in her subconscious. She chooses to forget the existence of these memories since they bring her nothing but pain and sadness. When terra clenches her fist, the ice in her drink comes perfectly together very abnormally. Ice cannot do that on its own. He didn’t fail at getting her to remember him. He failed at getting her to want to. She remembered everything, but she didn’t want to think about the awful things she did and Beast Boy was a living reminder. What The Slade robot said is proof that the girls could be terra, " if the girl cannot remember or does not use her power is because she chooses so, don't you see she doesn't want to remember you n face it she doesn't want to see you anymore". Terra isn’t the same person anymore that the Titans met near a cave. Beast Boy has to face the fact that Terra longs for a normal civilian life. Now that she has it, she won’t just abandon it to resume her role as a superhero. a comic book series based on the TV series exists. For some closure on Terra and Beast Boy’s relationship, I suggest reading issue #51, Geo-Force and Beast Boy consider visiting Terra at her school, but decide to let her be, as she is the happiest she has ever been. When Geo at first moved forward to talk to her but then he decides maybe it's time to let go. Beast Boy finally accepts to move on to. They both leave and strangely enough, Terra (who is oblivious by the fact that Beast Boy and Geo-Force was here earlier) emotionally senses their presence and smiles indicating she still remembers.
I can’t believe this was the last episode. The old Teen Titain was a lot better than Teen Titain Go. And I still want to know why Terra was able to escape from her stature form.
When Trigon took over the world and turned everyone to stone and then he got defeated by Raven and everyone turned back to normal including Terra and she pretended not to remember the Titans probably cause she didn’t wanna hurt them again that’s why she lied to BeastBoy

I always imagined that the true season finale would happen like this: The Titans team up with a member of the Justice League in each episode. Then in the finale, the Teen Titans and the Justice League fight a powerful evil threat and after the battle, Cyborg decides to leave the Titans and join the Justice League. There would also be episodes that talk about the past lives of Cyborg, Beast Boy, Starfire, and Robin.
I would have liked to see Slade as an anti-hero. I would have liked a storyline where someone follows Slade’s MO so the Titans naturally assume it is Slade, going back to the old Slade vs Titans days, until he reveals it wasn’t him through the Slade robots he communicates with. He then helps them find the copy cat. While the Teen Titans version of Slade was dark, I think his resurrection sets this up perfectly, as it is reasonable to assume a person who faced death would want to make some changes to their life.
Well since most of the villains of earth were defeated along with the Brotherhood of evil I imagine the new main villains would be extraterrestrials plotting for an intergalactic world Black fire could even be involved with initiating something like that and starfire could be the main hero of that story arc
What no one seems to get is that in that final episode, that final scene, Tara let's a very confused Beast Boy know that she never lost her memory. She isn't suffering from amnesia. She knows who she is, knows what she's done. She just wants to live a normal life. To be a normal girl, doing what normal girls do. Having friends like normal girls have. She doesn't want her powers, and never plans on ever using them again. Feeling sorry for a confused Beast Boy, she admits everything without really ever breaking cover. But in the end, he gets it.
I total agree the way she said was kinda like I understand how you feel because I did love you but that part of my life “ wasn’t how you remembered” kinda saying yeah you was a good part of my life but besides you was was tormented in every other part literally becoming a terrorist and dying and b4 that I was all alone. I think she always wanted to be “ just normal” and once she come out of the stone she just never even tried to use her powers again and just decide to start brand new. I feel bad for beast boy but I understand terra logic

The statue form was just her being in a state of hibernation/suspended animation so her body could heal herself. Once it did, she woke up. No more statue form. Everyone thinking she had died, she decided to start a new life. Pretending to be a normal girl.
I HATE that instead of making one final season of the Teen Titans to answer all questions and fill in gaps that we had throughout the show, they just keep producing Teen Titans Go and make fun of themselves by mentioning how awesome the old characters were. Just make a final damn season already.

I think Slade's answer is the right one about Terra. "If she doesn't remember it's because she doesn't want to remember" I think she actually blocked out her painful memories of betraying her friends and being Slade's apprentince. Either way the fact Slade wasn't trying to get revenge on her and moved on shows it at least mentally isn't the same Terra anymore.
I'm pretty sure this is actually Terra. She just doesn't want to be involved in all of that anymore. So she's severing the bond completely. Total clean break.

I remember reading a theory about how Terra came back to life When Trigon took over the world he turned most of the inhabitants of earth into stone and once he was defeated by raven everyone that was turned to stone turned back to normal Since Terra was already in a petrified state she could've been turned to normal along with the others Maybe she wanted to start over and forget her old life with the Titans and asked Slade to take away her memories and her powers so that she could live as a normal teenage girl

I prefer to go with the explanation that was actually stated in the episode. she lost her memories makes a lot more sense especially since she was petrified and that could be reasonable fictional logic. affect your memories not to mention the trauma she experienced. It doesn't really make much sense that she doesn't exist when she's interacting with classmates and nobody reacts to Beast Boy Who by the logic of this video would be talking to himself which would stand out even more because he doesn't look human yet nobody reacts to this

It’s really interesting that they chose to give the show such a somber ending. They could have just left the characters off happy after defeating the Brotherhood but instead they told one last heartbreaking story.
Terra is alive. The reason why her statue wasnt there was because after Trigon was defeated, everyone turned to stone became normal again, even though Terra wasnt turned to stone by Trigon. This episode was literally an attack on its audience. The white monster represents Cartoon Network trying to cancel them, as it is the right colors of the logo. The Teen Titans are trying to fight it, but it continues on. Beast Boy represents the audience because he doesnt want things to change, and Terra represents the cancellation itself.
Terra was always a mystery. Even this episode it’s let up to a viewers imagination. When Beast Boy asked if she remembered anything she makes a Fist and the ice moves down a bit. While Terra’s abilities were to move the earth not ice one could say it was the slight pressure that could have triggered something cause ice is still a solid. One can say Terra was somehow brought back and she has a second chance and wants to move on which is why she says girl Beast Boy wants her to be is just a memory. Or it isn’t her and she realized Beast Boy is hurting so she goes along with him for a bit. Soon realized theirs nothing she can do to help. She just looks like her. Theirs always someone who looks like someone else out there and this Terra could easily be a doppelgänger. So is it Terra? Who knows
I really wish Terra and Beast Boy could have started over like meeting for the first time if that was really Terra. It seems a bit too cruel for Beast Boy for her to act like she doesn't remember. Beast Boy was really pushy with her in this episode which isn't really good, especially if she lost her memories. This does seem like it fits the theory for the tv show though. For the comic, it seems that Terra really is alive as Big TheChungus said.

There is a piece of dialogue between beast boy and terra. We’re beast. Boy is saying “why can’t things be the way that they are but they used to you were happy” and she replies “things were never the way that you remembered” I think that alone shows why she never came back to the team.
I miss the old teen titans, they have an amazing arc and gives us life lessons. that we can relate in real life either positive or negative. I dont know what happened to the rebooted one. Its weird, like very weird. Robin turnes into a avocado monster. wow
Are you talking about on the fact that Tom and Jerry committed suicide in the original series finale? Because that's not true, not even close. Blue Cat Blues aired 2 years before the series finale of Tom and Jerry, and it was about them trying to rescue a baby.

The rumor started when someone asked if Blue Cat Blues was the final episode but they never got a response and then when people heard this question, they assume that Blue Cat Blues was the final episode, but it was not. In fact Blue Cat Blues aired 2 years before the real final episode. So at the end, Tom and Jerry didn't committed suicide, they just got arrested but probably got free after the police realized they were telling the truth.
I thought of a new spin off series of this: *Teen Titans and the Justice League.* It’s about the teen titans finally meeting the justice league at last.
This is also a great metaphor for the show itself. A lot of people want it revived or to continue (this version), but it’s also great and I believe it should stay in the past. It’s a show that we all appreciate and should accept that it as the past. All great shows and acts must come to an end, most that don’t end up falling away from what made it so great.
I just noticed that the episode ends with beast boy walking into a white light, what if the terra he saw was his gimm reaper and after he accepted she was dead he was able to move on to the next life, the whole episode can be a metaphor for beast boy dying imo
No. Trouble in Tokyo was meant to take place after it, and Beast Bot was alive and well. There’s also a comic based on the TV show that continues after the show ended. Alive there too
Back in 2006, I had no idea “Things Change” was the final episode. When I looked it up online soon after and it was confirmed to be that I genuinely hated it for years. But after recently rewatching the entire series, I appreciate the ending more now. It’s definitely not how you’d usually end a kid show, yet it has a sense of finality to it.
This episode has me in two minds in regards to Terra, in that She's both right and wrong. She's correct that Beast Boy can't keep on clinging to the past and trying to revive what he had with her, and that ultimately he needed to let go of her in order to move on with his life. Where I think she's wrong however is her assessment of herself, and her trying to leave the past behind. Or rather the EXECUTION of her means of doing so. On the one hand, it's perfectly understandable. (I subscribe to the "Trigon dying = world resurrected included her thing below) She's had a rough life and has committed both great deeds and terrible deeds as a hero and a villain, and she's alienated many of her friends and allies as a result, even with her redemption at the end of her early arc. It's no surprise that given the numerous mistakes she's made and the trauma that usually followed, that she'd want to leave it all behind and try to live a normal life as a regular schoolgirl. That being said, there are some core issues that plagues her actions, even this very last episode: 1) She has a nasty habit of trying to flee and run away from her mistakes, AND/OR 2) she tends to try to hide her true nature or the true nature of her actions from others. And in my honest opinion, this is what she's doing in the episode as well. And it's inevitably going to come and bite her in the ass like many of the past times she did so. When she ran away from the Titans due to a misunderstanding, she fell under the sway of Slade. She likely wouldn't have needed to run away if she hadn't kept on trying to hide her powers from people who clearly possessed powers of their own When her alignment with Slade was revealed, she committed herself to villainy despite there being better options. She might not have needed to do this if she had come clean about Slade earlier, or at least had been willing to trust that the Titans would understand her situation (especially given the past of some of the Titans). Like I said earlier, I understand her intention, but I feel like the past many times she's done so, this is yet again only a reprieve, a temporary thing that's going to inevitably end with her past and her mistakes catching up to her. She lives in an area that's not exactly lacking in villainous activity, and for all of her mistakes, she's still a heroic person at heart. And even not considering that, what exactly does she intend to do if her current friends are caught in a situation where no one EXCEPT her can help? Is she going to allow people, her new friends to possibly suffer and die just to maintain the facade of a regular schoolgirl despite her ability to do otherwise? Is she going to just flee once the truth gets out and change her identity again, possibly repeating the process over and over forever? The simple reality is that while her assessment of Beast Boy is correct, she's also making a huge mistake herself, and pretty much the same core mistake in all of her episodes: If Beast Boy's issue is that he clings to the past and refuses to grow up, then Terra's issue is that she DENYS the influence of her past and tries to avoid dealing with them at all, which is extremely unhealthy, and like I've noted, will inevitably be tested and possibly end up dooming her current facade, like it's done so many times in the past. The thing of course is that people expect her to try to be a Titan again, to realize the error of her ways and go to be a Titan again and be with Beast Boy, but that's not really helpful to her. She DOESN'T need to be a Titan again. She DOESN'T need to be with Beast Boy again. What she does need to do, if she ever hopes to truly be able to put her past behind her and be able to live her life in some form of peace, is to embrace everything she ever was. All of her past mistakes. All of her triumphs and failures. All of her past facades and her current self. They're all a part of who she is, and only by being willing to acknowledge them and truly face her past, will she be able to really move on and create a better future for herself, regardless whether said life is as a Titan, or just as a regular superhuman.
I pretty much feel the same way. Even when I first watched this as a kid I was asking myself what happens when she eventually gets exposed either by Slade, her powers acting up, a citizen recognizing her, or someone else from her past coming after her. I feel that even though both parties may want to go their separate ways I feel that she and the Titans will inevitably find themselves back in each other's lives, whether they want to or not. That said it could be considered a blessing in disguise with her accepting and coming to terms with her past, reconciling with the Titans, and ultimately being able to move forward in life without anymore fear or regrets. On a separate note I subscribe to the theory that this is Terra, physically at least, she was brought back when Trigon was defeated, she does have amnesia but decided not to pursue her past, and either got some of her memories when talking with beast boy and knows he telling the truth or still doesn't, or doesn't want to, believe and just told him what she thought he needed to hear. Otherwise if she remembered everything and wanted to start over why would she stay in jump city and risk getting discovered by Slade, the Titans, or the citizens. Either way she seems content with her current life and doesn't have any desire to uncover/return to her old life.
As a kid when i saw this episode i was so confused because i thought terra really was alive and then she just disappeared and beast boy just left and thats the end of teen titans. But watching this video really satisfied me and now i know what really happened
I feel like beast boy is always the character that gets screwed over the most... in this and titans.. the fact that he endured so much hardship and pain that should make him depressed but still isnt is lowley inspiring.
This theory is wrong. When Trigon came, he froze everyone in jump city the same way Terra was frozen. Then when Trigon was defeated, everyone got unfrozen and so did Terra. But since Terra was dead before the whole Trigon incident, she was reborn as a teenager. So thats why she said she only remembers high school.
You know considering most cartoons these days have horrible endings, maybe it’s best this show ended where it did. Even though a lot of people want it to come back.
I very recently rewatched teen titans I had no idea that it got canceled back then. I was pretty sad that this was the last episode ending on a sad note and a cliffhanger...
I think someone saved her from dying and mind wiped her memory or maybe it's someone who looks like her or she could be imagnary or beast boy just hanging on to something that's not real or maybe she was threthend to act like she didn't know them or something was going to happened to her
In a way this episode was analogy for life. Sometimes there is no closure. People move on, and life goes on. We can either accept it, or dwell on what could have been.
This episode impacted me when I was young. During the same year this episode aired I lose my home to hurricane Katrina. And watching this made me realize things change whether you like it or not. And left weird empty feeling when I was young but of course I've learned how to move on.
Things change, friendships fade, some stuff is gone forever, and there's always the one thought that it's not true that's holding you back unless you accept it as it is. I ended up learning the hard way about all that

I actually think this episode means a lot more if the mystery girl is Terra. Yes it opens the door about accountability, but give a few grains of salt(though it seemed like she got burned alive so) It addresses how in life you can meet people who have complicated histories with you, and maybe it’s just better to stay separate. Or in more relatable scenarios, been involved in less toxic relations, but that they’ve grown into an incompatible person
That was absolutely Terra, and she does remember. She felt like all she ever did was mess up. She gets her second chance and takes it. If she let BB know it was actually her, he’d never let her go.

I think that version of Terra was actually her. I believe she didn't forget Beast Boy she was trying to pretend to act like she's a different person. Not to mention there was a comic book adaptation of the 2003 Teen Titans show and there were tons of issues that took place after episode 65 and Trouble in Tokyo. One issue was about the Titans encountering Terra's older brother Geo Force. Geo is trying to look for his sister Terra and comes across the Titans. At first he attacks them in desperation to look for answers of his sister's werabouts but he manages to calm down. The Titans reveal to him that they know Terra and tell him what happened to her (sacraficing herself to save Jump City by turning herself into stone) Geo is upset by this but Beast Boy tells him that Terra is actually alive. They go track her down in her school. Beast Boy tells him that hes sure that is Terra. He tells him that after Terra turned herself into stone at some point she resurrected and somehow started a new civil life. He tells him that Terra doesn't even remember anything anymore. Geo at first moved forward to talk to her but then he decides maybe it's time to let go. Beast Boy finally accepts to move on to. They both leave and strangely enough, Terra (who is oblivious by the fact that Beast Boy and Geo Force was here earlier) emotionally senses their presence and smiles indicating she still remembers.

Exactly, I agree. It explains her attitude the entire episode, being very defensive and with a closed-off body language, as if to hide her real thoughts. The moment she clenched her fist in the diner scene I immediately knew that she remembered, but was purposefully denying it.

I agree because yes Terra has been resurrected for real and the proof is a comic book adaptation of the teen Titans series called teen Titans Go comics in which beast boy and Terra's brother geoforce visit the school where Terra lives her new life there geo force looks at Terra but decides not to remind her of her past and chooses to move on instead of reminding her and when beast boy and geo force leave Terra gets a small glimpse of geo force and beast boy and smiles at them when they leave indicating that she does remember.

Bruh, this episode destroyed me as a child. This was probably the first time in my life I became aware of the truth that a lot of stories don't have happy endings, there's no comical villain you can defeat to fix all of your problems. People sometimes just leave you for no apparent reason and you have to move on.

What was Cartoon Network thinking when they cancelled this show after this episode?
Apparently the ratings was a factor. Originally, the show was supposed to end in Season 4 (hence the season finale called: “The End”) but since it did SO well, CN not only green lit a 5th season but told the creators if THAT did well too, there’d be a 6th season as well. It’s fair to say maybe Season 5 didn’t live up to that standard since it was originally going to be 20 eps, it was ultimately cut down to 13. Also, by this time it became evident, the creators already planned (theoretically) Terra and other set ups (Slade’s comeback, Red X, who triggered the mask that made Robin hallucinate Slade, etc) for Season 6. My theory, ratings didn’t do so well due to Naruto and Ben 10 becoming their biggest hits on the network at this same time Season 5 was airing alongside these shows that they would promote more hype for them and gave them more of the popular blocks which was overshadowing the heavily declining Teen Titans.
Nah ttg wasn’t meant to replace TT. It is a good kids show and if you really watch it some jokes are actually funny. Since they took off the amazing world of Gumball, TTG is the best show on CN.

There's also another theory that when everyone was turned to stone by Trigon, when everyone went back to normal it got Terra out of the stone she was in as well. It is Terra, but she just doesn't want to remember everything that happened or be associated with anything having to do with her powers.
There are Teen Titans Go comics that tie into the show, her brother actually went to earth to try and find her. Beast Boy showed him where she was, and he said that it was Terra and that she looked happier than she was by being a normal school girl.

I think the girl is the real terra, she's not a hallucination or a mirage-like most think and here's why:
Terra was actually brought back to life when the Titans defeated Trigon, so when Trigon was destroyed at the hands of Raven, everyone in the world that was turned into stone was changed back. It is possible that Trigon's banishment also managed to free Terra from her stony prison.
The reason why she refused beast boy called by her ''name'' because she’s unable and unwilling to face herself and come to terms with her past.
She didn't lose her power no her memory, as you through the entire episode terra keep hanging her head down in shame, rolling unable and making somehow very sad or regretful expressions this is probably because she's unable to face Beast Boy, the titans or her past.
Also, Terra seems to make excuses during the entire episode so that she can leave quickly like when rushes to make a hasty exit out of Titans Tower when the beast boy invited her to the tower. because the present stirs up repressed memories in her mind, memories that she’d like to forget but are still lodged deep in her subconscious. She chooses to forget the existence of these memories since they bring her nothing but pain and sadness.
When terra clenches her fist, the ice in her drink comes perfectly together very abnormally.
Ice cannot do that on its own.
He didn’t fail at getting her to remember him. He failed at getting her to want to. She remembered everything, but she didn’t want to think about the awful things she did and Beast Boy was a living reminder.
What The Slade robot said is proof that the girls could be terra, " if the girl cannot remember or does not use her power is because she chooses so, don't you see she doesn't want to remember you n face it she doesn't want to see you anymore".
Terra isn’t the same person anymore that the Titans met near a cave. Beast Boy has to face the fact that Terra longs for a normal civilian life. Now that she has it, she won’t just abandon it to resume her role as a superhero.
a comic book series based on the TV series exists. For some closure on Terra and Beast Boy’s relationship, I suggest reading issue #51, Geo-Force and Beast Boy consider visiting Terra at her school, but decide to let her be, as she is the happiest she has ever been.

I would have liked to see Slade as an anti-hero. I would have liked a storyline where someone follows Slade’s MO so the Titans naturally assume it is Slade, going back to the old Slade vs Titans days, until he reveals it wasn’t him through the Slade robots he communicates with. He then helps them find the copy cat. While the Teen Titans version of Slade was dark, I think his resurrection sets this up perfectly, as it is reasonable to assume a person who faced death would want to make some changes to their life.
Well since most of the villains of earth were defeated along with the Brotherhood of evil I imagine the new main villains would be extraterrestrials plotting for an intergalactic world

What no one seems to get is that in that final episode, that final scene, Tara let's a very confused Beast Boy know that she never lost her memory. She isn't suffering from amnesia. She knows who she is, knows what she's done. She just wants to live a normal life. To be a normal girl, doing what normal girls do. Having friends like normal girls have. She doesn't want her powers, and never plans on ever using them again. Feeling sorry for a confused Beast Boy, she admits everything without really ever breaking cover. But in the end, he gets it.
I total agree the way she said was kinda like I understand how you feel because I did love you but that part of my life “ wasn’t how you remembered” kinda saying yeah you was a good part of my life but besides you was was tormented in every other part literally becoming a terrorist and dying and b4 that I was all alone. I think Slade's answer is the right one about Terra. "If she doesn't remember it's because she doesn't want to remember" I think she actually blocked out her painful memories of betraying her friends and being Slade's apprentince. Either way the fact Slade wasn't trying to get revenge on her and moved on shows it at least mentally isn't the same Terra anymore.

Terra is alive. The reason why her statue wasnt there was because after Trigon was defeated, everyone turned to stone became normal again, even though Terra wasnt turned to stone by Trigon.
This episode was literally an attack on its audience. The white monster represents Cartoon Network trying to cancel them, as it is the right colors of the logo. The Teen Titans are trying to fight it, but it continues on. Beast Boy represents the audience because he doesnt want things to change, and Terra represents the cancellation itself.
When you think about it when there were no villain’s around Teen titans that were important it really shined with it’s great life lessons
Terra was always a mystery. Even this episode it’s let up to a viewers imagination. When Beast Boy asked if she remembered anything she makes a Fist and the ice moves down a bit. While Terra’s abilities were to move the earth not ice one could say it was the slight pressure that could have triggered something cause ice is still a solid. One can say Terra was somehow brought back and she has a second chance and wants to move on which is why she says girl Beast Boy wants her to be is just a memory.

I really wish Terra and Beast Boy could have started over like meeting for the first time if that was really Terra. It seems a bit too cruel for Beast Boy for her to act like she doesn't remember. Beast Boy was really pushy with her in this episode which isn't really good, especially if she lost her memories. This does seem like it fits the theory for the tv show though. For the comic, it seems that Terra really is alive as Big TheChungus said.

There is a piece of dialogue between beast boy and terra. We’re beast. Boy is saying “why can’t things be the way that they are but they used to you were happy” and she replies “things were never the way that you remembered” I think that alone shows why she never came back to the team.
I miss the old teen titans, they have an amazing arc and gives us life lessons. that we can relate in real life either positive or negative. I dont know what happened to the rebooted one. Its weird, like very weird. Robin turnes into a avocado monster. wow

The rumor started when someone asked if Blue Cat Blues was the final episode but they never got a response and then when people heard this question, they assume that Blue Cat Blues was the final episode, but it was not. In fact Blue Cat Blues aired 2 years before the real final episode. So at the end, Tom and Jerry didn't committed suicide, they just got arrested but probably got free after the police realized they were telling the truth.
This episode hits way harder as an adult than as a child. It’s just crazy.
I thought of a new spin off series of this: *Teen Titans and the Justice League.* It’s about the teen titans finally meeting the justice league at last.
This is also a great metaphor for the show itself. A lot of people want it revived or to continue (this version), but it’s also great and I believe it should stay in the past. It’s a show that we all appreciate and should accept that it as the past. All great shows and acts must come to an end, most that don’t end up falling away from what made it so great.
I just noticed that the episode ends with beast boy walking into a white light, what if the terra he saw was his gimm reaper and after he accepted she was dead he was able to move on to the next life, the whole episode can be a metaphor for beast boy dying imo

Back in 2006, I had no idea “Things Change” was the final episode. When I looked it up online soon after and it was confirmed to be that I genuinely hated it for years.
But after recently rewatching the entire series, I appreciate the ending more now.
It’s definitely not how you’d usually end a kid show, yet it has a sense of finality to it.
This episode has me in two minds in regards to Terra, in that She's both right and wrong. She's correct that Beast Boy can't keep on clinging to the past and trying to revive what he had with her, and that ultimately he needed to let go of her in order to move on with his life.
Where I think she's wrong however is her assessment of herself, and her trying to leave the past behind. Or rather the EXECUTION of her means of doing so.
On the one hand, it's perfectly understandable. (I subscribe to the "Trigon dying = world resurrected included her thing below) She's had a rough life and has committed both great deeds and terrible deeds as a hero and a villain, and she's alienated many of her friends and allies as a result, even with her redemption at the end of her early arc. It's no surprise that given the numerous mistakes she's made and the trauma that usually followed, that she'd want to leave it all behind and try to live a normal life as a regular schoolgirl.
That being said, there are some core issues that plagues her actions, even this very last episode:
1) She has a nasty habit of trying to flee and run away from her mistakes,
AND/OR
2) she tends to try to hide her true nature or the true nature of her actions from others.
And in my honest opinion, this is what she's doing in the episode as well. And it's inevitably going to come and bite her in the ass like many of the past times she did so.
When she ran away from the Titans due to a misunderstanding, she fell under the sway of Slade.
She likely wouldn't have needed to run away if she hadn't kept on trying to hide her powers from people who clearly possessed powers of their own
When her alignment with Slade was revealed, she committed herself to villainy despite there being better options.
She might not have needed to do this if she had come clean about Slade earlier, or at least had been willing to trust that the Titans would understand her situation (especially given the past of some of the Titans).
Like I said earlier, I understand her intention, but I feel like the past many times she's done so, this is yet again only a reprieve, a temporary thing that's going to inevitably end with her past and her mistakes catching up to her. She lives in an area that's not exactly lacking in villainous activity, and for all of her mistakes, she's still a heroic person at heart. And even not considering that, what exactly does she intend to do if her current friends are caught in a situation where no one EXCEPT her can help? Is she going to allow people, her new friends to possibly suffer and die just to maintain the facade of a regular schoolgirl despite her ability to do otherwise? Is she going to just flee once the truth gets out and change her identity again, possibly repeating the process over and over forever?
The simple reality is that while her assessment of Beast Boy is correct, she's also making a huge mistake herself, and pretty much the same core mistake in all of her episodes:
If Beast Boy's issue is that he clings to the past and refuses to grow up, then Terra's issue is that she DENYS the influence of her past and tries to avoid dealing with them at all, which is extremely unhealthy, and like I've noted, will inevitably be tested and possibly end up dooming her current facade, like it's done so many times in the past.
The thing of course is that people expect her to try to be a Titan again, to realize the error of her ways and go to be a Titan again and be with Beast Boy, but that's not really helpful to her.
She DOESN'T need to be a Titan again.
She DOESN'T need to be with Beast Boy again.
What she does need to do, if she ever hopes to truly be able to put her past behind her and be able to live her life in some form of peace, is to embrace everything she ever was.
All of her past mistakes.
All of her triumphs and failures.
All of her past facades and her current self.
They're all a part of who she is, and only by being willing to acknowledge them and truly face her past, will she be able to really move on and create a better future for herself, regardless whether said life is as a Titan, or just as a regular superhuman.

I pretty much feel the same way. Even when I first watched this as a kid I was asking myself what happens when she eventually gets exposed either by Slade, her powers acting up, a citizen recognizing her, or someone else from her past coming after her. I feel that even though both parties may want to go their separate ways I feel that she and the Titans will inevitably find themselves back in each other's lives, whether they want to or not. That said it could be considered a blessing in disguise with her accepting and coming to terms with her past, reconciling with the Titans, and ultimately being able to move forward in life without anymore fear or regrets.
On a separate note I subscribe to the theory that this is Terra, physically at least, she was brought back when Trigon was defeated, she does have amnesia but decided not to pursue her past, and either got some of her memories when talking with beast boy and knows he telling the truth or still doesn't, or doesn't want to, believe and just told him what she thought he needed to hear. Otherwise if she remembered everything and wanted to start over why would she stay in jump city and risk getting discovered by Slade, the Titans, or the citizens. Either way she seems content with her current life and doesn't have any desire to uncover/return to her old life.
As a kid when i saw this episode i was so confused because i thought terra really was alive and then she just disappeared and beast boy just left and thats the end of teen titans. But watching this video really satisfied me and now i know what really happened

This theory is wrong. When Trigon came, he froze everyone in jump city the same way Terra was frozen. Then when Trigon was defeated, everyone got unfrozen and so did Terra. But since Terra was dead before the whole Trigon incident, she was reborn as a teenager. So thats why she said she only remembers high school.

In a way this episode was analogy for life. Sometimes there is no closure. People move on, and life goes on. We can either accept it, or dwell on what could have been.
This episode impacted me when I was young. During the same year this episode aired I lose my home to hurricane Katrina. And watching this made me realize things change whether you like it or not. And left weird empty feeling when I was young but of course I've learned how to move on.

I actually think this episode means a lot more if the mystery girl is Terra. Yes it opens the door about accountability, but give a few grains of salt(though it seemed like she got burned alive so)
