This is the opening song to the Abba Voyage concert and it blew me away....great opening choice that set the tone for a great gig
It's 🗑️ buddy🗑️🤪
Saw it a month ago when I was in London, and I agree. What a feat of technology!
absolutely amazing! best experience ever, will treasure 🫶🏻
I can still remember them rising from the floor, soooooo good! I love this song so much more now after experiencing that!
Totally agree. What a start to a stupendous gig! I was blown away- going again soon and can't wait
SUCH UNDERRATED SONG. THE ENERGY, FRIDAS VOCAL, AND THE BUILD UP OF THE SONG, PERFECTION😘😍🥰
Absolutely agree 💯
I think this is their sleeper song if it was remade today it would blow people away
@@marknasia5293 Yep. By the way, did you see BBC NEWS last month? Bjørn confirmed that 5 new ABBA songs will arrive later this year, as well as an ABBA avatar concert movie. It has been delayed due to corona. Sooooooo looking forward to hear the girls harmonize again on new ABBA material. Maybe even Bjørn will take on vocals on one song. Dreaming BIG, they maybe will release a WHOLE album just before christmas!. U have an ABBA DABBA DOOO DAY🤗
Actually one of my new faves of theirs.. along with soldiers
@@paulnevard9047 Yep, Soldiers. Actually, the whole album has been ignored in a way, that I don't understand. Looking forward to 5 new ABBA songs that'll arrive later this year, as well as an ABBA avatar concert movie. They took a ' little ' break, that ' only ' lasted 39 years. It's gonna be sooooooo delightful, to hesr the girls harmonize again, on new ABBA material. Never lost hope, since 1982. Wishin' u an ABBA DABBA DOOO day🤗
This track should have been a worldwide smash. Detailed, deep, historical and perfect in every way.
🗑️🤦
First song played in the Voyager ‘live’ show. A great opener. :)
They ended on a high. Visitors is IMO their best album and the only one I can enjoy back to back.
@@sjappelodorus This was the first ABBA album that truly felt like a cohesive piece of music instead of single after single.
It wasn't released lol and no one liked ABBA doing new wave it was not there genre at the time they where told to stay in the disco charts
Very underrated. My favorite song from my favorite album.
I have always said that if Abba released The Visitors instead of Head Over Heels back in the time of synthesizers and new romantics, this would have been their 10th number one single.
Interesting. And agree.
@@ofirt5903 Me too. I personally think this is their very best song.
Abba should have released both When All Is Said And Done and The Visitors as singles in the UK, they easily could have scored two more top 3 hits, if not two more number ones. Also, if Lay All Your Love On Me had been released as a standard single and not a 12-inch single, then it would have been a number one for sure!
This is one of my favorite ABBA songs of all time, and also caused me to realize just how incredible Frida’s voice really was. All those runs during the verses are something very few artists could accomplish in those days. Remarkable song, remarkable production and vocal.
I remember hearing this song for the first time from the 1993 compilation "More Abba Gold". I couldn't believe to my ears that "Dancing Queens" could record such a multi-layered song in a synthpop style without losing any of their best qualities . "The Visitors" is cold and dark, it carries a serious text about political persecution against people in the Eastern bloc - the last thing Abba was associated with ....... Then, when I got to know Abba better, I also appreciated "Eagle", "Soldiers", "Arrival" - ambitious, great songs proving that the band was more than just a machine for producing dance hits and wistful ballads. Pity that 1981 was actually the last moment of Abba, but it's an honor to leave the stage with such a remarkable song.....
Very appropriate at the moment given what's happening to the people of Ukraine 🇺🇦...our thought with you here in Ireland 🇮🇪
Great song, 1st song on their last ever studio album. At this stage they were growing tired of each other and the music industry. What an album to go out with.
I thought it was about a woman going insane.
When this drops at Abba voyage London the energy in room lifts off, absolutely amazing song 👌
They would have gotten so much darker and more electronic, if they kept going into the 80's.
Perhaps for a while. But since the 1990s, Benny is back at 100% acoustic with his band BAO.
That would have been awesome, just hearing Under Attack and TDBYC you can tell they would have turned into a New Wave band like The Human League or The Cure
I’m not sure about that. Look at I Know Him So Well written by Benny and Bjorn with Tim Rice for the musical Chess, and a no.1 hit in the UK for Elaine Paige and Barbra Dickson in1985. That is a total ABBA song in all but name.
They should put this out again today. It's still very relevant !!!!!!!!!
it's the opening to Voyage.
I didn't know this track...it opens the show in London.... Book your tickets folks... It's incredible.
When i was weaned off breast milk as a baby i was raised entirely on ABBA and wouldn't have it any other way!! They still bring a lump to my throat listening to their magic!!
I guess your mom's tape deck ate up the "Whale Songs" cassette?
Oh wow, same here!! I was born in '85. My parents had all their records, and I know just about every lyric to every song ♥️ they mean so much to my soul
@@katejesse993 Same! You have impeccable taste! They are immortal and the eighth wonder of the world
lol
The song the visitors in my view is very science fiction in billions of ways and it is a track I first heard 30 years ago and I hav eplayed it on the cd the Visitors millions of times and I never tire of listening to this superb track.
...and now, this fantastic song really gets the honor its deserved, at last... this is the first song which open the ABBA VOYAGE amazing new show. Boom. Amazing song to be opened with. Thank u!!!
Fridas voice is so good
So agree with you
This is pop perfection.
As simple as that.
Goosebumps with the intro!!!!! Unreal good
Yes. Pretty unusual introduction .
This was always the ultra peak of the night on the dance floors of the late 80s and early 90s.
Wow. Abba go psychedelic electro!
ABBA's Best Psychedelic Era!
Best Group Ever
I was shocked when the real ABBA came on stage at the end of the concert
Too bad they never released an official video for this track. My favorite!!!
Agree. A video would have been incredible.
And what do you call this video?
@@perpetualbystander4516 its simple bunch of parts from their other videos of other songs. Created by an ABBA fan. It is not an official video.. and no connections to the song in any way
.
I'd forgotten all about this one.
Thank you. 👍
Bester Song von ABBA..der hätte viel höher platziert werden müssen!! Er wird leider so gut wie gar nicht im Radio usw. gespielt..
Shows that Abba was ahead of their time, who else would know how the bib for incoming sms would sounds like.
This song should be in the top of the world one of the most powerful song ever number one forever🙌🌎🙌
ABBA is the most humanity music,
ABBA have provided music that envelops the deep soul. A far-fetched musician in history
Absolutely wonderful. I've heard 10 times in last 3 days. It's got something special to it.
Why is Benny's smile so damn cute
This is later ABBA....it doesn't get played much....But, as you can hear, it's pretty amazing! Great build up to the chorus, amazing production as always.
you have no idea for how long I was looking for this song. Just found a video about stupid drivers and one dash board camera owner had this song on the radio. I was like 8 years old when I heard it for the first time. Now I'm fucking 38!!! And all this time spent to look for it!!! AMAZING!!!!! I should know they were ABBA. Shame on me. Shame shame shame.
I literally came here from the same video. drove me nuts googling lyrics in various combinations before I got it.
it's never too late Abba fireproooooofffffff
I've just watched a documentary about Abba, and towards the end when they were discussing this track I realised what a great segue it would be with some Joy Division.. and 30 seconds later one of the contributors made the same connections..
Sounded so good at Voyage
Hears this on the dance floor last year. I was so fking blessed and surprised and shocked
This song goes out to all of those people who are happy to bad-mouth and dismiss ABBA as simply another Soda-pop group who were happy to sit back and rake in the substantial royalties of songs like 'Dancing Queen' and 'Super Trouper'. This stroke of pure genius, although criminally overlooked for many years, as was 'The Day Before You Came', truly showed that ABBA had much more in their locker than simply crowd pleasers. When you look back now you not only get to see the group grow-up in age, but also grow-up in lyrical content. With ABBA Voyage now wowing the fans and gaining even more of a reputation for musical innovation it seems that ABBA still have their fingers directly on the pulse of modern music and are now destined to become famous all over again...not bad for four pensioners me thinks.
great video. This was the END of ABBA. So sorry, I was a great fan, and was about 13 whren they broke up, so I know most of their stuff from the past. An extraordinary "band", fantastic songs, fantastic music.
Not any more
They are back !
The most underrated song in their catalogue, and easily the darkest song they made.
100% this needs to remixed .It could easily become a MEGA global hit
amazing that i refuse to hear songs from visitors, which symbol the end of ABBA AND didn't make any remembered hits. now, i hear this one during endless ABBA listening after their comeback. AND WOW ITS SIMPLY AMAZING!!!!!! SO PROUD OF THEM DOING THIS 180 DEGREES CHANGES, SOUND SO GOOD, SO GREAT SO DIFFRENT. LOEVE IT!@!!!
A Masterpiece 🎶💖
This song starts the ABBA Voyage concert ( you have to see it to believe it!). Utterly brilliant and scintillatingly haunting.
a great track
This song is perfection 🔥🔥🔥🔥👌🏼
Here abba outlined the sound that 3 years after Benny and Bjorn would employd in " Chess" or both Gemeni albums.
Nick Abbot sent me here, and he was right again! This is incredible
Absolute banger
This is one of their best songs AND album ❤
One of my favorite songs and albums of ABBA.... simply amazing album....
Song is amazing
I looooove space disco and Frida!!!!
I like how most of the video is from older ones like summer night city, take a chance on me, under attack, eagle, etc, etc
Such a f ing brilliant song.
The Visitors (album) is their best. I really love this song - imagine cowering in your East Berlin apartment, when the Stasi come a-knocking...
It is actually a symbolic song about someone having a nervous breakdown. Frida herself said it is a psychological song.
@@lkastelis8764 The funny thing is: I always interpreted it that way ever since I understood the lyrics - and then I read that it was about Soviet dissidents (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Visitors_(song)) - which also makes sense. The beauty of the song is that you can interpret it either way - and many mor (e.g. aliens coming to someone's home). But to me it will always be a song about paranoia. One of the many great songs of their very best album.
The melody after the chorus, that builds tension, that goes from uplifting to a tone down, is a testament to how Bjorn and Benny understood composition. 🙌 Brilliant as always.
Perfect choice as the opening song at ABBA Voyage, heralding the arrival of the Avatars, ABBA reborn and the dawn of a new era of entertainment via this incredible technical achievement. It also sends the message that Voyage is not just a greatest hits compilation. This is quality . . .
40 años después de su última grabación del grupo Abba, esta melodía la escuché a inicios del 82, en un cassette de new Wave lo incluí por su sonido futurista espacial, desde los 70's de niño mi amor platónico fue su vocalista Agnetha.
Abba Voyage gig has really brought this song back to the fore
perfect choice for the opening song of abba voyage. awesome build up, damn i wanna go see it again D;
What an incredible track that just reaches to your soul
There are so many great songs on this album but I think most of them are sad due to the pending breakup of the group and couples so I think that's why it isn't considered one of their best albums
I think it's their best album.
Perfect opener for the Abba Voyage concert
Sensational song!
one of the best for me.
underrated song..
The video is to bright and happy for such a dark song
Erano 2 coppie bellissime le ragazze ancora oggi. I bois un po' meno si sono gustati invecchiando. Ma le loro canzoni sono sempre giovani. Le loro canzoni emozionano ancora oggi.
I thought this song was about aliens from space. Anyway, one of their best.
I thought it was about the holocaust. Some Anne frank ish
Abba clearly taking a new direction with this song. Not sure why it's not more popular than it is...
Only aware of this song because of ABBA voyage now I can't stop playing it 😍
Me too😊
I like 80s ABBA
super nāmņam this is a story is magicle
Great song

Love abba 😍
Cold War-feelings from the early 1980s
最高です
Amei!!! O melhor de todos!!!
@ 0:55 Im so in love❤️❤️❤️
I love ABBA
I love Voyager thank you ABBA
We need some new talent but sadly I don't think any would come anywhere near their talent.
Great video.
Nicely done.
SUPERSONG !
This zo Good ABBA ABBA.
love this song
Those arrangements on the verses sound like something that could have been on the Beatles Revolver album
Great song with a tremendous beat
Banger!
Au Cameroun on aime top ce groupe... Il ya même des fan club...
I have read this could indeed start the new concerts…
It was first song at abba voyage concert last week it was awesome with live band playing 👍✅
very nice
This song is terrific and brings me in a state of deepest horror. I feel and reflect this fear of uninvited visitors who are occupiers in the song text.
Incredible how they made this song and its arrangement quite cheerful which is not common in this situation but they somehow succeeded in conveying a sense of eerie anxiety from the invading military or agents of the occupation administration
Incredible
2:35 melhor parte !
that adt in fridas vocal is SOMETHING
AWESSSSSSOME
Well done - godt lavet:-)
