    Hi guys. I've got Lexus IS220d 2009, ~155k. I use Shell Nitro+ diesel (~50 litres) and add Wynn's DPF cleaner in a black bottle (professional range). Then go on a motorway and drive on a third gear keeping my revs at 3000-3500 rpm. Speed is about 60 mph. Every 1-2 minutes I sharply accelerate to just over 4000 rpm for 5-10 seconds. It takes about 20-30 mins. So, its good to do if you go somewhere far and you have to stay on the
    motorvay for at least 30 mins. Just get your tank ready (Shell Nitro+ diesel + DPF cleaner). Good luck:)

    The all point of the DPF is to cut emissions ? If you have to drive at 3000 rpm to 3500 rpm for 20 minutes at speeds which equate to 90 mph to 110mph or revving the engine while the vehicle stopped , it completely defeats the purpose
    Vehicle's should adjust to driving habits of the owner not the other way around

    • @kristiaan1
      @kristiaan1 10 років тому +4

      Its point isn't to cut emissions as such, it's to cut particulate matter (soot), which is dangerous to the human (or any other) respiratory system. DPF actually increases the CO2 emissions (because of the regeneration cycles). The point of the regeneration process is to 'burn out well' the soot caught in the filter, making CO2 (and water) out of the carbon deposits, which is of course a bit worse for the global but way better for the local climate.

    • @SuperNiceguy60
      @SuperNiceguy60 10 років тому

      ***** you seem to talk about the (soot) and emissions like 2 different things soot is considered to be emissions , Regardless

    • @kristiaan1
      @kristiaan1 10 років тому +2

      SuperNiceguy60 Yeah, but the DPF (with regeneration cycle included) is trading one emission for others. Slightly increasing CO2 and NOx emissions in sake of getting rid of the soot, which is cancerogenic, and therefore locally more dangerous to us.
      DPF cars aren't any nicer to johnny the polar bear as Clarkson uses to say.

      ***** In my opinion is Wrong having to turn on the Engine at High RPM while the vehicle is stopped and burn additional fuel in the name of protecting the environment
      I mean this vehicle could have gone from London to Manchester , instead Wasting all this fuel while being stopped

  • @henryroot66

    Twerps not thinking on these comments. 3500 rpm can be reached at 70mph in a lower gear.

    A lot of cars are affected because sometimes a lot of people drive like old people to 'save fuel' when really this video is proof it's not good for cars and it also pisses other road users of with your slow assed acceleration from lights etc

    • @jaggass
      @jaggass 8 років тому

      +1700iDiGuy they get clogged if you dont drive them far. they have to driven long distances for them to regenerate.

      +michael jagger low revs and early gear changes also do not help, get the revs up through the lower gears and make the engine work

    Hi Owen, we charge £35 +vat. But please remember, a blocked DPF is usually a symptom of a problem not a cause. You may need work to ensure the filter doesn’t block again........

    I do long journeys Once or twice a week On the motorway at 2500 rpm to 3000rpm at 60 to 65 mph and never had a problem with my Dpf I enjoy driving on the motorway anyway so it doesn’t really bother me

    It seems a bit daft to put a diesel particulate filter on the exhaust to catch all the diesel particulate and at the end of the day you'll have to clean them out which left them all out into the atmosphere anyway

  • @martinkovii4820
    @martinkovii4820 5 років тому +1

    I understand your point but without special intake fluid you do not regenerate dpf cleaner. Simply motor do not remove all ashes etc.

      @Grahams-Grass 3 роки тому +1

      It pumps more fuel into the dpf ... which gets the temp up to over 500 degrees... not a deal will be left after reaching thst temp..

    We are being lied to , some cars like this one simply cant regenerate in the city or in The motorway 3500 rpm equates to 110 mph

    hi guys in my time ive had to do a few dpf to cars from the ones that only just run to them that have come to a stop thr fix is very easy only means getti g ur hands dirty so all i do is takr the dpf out then off to the jet wash put the end of the jet wash in the hole of the pipe and pull the trigger let the pressure of the water go inside and after a minute all the black will start coming out the other end just keep washing it out till itd runs clean water back out let it dry off or dry with an air line and thats it the last one cost me £1 two fix and an hour of my time ?

      thatgamer tho. This can't be right, surely it would completely smash the inside? Dpf's are the devil like, especially on vauxs given their crap regeneration system.

    The regeneration process pushes the engine to 3000 rpm and 3500 rpm this is at least 90 to 110 mph in the motorway

    • @NN2994
      @NN2994 8 років тому

      Too fast and why at high speeds as well for the regen

    • @SuperNiceguy60
      @SuperNiceguy60 8 років тому +2

      3500 rpm is almost the redline of most diesels
      the high speed example is to highlight how much energy , time & pollution is being wasted for no reason while the vehicle is stationary
      .
      he cold have done a Trip in low gears , that would have produced the same results
      .
      the objective is simply getting the Exhaust hot enough to burn the unwanted diesel particles blocking the exhaust

      With some cars you have to do it this way, as the dpf won't be able to regenerate on its own after the regular regeneration has been interrupted a few times. If you know your vehicle you will recognize when it's regenerating, as the current consumption will be significantly higher than normal. When this is happening, just keep driving at high rpm for a while.
