In the original, if your carry capacity was at its limit, you had to drop items to make room in order to pick up the new item if you wanted it. If you chose to leave it on the ground after having tried to pick it up it would despawn forever if you were to reload the area, so you couldn't even go back to put stuff into storage and return for the item. You had to make the decision right then and there. And whatever you removed from your inventory to pick up the new item would of course also permanently despawn. Thankfully, the Remake added the function to automatically put stuff into storage if your carry capacity was at its limit.
You asked what you did wrong with the boss weapons, the answer is that you need to give the blacksmith in the mines level the soul of the flamelurker. so if you never give him the soul or you use it for levels you're just straight locked out of using any of the boss weapons
This game was easier than Elden Ring in my personal opinion. I played it after 170 hours of Elden ring and beat the game in like 4 or 5 days. I loved every minute honestly.
Now for an added challenge get full soul level black, and full world tendency black on every level and go through new game plus. The game changes quite a bit with full black playthrough.
At around 40:00 you killed a mage sitting on a bench. And said “I probably should have talked to him. Hope he wasn’t important.” Turns out, if you didn’t kill him and decided to fight the boss that kept teleporting, then he would’ve kept reviving her at the end of the fight and you would never get the demon vanished screen until you killed him. That’s why you got the achievement after fighting her.
You wondered part way through how magic worked. You get spells like elden ring and use the mana bar to cast them. There are a couple of npcs sitting around in the nexus that sell you some beginner spells. You have to find the one guy for miracles (saint urbain, who you did find) and one guy for magic that is one of the npcs locked up in the prison sells (the key for him is hanging on the wall behind the guy above the fools idol fight). After saving them, they also show up in the nexus and you can buy spells from them, and some boss souls can be made into magic or catalysts.
Yo hey don't know if you will see this love your videos and as a person that tried to platinum this game I'm gonna list the things you asked about:1.the world tendency makes it so you can do different things like before the old hero that body that was on the rocks if you come but and have white world tendency it will be on the ground:2 boss can be used for spells by talking to the dude you saved before the old hero is in the nexus and he gives you spells that can only be obtained with a boss soul:3 to make boss weapons of course you need a boss soul but you have to give the flamelerker soul to the old black Smith that you upgrade your katana at then you can make boss weapons:
Also just saying this so you didn't have to read a big paragraph the final boss if you get his boss weapon you can fuse it with the brand sword that the guy in green gave you to make a pretty good weapon also if you want I can you some pics of boss weapon and what what waepon you need to make them
Just so you're aware, the world and character tendency are effected by killing bosses and black phantoms(raises) or dying in human form(lowers). There's certain events that only happen at pure white(acquiring certain special weapons or items) or pure black tendency(crazy black phantoms that are lore characters show up). Another thing, since you can't upgrade Demonbrandt, it actually scales it's damage based off of your character tendency, since yours was kind of neutral it did the damage of basically an unupgraded weapon. At pure white it's quite strong and at pure black it does no damage lol You can also fuse it with the soulbrandt that you picked up from King Slug. You also missed out on a few character quests and some other stuff but as you showed, demon souls is quite a short game. The 25 hours to complete probably factors in farming a couple of the pure stones because you have to do every upgrade path for trophies and not all of them can be found on the ground.
ya my first playthroughs i usually popped all boss souls for levels but then regretted it as you can get some fairly op weapons and spells across all the games. after initial playthroughs i eventually went back and platinumed most of the games and tried out alot of the boss weapons.
You have a lot more discipline than me. If I picked up weapons called the Hands of God I’d never want to use anything again! Awesome vid as always, the remake is gorgeous!
ok, so I watched the entire playthrough.. 1) can't believe u did the 2-3 boss so early lol.. what a pro.. 2) I hv a feeling bluepoint really smoothed the difficulty scaling because I remember when I first played demon souls on ps3 it was fucking brutally hard.. I guess because of all the souls experience, going back to the OG title maybe it wld seem alot slower compared to all the crazy bosses we hv now.. great vid man! I'm glad u found enjoyment in it.. what a great game ❤
Love that you did amazing on your first run through, but yeah, you missed a lot of optional bosses because they are optional but good job 👏🏽 love the video
It took a looooomg time, but the poison swamp in DS is my favorite area. Some of the nicest looking armor. It's where I fell in love with the moonlight greatsword. And the boos fight was the first moment I stopped and asked wtf am I doing in this game? It's literally where I started caring about lore in video games.
After reading an import review of this extremely difficult but rewarding game in GamesTM (A UK magazine) I packed up my X360 and games and traded them in for a new PS3, Demons' Souls Black Phantom edition and about a dozen other games. Never looked back, been following the soulsborne series since, only on console, would love to give some of the mods available on PC a go, at some point.
I played this game and got really lost. I'm a fromsoft newb when it comes to navigating these games. I know there are secrets and what not to the environment but I couldn't tell you anything about anything. Still finding stuff out about this game and it never fails to intrigue me.
I beat demons souls in 12 hours(every archdemom) and ng+ in 5 hours. The game was difficult ngl, mainly normal enemies in 5th/6th archstone area. Tower of hope wasnt too bad, just annoying cthulu things😅
If you want to fight the False King in a tougher Version just die a view Times in Boletaria Palace and reset the stage with warping out and in again. Then the World Tendency is Pure Black and every is harder do more dmg you do less dmg etc...
This is my first soulslike game that im playing and its actually frustrating watching how easily you did everything. I actually cannot understand how to upgrade my character in terms of stats and weapons. Do you have any general advice?
well you did really well against the bosses but it felt like you rushed it. you missed lots of npcs and the sorcerer and using faith and magic and the boss weapons. hope you play it again on your own and see all the other stuff it had to offer
@@curtisthecactus oh I must have missed that. Watched your other "1k hours into X" videos. Well good Sir, now I have a plan for this evening. Thanks a lot
Reapers are not black phantoms 😂😂 Black phantoms are invaders - what Dark Souls 1 called “red spirits” You also don’t NEED Demonbrandt to kill False King - although it’s very thematically appropriate. It’s mostly for NG+ because you can combine Demonbrandt and Soulbrandt into the Northern Regalia - which is really good! You can also upgrade it with “Colourless Demons’ Souls” which gets you interacting with World Tendency
@@curtisthecactus I thought that might be the case. Thanks, I just got done finishing Lies of P and I got so used to parring with anything as long as it's timed that I will have to relearn the other games lol. I guess that isn't parry per say but perfect block

great run! IMO DmS is hard by level design, but for bosses, i think the most challenging one is the flamelurker, the other bosses are easy as u just need to figure out the mechanic, or u just simply go behind and whack them till death! But the level design, black phantom (scarvis) man that is the challenge

Elden ring is a good game but 1000 hours is a little excessive. I have 600 hours into baldurs gate 3 which is arguably a far better game IMO but even 600 hrs felt excessive by the end of it. Can’t image 1000 hours.
@@JsoboneI didn’t compare them. Just said I think BG3 is the better game overall. Both are rpgs so they share some commonality. As far as how the story is executed I prefer larian over from software any day of the week. Gameplay is great in both.

There are more formsoft games. If you want the predecessor to demon souls theres kings field. Also theres always armored core as well
watching you waste firebombs on regular enemies knowing the first boss was weak to fire hurt
Just beat demon souls honestly a great game wish there were more bosses in it/ more build viability
did you forget about yhorm the giant from ds3? you also get storm ruler weapon to kill him. rykard was a similar gimmick but ds3 was the same as here

The coolest boss from Demon Souls is the Old Monk, if you're online another player is taking control of that boss.

Demon souls is hard but easy at the same time
Demons souls is incredibly easy, really the only hard part was learning to slow my timing down to match how slow the game is.
You played offline & missed the opportunity to fight an actual challenging Old Monk. (PVP)
I had the opposite experience, I completely steamrolled the player and the npc wasn't much harder.
He knew what he was doing. He didn't want to be challenged by a real player during the Old Monk fight.
