The look of pure glee on Sean's face at the beginning of the episode. He knew he was about to have some fun. RIP to the funny man, and well done to the laughing seal for managing to come out of that situation with an intact career.

After Sean's death, Jimmy spoke at length about their friendship, and how Sean's advice after the tax scandal broke was to go out there, step up, and take it square on the chin, and the banter in this episode in particular was cathartic for Jimmy. After this episode, Jimmy knew he would be ok.

These comments are weird. Jimmy Carr was engineering his finances to avoid his money going towards schools, hospitals, emergency services, infrastructure etc., but because he had a good old laugh about it, "Oh silly old me", everyone remembers the event fondly?
Sean Lock is a legend, Jimmy Carr is a colossal bellend.

@@jenniferlawrence1372 everyone in that room has just cause to be angry with Jimmy for what he did. If Jimmy holds a grudge over it, then that makes him petty. It's not anyone else's responsibility to coddle him and protect him from the consequences of his own actions. What comments and remarks he got were his due punishment, and thankfully he had enough integrity to take it like a man so bygones can be bygones.
Now, if Jon to this day refuses to let it go and keeps on nagging him, that would be an entirely different matter. But I somehow doubt that's the case.

Great, in the truest sense, episode. You gave a master-class in how to keep delivering high-quality work while you're in the firing line. Only you'll know how true this is, but it certainly looked to me as though not only the panellists but the audience genuinely appreciated the fact that you were taking the flak like a champ without trying to justify yourself, at a point your career must genuinely have felt at risk. I've seen you talking about the anxiety attacks you experienced at the time-I'm on meds for the condition myself and can understand how overwhelming some of those moments must have been.

HMRC basically cut a deal with people like Jimmy and ask him how he did it, they then make you pay a fine and nothing criminal happens to you. See section 86, part 6 of the Finance Act 2022
