Joe’s poem has to go down in Countdown history as one of the greatest moments. Not even Sean can hold it together and that’s an accomplishment in itself. RIP Sean
Someone who was at that taping said that it took a long time to finish the poem because Joe was breaking up constantly and the audience (and panel) was in hysterics. The only thing I wished is they had shown Rachel and Susie's reactions. They may have had to take a break to re-apply makeup.
"What have you been looking into recently other than glory holes" That one caught everyone off guard perfectly. Just like when rachael wore the skiing beard and sean said: "Thats a challenging wank" 🤣 lmao
@@superowl64 " I knew I've won when I heard 3 of the judges throwing up behind me..." he barely holds himself together during his bit, while Claudia next to him is unable to function as a person. RIP Sean
The No. 1: Even Joe Wilkinson can’t hold it together…and he wrote the bit! And Katherine Ryan’s reaction to “Mrs. Furnsby” is priceless. But the best part of the clip is Sean’s uncontrollable laughter…and his begging “please stop”! This has always been my favorite 8 o 10 Cats moment. I watch it at least thrice a week 🤣
Yeah Ryan's "wh-whaaahhht" cracks me up every time, like she’s literally there about to ask this figurative guy what the ever loving fuck he thinks he’s doing
With Rachel wearing her glasses and Aisling wearing the wig I couldn't tell the difference between them. Also love Rachel's attempt at her accent making Aisling crack up immediately. Errrm yes I got it 😂😂
Sean's whole pregame segment (Seal clubbing, Rectum of the Year) was pure gold. The Challenging Wank was the topper, especially when Rachel later said that her father was in the audience that night.
I only ever watched the odd countdown clips and loads of QI. I still don't know why, but Sean's passing really hit me hard. I'm so glad Bill Bailey organised a charity walk on his behalf. He seemed like a genuinely decent guy and he's very much missed.
Here I am, laughing and smirking at these funny little moments...and then out of nowhere comes Joe's poem. I had probably last seen that episode about maybe a year ago and wasn't really expecting it. How do the panelists not wet themselves laughing so hard? 😂😂
This is probably the closest thing. The Carol Burnett Show and Tim Conway's Elephant Story - ua-cam.com/video/3qqE_WmagjY/v-deo.html. The end is priceless.
Being from America I have no idea who these people are (other than Jimmy Carr) or what the show is, but after having a clip pop up on my YT recommendations I sought out some more Sean Hook videos. The man is a comedy genius! I say IS because after some comments that he has passed his brilliant humour IS still alive for new fans like me. RIP sir and thank you. The gentleman's poem at the end had me crying (literally) with laughter and that was partly due to Sean Hook's reaction. We got the reruns in America of Monty Python back in the early 70's and I own most of what they ever did (including the scripts from the show). Forty years later I am finding this, and I'm having the same feelings of ecstasy and surprise that there are humans THIS funny in the world. It gives me hope. You Brits don't know how lucky you are!
'Rectum of the Year' had me laughing so hard I couldn't breathe XD The ending 'he set the sprinklers off' had me shout-laughing so much it hurt, such a good joke~
@@kbdude8 I only watch this show, I've never watched the original. I've seen carrot in a box. Was it a one off on the other or something? It was definitely on this show.
Beverley Whipple did not discover the G spot. Ernst Grafenberg discovered it in 1941 - at that time Beverley Whipple was six years old. Whipple did write a book on the subject in 1982 - more than 40 years after it had been discovered .
To everyone commenting “why is this not in the list?”: This video does not claim to be a top 10 of the funniest moments. All your favourite moments are already in other compilations, and this is just another compilation of funny clips.
The brilliant thing about Joe's poem, is its a poem about violating the number one rule of the guy code. Which is: "when at the public urinal, thou shalt not look neither to the right, nor to the left, thou shalt only look straight down." Not only does it violate that sacred rule, but it goes so far as to give them a name.
I was waiting for the "What have you been looking into..." clip to show up. Joe of all people losing his composure and attempting to say "the most unnecessary..." through his laugher makes it even funnier. I think I remember Jimmy saying in an interview that early in the series run he wouldn't lay into Suzy since she was seen as a more serious person than the rotating pannel of mostly commedians, but Suzy told him to go for it... and it seems he did.

No it was fake/ironic laughter. The poem was not funny.
@@barryjenkinson9152 then you clearly have no idea about humour. Don’t watch the fucking show if that’s your opinion.
When Sean laughs like that, you know it was a good joke. Rest in peace you legend.
Absolutely. Utter legend. So lovely to see him laughing uncontrollably. Such a huge loss 💙
Congratulations on actually writing "Rest in peace", instead of just the lazy "RIP".
He’s dead! :(
Joe's poem genuinely seems like one of the best times of Sean's life. Makes me so happy.
The only one that ever topped Joe's poem was Sean's "That's a Challenging Wank". one of the greatest ever things said on telly.
I just watched that episode and it had me in shambles x'D

How about the rectum of the year award

Seeing everyone laughing uncontrollably with Joes "Naming" poem is so relieving (stress / anxiety -wise).
It gives me a throbbing ache in the back of my head from laughing so hard, but the good kind of pain that I masochistically return to again and again.
Someone who was at that taping said that it took a long time to finish the poem because Joe was breaking up constantly and the audience (and panel) was in hysterics. The only thing I wished is they had shown Rachel and Susie's reactions. They may have had to take a break to re-apply makeup.

I love Joe but oddly enough I didn't find this that funny.
Loved when Rachel did her impression of Aisling, Richard had to hide his smile to keep in character
“Errrm…yesh Jimmy…” 🤣😂🤣
The noise Aisling makes, such a genuine reaction.
Aisling's splurt at Rachell's Irish accent is the absolute best. Gotta love Aisling, funny, clever, beautiful.
Seeing Sean laugh that hard is a great memory. RIP to the GOAT.
How many of us have listened to Joe's poem more than 20 times and STILL laugh? 🤣
I wish I could watch it for the first time every time. It took me 15 minutes to get through the poem. My jaw hurt from laughing so much
Absolute comedy gold

I remember the first time I heard it a bit of wee came out specially when he said hello police officer….😂

Sean telling Miles Jupp he won't spit on him should be on this list
For me the funniest part of that was Jupps reply. “Good luck trying it without spit”
