Hey can you make a video on the buying experience !! I’ll love to build one but really what to know the process from placing the order to receiving it at your door . It’s so nerve-racking because I have found a way to see the company and where my moneys going. My hats off to you he was brave making this move .
Lol your dad is a nutter, I can’t believe he signed up for another car! I’m anxious to get more photos and videos of your dad’s build! I’m happy to hear he is not getting bored in retirement!
@@CamThai yup. He is crazy when it comes to building cars, or anything for that matter. I’ll say Cam is waiting for updates 🙃 Yea he is really living life i guess. I also want to get started with something like you guys. Just need to buy a house first…
Really want to build one. Kinda just wish it'd fit more exotic engine options easily. Toyota v12s can be had cheap and some parts are available for hopping them up. VW w12s. Enough inline 6 engines. If you know where to look various v10s. Lamborghini v10s being able to be sourced from a donor car for 10k to 12k With the rest of the car now part-able. And as much as it's sort of against the idea of the car. A pdk transmission would be cool. With the chassis the way it is and removing the other modern aspects and such you could get an experience similar to newer full on race cars but road legal. And still have a manual option. But a few more engine options and transmission options doesn't hurt. And a full carbon body might make full on built versions more compelling for the rich. Shit even just limited edition full on carbon production versions for the rich used to fund molds for diy panels.
@@bmxriderforlife1234 I’m not sure what you’re talking about. This car is fully customizable from the factory - if you have the funds for it you can order a full body in carbon fiber. There’s a full carbon bodied GTR out there already. As for Powertrain options, you can fit whatever you want, contact the factory and they’ll work with you to get whatever chassis and frame mods are required to make your engine and trans fit.
@@CamThai looked at the site and didn't see any carbon options on the slc. If I'm not mistaken doesn't the gtr use a different body. But cool to know. And I know Fran has helped with engine swaps but I've looked into them. They aren't easy and usually issues. And obviously with money yes. But if it had been designed a little different it could accept more options as is. And if I'm not mistaken isn't the ls an engine swap into it in the first place. Pretty sure it was originally designed around the twin Hayabusa engine.
@@CamThai oh btw. There's an audi 4 door with a Lamborghini engine. You can get them cheap. Think it's the same engine in the r8. And if you live in a big enough city wrecking yards sometimes have engines from exotics. Vw w12 is used in the Bentley w12 cars but twin turboed. Already kinda looked into it. Apparently it'd be alot of work to fit a 2jz. Which means alot of the options I bring up are gonna be alot of work. The Benz v10 one took time and was a tight fit from what I've read up as well. While trying not to hit 100k or 170k price tags like I've seen. Engines other then the ls and lt are kinda out of range. Other then like a v6 rotorary or maybe a 4 cylinder.
@@bmxriderforlife1234 you have a lot of ideas about what this car is and you’re off the mark on a lot of them. Yes the GTR is a different body - but if you want a full carbon bodied SLC it can be done foe the right price. It’s not offered as a standard option because no one has said or paid for it - but it can be had with enough money. The term “easy” is relative, this isn’t an “easy” car to build. If you’re looking for something you can put together like a LEGO set then this isn’t the car for you. What does that even mean - “if it had been designed a little differently …” how would you have designed it so it could fit some of these exotic engines you’re talking about and what compromises or cost increases would those design changes have imposed on the overall car? Unless you’re a chassis engineer and have that already figured out it’s pretty easy to armchair quarterback.
I love this car

Ok
Watched some of your vids now. Looks good!

I wish they offered full carbon panels for the car. You could get nicer body panel gaps and it'd last longer.
