Speaking of Björk and Death Grips, one of the coolest things sample-wise has to the fact that Death Grips made one half of The Powers That B entirely with Björk vocal demos that she sent to them personally. That's just sick. Great video bud
MY favorite sample containing song is Face to Face by Daft Punk. The song contains 20 known samples, but around 70 were curated and cut down to a smaller amount during the production process.
5:46 just to clear this up, this was disproven to be the sample for Rainbow Six, the sample is Wet's "Don't Wanna Be Your Girl (Autoharp Demo)" unrelated to that, Miku being sampled on Big Boi's "Kill Jill" and Future's "712PM" is one of the coolest sample choices ever
Heard of Bon Iver for the first time on the new charli remix album and somehow didn't have the idea to check the project out. Now you come along and gave me the soundtrack for walking through an autumn forest. Amazing!
As someone who used to be a major Successionhead myself, my mind was blown at how innocuous and unremarkable the line they sampled in context was, especially considering all the other insane things the characters on the show say all the time. What a find!
One of my favourite ones that I discovered recently is "Ping Pong" by Anti-Pop Consortium. They sample the sound of a ping pong ball being hit back and forth and flip that into a beat. It's both weird and cool at the same time
The live version of Hotter Than Hell by KISS on their album Alive! from 1975 was sampled by N-JOI on their song Adrenalin on their Adrenalin EP in 1991. A slowed version of this appeared on the song I'm Raving by L.A. Style on their single I'm Raving/L.A. Style Theme (aka. I'm Raving/O Si Nene) in 1992. Later, the faster sample from Adrenalin was used in the stage Quartz Quadrant (Bad Future) in the Japanese and PAL versions of Sonic CD in 1993, and even later, said sample was used for the main level music of the planet Umbris in the original Ratchet and Clank in 2002.
My contender is always gonna be daft punks face to face. Using over a 100 samples and when you realise the samples are actually in sync with some of the lyrics of the song by twisting the sound of the sampled lyrics into the meaning of their song is insane
The most single most impressive and creative feat in sampling to me atleast is the song sleep dealer by oneotrix point never. The song is made just from samples from a gum ad, and manipulation of the samples to turn an otherwise cookie cutter ad into one of the best ambient/electronic songs ever made.
Idk you’ll see this but you should really check out Volcanic Bird Enemy And The Voiced concern by Lil Ugly Mane. It’s just such a great fucking album, easily my favorite of all time, and if you see this comment and have the time to check it out I highly recommend it because it’s just so good. It also has some really good samples
im lowkey sick of people meatriding new jpegmafia and acting like sampling tv shows is "insane" and novel when this album has been his worst and most uninspired compared to his past albums. throwing away your morals to work with a neo will really throw away your authenticity as well

GORILLAZ MENTIONED 🗣🗣🗣🗣🗣
Full Moon (Death Classic) also samples a Zach Hill track Googi Respect so the Björk remix is also technically a sample sampling a sample

someone FINALLY talks abt Gorillaz when talking abt samples
My favorite sample is Super Cat - Ghetto Red Hot being sampled for Red Hot Skull by Sega sound team for the Red mountain stage.
My favorite sample is the Berzerk arcade machine voicelines sampled in 54 cymru beats by aphex twin
Dude I love that song by Alabaster dePlume, and I had no idea!
production value is crazy bro 🔥
Another cool sample is SOPHIE - Infatuation Lichtbogen Dreamin' Remix / Original: Les Rythmes Digitales - Dreamin'
The editing in this video was insane

Another Jake Classic Hell yeah
Clint Eastwood is good, but the symbolism of the drum sample in Dirty Harry blows me and anyone the fuck away
4:3 is the superior video resolution
omg evilgiane mentioned i love you

how did you manage to make eating taco bell aesthetic
I wanna add a cool Trip Hop song using a sample: Hooverphonic's Vinegar & Salt -> Je me repose by Dalida. ^^
