I was thinking that, or that the eye could be the fear of feeling like everyone's watching you, that you constantly have to do your best because you don't wanna let down the expectations of how others see you. Japanese culture is very big on respect and social acceptance, for example in schools most kids are expected to look the same (dress code and hairstyles have to be a certain way) and that goes all the way up to job hunting. Growing up in japan, kids are constantly expected to be good kids and not let anyone down. Which is why i think the eye represents the eyes of society. Imo its also another reason why people are afraid of loneliness, they think that if people leave and if they're alone, that it means they're just not good enough.
Some little facts about the world of Little Nightmares 2: *There are 249 patients within the Pale City hospital. *There is a metal band titled “Death Burger” *There are two male bullies named Truls and Benny, and then there is a female bully name Jennifor. *The children featured in the Little Nightmares 2 comics have in-game models and animations that were intended to make an appearance within the campaign. They can bee seen through the game files. *The taxidermy dad seen within the Hunter’s cabin was intended to fall out of his seat and onto the floor to startle the player while in the dinning room. *The ending sequence with Mono’s transformation was originally going to be much longer. I believe it was showing that Mono was physically tied to his chair and is struggling to break free. As he ages, the struggling is less frequent, and then he stops. *We were originally going to see a teenage Mono. *There is a child with a ghost sheet whose nicknamed “Spirit.” He is not the same child featured in the Little Nightmares 2 comics. *The eye entity seen chasing Mono and Six through the crumbling Black Tower is called “Flesh Walls.” *We were originally going to have an enemy that essentially acted the same way the stone-turning eyes did in the Maw, though this time it is an actual eye looking through a television.
Some people say that little nightmares one is an allegory for child abuse, how trauma can turn children into the monsters that made them. How the maw is an orphanage and such as well.
This also explains your motive behind destroying Six's music box. When Mono arrives to 'rescue' Six, he finds that she's playing with her music box -unwilling to leave. Unlike the other sentient monsters in the game Six isn't initially hostile towards you, even presenting the music box to you to play with. It's not until you start destroying her toy that she becomes aggressive. When Six was taken away, Mono immediately goes to get her back. However, once he finds her he sees she's happily sitting alone playing with her precious toy like she did at the start of the game. This shocks Mono, who's been alone for most of his life and thought Six would be as anxious to get back to him as he was to get back to her -seeing her as a nightmare for the very first time. Jealous and afraid to be alone, he blames the music box for Six's change and throws a tantrum to destroy the music box. He shouts and taunts her and eventually smashes her music box to pieces. Expecting Six to change back to who she used to be, there's an eerie change to her demeanor when she returns to her childlike form when she stands up to look at you. You're no longer friends. And so, at the end of the game, Six abandons Mono who falls into despair. *Bonus thought: The eyes surrounding you at the end of the game could be a metaphor for how Mono feels alone and judged or watched by people around him without a friend to be around him. The sudden disappearance of the eyes resembles Mono's detachment from society completely.
@@wilsere1048 welp, not exactly evil tho, I mean it's a common sense for Mono to get Six back to his side. But the thing is people often forget that both Mono and Six are still kids. It's only natural for Mono to want Six back from the signal tower and so is true for Six to get mad after her music box is destroyed (even tho that box is no good for her).
The ending when six betrays mono could be a metaphor for six almost leaving mono. He met her at first around the cabin and then they went to school together. Six gets taken away at the school by the kids which could resemble her making new friends and ditching mono. In the hospital, mono also does a lot of the tasks on his own, this could suggest that six was rarely there for mono when he was in hospital with his parent. At the end six lets mono fall and this could be her moving on (to the maw) and leaving mono behind, constantly remembering his life events like a nightmare
The problem is though... A note from a developer(idk if its official) that LN 2 is a sequel. If this is true, that explains the place where you can see corrupted Six, it is her memories, the briefcase in LN 1 can be seen at the back of the room.

what if mono’s dad suffered an accident while hunting where mono shot him in the face (hunter has a hole in his head) but he survived, was in the hospital having to get facial surgery/a prosthetic and ended up dying from his injuries, mono goes to boarding school but gets bullied, and he ends up scared of being alone, sadly blaming himself so he maybe copes with his tv. thin man is locked in a tiny room, no windows, depressed, just sitting there waiting in his own personal lonely nightmare. your theory is one of the best dude
As a kid you often imagine different things based on your experience, tv shows you have watched etc. Hunter's place looks so out of touch with the world, it seems like it was fully recreated, based on things Mono could see on some discovery channel. What if his dad couldn't stand life any longer and decided to end his life in the woods but got rescued and Mono was next to him in the hospital while dad was there in the critical state? So he couldn't understand why dad got injured and imagined some hunting accident, it could be the story he told in the orphanage to the kids or something.
@@slavapie oh it was probably what his dad wanted to escape to. Some people have thoughts about dealing with job, daily assignments and want to get out into the fresh air. Which would be why Mono heads there because of how good his dad talks about it

Maybe the eye symbol is a metaphor for children’s parents. How there’s so controlling and look down at you, and in the end want to make you into something like them
I have something that fits into the theory. We know that Mono is a commentary on loneliness, and you mentioned modern-day Japanese males, The Thin Man being a representation of that. What if Yhe Lady is a commentary on a different side of the coin. We can tell that The Lady hides behind a mask, trying to look beautiful. You can see this is modern-day females, and a lot specifically in Aisa. I think The Lady represents the beauty standard/some kind of idol or celebrity. She is the perfect standard, thin and beautiful, but behind that mask, she can't even keep up with the trends she sets herself.
That also plays into the whole food theme Little Nightmares had, all the massive enemies in the game just gorging down food while the Lady is the only one slim. It could be a warning for women to watch their weight, to not get tempted by gluttony in order to achieve one's perfect self. I'm not sure what her being able turn children into nomes have to do with it but i'm sure someone could pitch in with an idea that still fits into Japanese culture and lore.
I've heard that in Japan Women dont want themselves to be above even 60kg or something like that They'll not be accepted by society if they weight more than that Idk explain me if any body knows
@@lmaoded1550 Saying that they wont be accepted in society would be an exaggeration and its increasingly less rare to see people who weigh more than average in Japan nowadays but yes many women who are of average height (160cm) see 60kg as the line to cross when it comes to weight.
5:50 this is sad but what if the TV's aren't just about the viewers but about his dad? What if Mono's dad neglected him in favor of his TV so Mono sees everyone else like this too. And this could be why he's so lonely, his dad neglected him before getting hurt during the hunting trip and he had no friends so that's why.
@@ito-kun7640 That's true, in all honesty Mono would've been the quiet kid so they would all seem crazy and reckless in contrast with him which explains their behavior, that's how he views them.
@@hi-xp4xj it’s very weird, Six is the hero because six knew that Mono is the tall guy so he/she dropped Mono into that body whatever u call it, but Mono is also not bad because he got dropped and sat on the chair for very long until he grew up and got revenge to kill Six because he/she dropped him, you get what I mean?
@Elene Wachberger yea that is correct, six dropped mono into that thing and he aged a lot and became the tall guy then he tried to kill six and himself but younger, it’s so confusing
Mono is not turning into Thin man, Mono is turning into his dad : tall (for a child perspective), always dressed for work with a sad face. Thin man is a loop of how he remembered his dad.
This is my theory as well! I personally think that the original Thin Man is Mono's father (or even grandfather, considering how old his model looks). This would explain why they have identical supernatural abilities, and any similarities in facial features could be explained away by this theory, too. Him becoming the Thin Man at the end could be a metaphor for neglected or abused children growing up to be the very thing they once hated. :(
Adding onto this theory I think mono was bullied during his time in school by his classmates because all the school children are called the bullies and they seems to attack mono everytime he gets near them even though mono has done nothing but just walk by this can also explain why he is really lonely in school also the bullies seem to act like normal kids when the teacher is in front of them but when the teacher is gone they go crazy
They act that way in front of her because they probably don’t want to know the consequences if they don’t and when she’s not around they get to be crazy
Also, it’s until you wear that bully hat and they won’t attack you because you look the same, as well everyone else. I think this points to Mono being bullied. He was bullied for being different then anyone else, maybe cause of his eyes that are just fully black. Which could also be his reason for wearing the paper hat.
@@anastasia_852 Exactly, Mono only needed to get trapped inside the signal tower and grow up in there and the fleshy entity that creates the broadcast could send him as a thrall to whatever time the broadcast has existed. Thin Man physically looks like a glitch that has escaped the TV because the future Mono AKA Thin Man is stuck inside the tower.
@@taicox6636 I'm just suggest that someone does a video like this one, only instead of describing how Little Nightmares 2 is Mono's personal nightmare, they describe how LN1is Six's, and how different characters and locations there give us clues about her "real" life. ^u^

@@vangdit0668 why are you getting all ofensive toward me. I never said the it was wrong, I just asked if they had any solid proof. I'm not the one who made the theory.
If this theory is true, then at the beginning of the first game, we can see the thin man suicide, and that's also a huge problem that happened around the middle age group in Japan. It is quite sad actually, the best country that brought happiness, entertainment and escaped from the cruel society to the world, cannot bring happiness to themself. But perhaps that's the reason they became so creative.... because they truly want to escape from it.
I really like your theory about this game being in a Japanese City. Another thing that points to that idea is the large amounts of suicides taking place in the game. Japan has one of the largest numbers of suicide each year. Also, chapter of little nightmare with all the fat guest gorging themselves on food really reminded me of the scene from spirited away where Chihiro’s parents are turned into pigs.
Monos mother dies in some sort of way leading monos dad to go into a depression, he gets "sucked into the tv" and rarely never keeps his head away from it, mono feels all alone hence his name mono and his father sees how sad he is and takes him on a trip to the family hunting cabin when mono gets there he's still a little decided from his dad but overtime he gets more happy and energetic, they go out hunting and mono accidentally shoots his father, while mono is in the hospital he sees amputees because he probably shot one of his father's limbs off ( probably his arm because the hunter looks like his arm is falling off) while in the hospital mono is probably shamed for severely hurting his father which causes him to put a paper bag over his head, he also sees the doctor giving the amputees new limbs which only makes him feel worse about making his father one of them, he's probably very scared of the doctor too because he probably shamed him alot, monos father is realeased from the hospital and sends mono to a boarding school, the school is probably for bad children which is why all the kids are bullies (it also ties into the fact that he would be shamed for shooting his dad), the teacher was clearly very strict and saw everything, he probably met 6 in the school to so they probably had a good friend ship, until mono was forced to come home to take care of his father, where once again he never kept his eyes off the tv and would scold mono and almost attack him for pulling his attention from the tv, his father died and mono is forced to stay at the school until he's an adult, six eventually leaves the school and also leaves mono behind, mono becoming the thin man is a representation of the average adult who has to twork to live and mono lives the rest of his days alone making up this false reality that is the game we play until he decides to go on to the maw and see six (the lady) and wants to reconnect but she wants nothing to do with him and he sadly kills him self becoming the hanging body on the beginning of LN1
I love this theory. It also helps explain the end: the whole time, he thinks he's Six's savior. Six sees this as a "misery loves company" type of situation. Also, she's always the one having to encourage Mono to jump the gaps, rather than being the other way around. If you think about Six's hunger appearing after she 'dumps him,' that's her ambition kicking in. She's off to the Maw, to take on the 'fat cats,' and dethrone the Lady of the establishment.
@@Tericho or what about the black children in the comics it clearly has a connection with them what are they are dead and burn to death or who knows he could have been the only white kid
@@Tericho okay the only parent we have ever seen and only only regular human adults is the hanging man and the lady the Thin Man doesn't count he was turned into a monster and he was already a monster from the beginning of his life
Hello?! This theory actually made way more sense! That explains why Six letting go of Mono is perceived by him as a betrayal. Despite the growth of their friendship, they'll part some time in their lives. Six had to go onto her own path, and because of the separation, Mono is shrouded in loneliness. The chronic hunger she later encounters could be her need to search for something that would fulfill her. It's awesome to see the franchise tying to real life events! Everything in the game could be metaphors or exaggeration of what and how a child sees the world and the people!
I feel bad for my guy Mono he was alone for his whole life and when he genuinely loved someone (six) she betrayed him trapping him to darkness and loneliness for the rest of his life :(
@ZOE RALSTON she had no good reason too tbh because remember along the way in the present little nightmares, six meets seven and no eating takes place w him so I mean
Theory for the ending: Six never sees mono without his mask canonically before she is kidnapped, yes? If Mono and thin man are the same, then they'd share the same face logically. Six probably got a good look at thin man's face. Mono takes his mask off to fight thin man. Then between being a monster and racing to the exit, the first sight Six gets of Mono's face is when she's holding him from falling. I'd imagine she'd be looking at her kidnappers face again, thus trying to escape she lets go. Thoughts?
⚠️SPOILERS: My theory below. Very Long⚠️ As Six Wiki states: "In the secret post credits scene, Six arrives back in an room through a TV, seemingly horrified by what she just did to Mono as she looks around and slowly stands before being approached by a distorted and dark shadow version of herself, a remnant of what she had just gone through after being taken by the Thin Man. The Shadow Six looks towards a poster of the Maw, before fizzling and fading away into the wind, then Six's stomach begins to rumble with a loud, deep hunger as she stares off into the camera, obscured by shadow." Her Description: Awakening in a world she cannot recognise, Six must learn to trust someone else if she is to stand a chance of survival. She has already seen more than any normal child ever should, but then... Six is not a normal child. My Theory; Six was hungry. Who knows how long she went without eating while in the Hunter's Home. We know she gets hungry fast, and when hungry she gets aggressive. Aggressive survival instincts kicks in, example her eating a gnome in Little Nightmares I despite it offering her a sausage. I think we can see proof of this as in LN1, the lights slowly get darker as she gets hungrier. In LN2, during certain cutscene later on in the game (the one that come to mind is her picking up her raincoat), the same light effect happens. . . As if she's starting to get hungry. During the end, towards the "betrayal" i believe that Six wasn't in her right mind. As the wiki states, she felt horrified. Six trusted Mono, she had to for survival and eventually saw a friendship. She was the one constantly pulling him away from the TV's when he would go to them when she could have just left. I believe that it started to change as the Thin Man took her, since then she wasn't the same Six. Combined with her hunger, kidnapping by the Thin Man, and splitting into two before rejoining. I believe that the distorted version of her took over while in the tower.
@@annamakara that’s a very interesting theory! And I can totally see that she wasn’t herself. Though I do believe that even before the Thin Man took Six, she already exuded some sort of darkness within her.
That's why I think she dropped him too! That and that she was upset at him for destroying her coping tool, but I think the first one was the nail in the coffin for her.
Well understandable, that also make what six really is... She wasn't evil, maybe they are childhood friend, maybe she's the only emotional holder for him after all that nightmarish things he thought happen. But she and "her mom", the lady has to move out of the neighbourhood and that left him alone again, hence the ending why six drop him in the end.. and six's nightmare is, well, part 1 of the game which we already played
I've always thought about the fact that the little nightmares world is actually a metaphorical world. Parents these days always do their things ignoring their child that makes them lonely. I think sixs' monster in the end was a respresntation of a friend changing while you remain the same. Wait.... thats actually quite dumb.
I've been saying this since the first day the game came out. It's the only thing that makes sense to me with the plot of the story and the title. I feel like each setting we see is a different child's nightmare in some type of shared nightmare reality. The Pale City is Mono's. The MAW is Six's. I say that because each setting has a theme it follows. The Pale City is built around television consumption. The MAW is built on hunger and overconsumption, but ultimately hunger. Six is hungry. The guests cant fill their hunger. The Lady runs an eating establishment. What i think is interesting and it's a stretch for sure but hear me out... Everyone has said they think Mono is predestined to turn into the Thin Man in some form or fashion in most theories. BUT, i think in this nightmare realm, the thin man is the ultimate manifestation of Mono's fears and demons. Just like the Lady is Six's. That begs the question as to WHY mono turns into a darkened, thin man. This part helps connect the mysterious tall man from LN 1 into this and explain his presence in the story. I think that tall man that hung himself is Mono's father. I think mono saw his father hanging and that trauma from that image created the Thin Man (a hanging body with broken neck and dangling limbs gives the appearance of a stretched, thin body). This explains why the hallway leads to the room and the chair and thin man that looks so much like the room, chair and man hanging in LN 1.
i LOVE how both games work on both a meta, metaphorical level, AND on an in-game, rich story level. like obviously, in the world of the game, there are all these timelines and story and mystery. but i love how even if we step back outside of the game world, there is still analysis to be had. some people think that both games being nightmares would ruin it, but i love it, i think it makes it deep on not only an in-universe level, but also on a level of looking at it from outside.
I have a similar theory. I also think it’s Mono’s nightmare and I think the first game is Six’s nightmare and here is their story Mono and Six are siblings. Their parent/parents got sick and died. The social services placed them with their abusive uncle (the hunter) they escape from him. The social services find out about this and try to get to them placing them somewhere else. The thin man is a social worker and Six and Mono run from him because they know they will be separated. The thin gets Six and takes her to his office, Mono attempts to break Six out but they get caught and placed in different homes. Mono felt that Six didn’t try hard enough when it can to sticking together and that she let him down. Six might have caused someone to get really badly hurt and now she fears that she will turn into a monster.

yes. six thought dropping him and ultimately killing him would break the cycle, but actually dropping him CONTINUED the cycle. but she didn’t know that
My analysis on the Barber, who is definitely an interesting character. We have seen his portrait within one of the corridors of the Pale City school and within the residential quarters of the Governess, meaning the Barber has some sort of relationship with the Governess. This may indicate that he is a rather influential figure within the Pale City. Similar to how both the Teacher and Doctor have their portraits featured in the residential quarters of the Maw and are incredibly impactful within the Pale City. The Barber owns his own barber shop which is located somewhere within Pale City. The inside is quite well-kept, which is in complete contrast with the many dilapidated apartment complexes that surround him. The Barber seems incredibly sadistic towards children, as he attempts to kill any within sight with his hair-cutting scissors. Though this is common among most adults.

Theory: when Mono goes into the TV, this is him trying to accessing his memories where he’ll see the tall man. Six pulls his out to stop him finding his memories and realising that he was betrayed and became the tall man. As then he wouldn’t help six escape the nightmare. Might be a stretch but hey ho 😂
Maybe the pictures of the missing part of the brain showed in the hospital could help this and could maybe explain why the hunter only has one eye hole on the bag

This is my theory✨ I think that mono remembers all the bad things that happened in his past and has nightmares about it, and every time he tries to wake up when he is about to get to that door on the tv six gets him because she is trying to use mono to save herself, so if she lets him go then she won’t be able to save herself, but then when mono was able to reach the door to scape the nightmare, he noticed it was not a dream anymore, and that he had to turn into what used to scare him, the tall man who I think COULD be his dad, which basically means that he did not wanted to be that way but everyone expected him to be like his father.
Really like this theory! What if the locations in little nightmares 2 are a reverse order of mono’s life before the nightmare? His parent worked for the broadcast tower, so went all over the city installing and fixing TV sets. This could also explain his powers as he would have a much deeper understanding of how they work than a normal person. His parent falls ill and the trauma of the hospital attacks mono until the parent dies and is sent of to an orphanage. The school. Orphans often grew up separated from other children and with many psychological issues. Mono meets the teacher who seems kind, plays piano and welcomes him. He is quickly set upon by bullies and sees that if one bully is fought back against, a group will gang up on the victim. On top of this the teacher is actually hawk eyed and abusive. Mono then runs away and manages to cross the water and comes across a lone family in the cabin. The hunter is clearly the head of the house and the rest are all hollow and scared of doing anything against the word of the hunter. Mono sees the basement and the taxidermy and runs further into the woods. The freshest memories are the clearest and most grounded, growing more distorted and abstract the further back they go.

I really really hope the developers of the game will see your videos!!! It's so extremly interesting and i always agree with almost everything in your different theorys.
One of the things I really like about this series is that it has both a straight forward plot, and really interesting themes. Like, yeah. Little Nightmares 2 is about 2 children traveling through a dilapidated city to stop a “monster,” but it’s also about the existential horror of being a child with little to no autonomy (especially in a horrible situation such as abuse), and how the cycle of abuse perpetuates itself unless we are helped out of it. It’s honestly brilliant, and I love how deeply the themes are baked into every aspect of the storytelling.
Maybe the reason the Hunter has a hole in the bag and the raspy breath because he saw his dad accidentally (or purposely) shoot himself in the face. The last memory of his Dad was sitting in the hospital listing to his raspy breathing.

coming back to this theory after the sounds of nightmares podcast; it actually fits super well!! in episode 3 of the podcast, the entire theatre noone is in is based on moments of her past, where there's a giant eye-blob monster that wants her to stay with it because it's lonely, at the end. this literally feels like a carbon copy of ln2 - if we go off this theory - with everything in the pale city being based on mono's past outside of the nowhere, and the end of the game resorting in being surrounded by an eye-blob creature that also kind of doesn't want to be lonely...
Mono saving six was Mono irl helping a girl out in a difficult time. Later, Mono started to see her true colours ( the rain coat ) and began to like her. The ending is Six friend-zoning Mono. r i p
Theory is brilliant. But Mono’s life that was discussed here, I think, was actually his real life in the real world, and when he went to the Nowhere (like in the Sounds of Nightmares) it was an exaggeration of the badness of his life. Another point about being lonely, is the names of the protagonists in the game to come - Low and Alone. Perhaps that had a similar thing to do with the meaning of Mono…
you know, out of all of the theories i've listened to this theory by far is the most logical one and in a VERY good way. So huge props to the guy who made this video and the theory.
@@trunksx2497 do you know where they are?? im gonna hold them hostage, a fricken 10 year old doesn't deserve this, yet again mono was litereally birthed by a Tv
When I was a child, I had a reoccurring nightmare in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, and there was always a snowstorm outside. Every time, my mother would leave me alone at home to go to the store, and while she was gone, a creature would come try to catch me. Every time I was caught, the dream ended. The idea of Little Nightmares being a nightmare is the way I initially interpreted it because repeating the same scenario in an alternate world and trying to get a different outcome was the reality of my sleeping life. If LN is a nightmare, it would explain why there is a time paradox, why it appears that Mono knows where he is going, and why it appears that elements in this world can be remembered. Additionally, some of my nightmares involved switching perspectives. I may have spent part of the story in my body, but I would also spend some parts in the body of another significant character, a friend, or in another life within the same world. This would explain why we play as different characters throughout the series. I don't know that everyone has similar childhood experiences, but if so, Little Nightmares being a nightmare is the most believable explanation.
At 9:38 before six drops mono he looks up at her then she drops him so maybe six knew about thin man but didn't know who he was, she helped mono not knowing what he looked like and then when he took his hat off and looked up at her she got a clear view of his face which is why she dropped him. If his hat was still on him i believe six would have still taken him with her not knowing he was thin man
Great theory, makes sense! Also the glitched remains seem to be fragments of Mono's memories and finding them all gives you a secret ending, encouraging you to pursue additional optional hidden information.
Theory: eye entity uses children's imagination to twist reality into a nightmare.
This needs more recognition
The eye entity is actually what becomes of the viewers when they are sucked into their TV wich in turn is the signal tower.
This might make a bit more sense
Makes sense
Some little facts about the world of Little Nightmares 2:
*There are 249 patients within the Pale City hospital.
*There is a metal band titled “Death Burger”
*There are two male bullies named Truls and Benny, and then there is a female bully name Jennifor.
*The eye entity seen chasing Mono and Six through the crumbling Black Tower is called “Flesh Walls.”
*We were originally going to have an enemy that essentially acted the same way the stone-turning eyes did in the Maw, though this time it is an actual eye looking through a television.
Wdym about the dad falling?
@@diegohodge7257 He was intended to fall out of his seat and onto the floor to startle the player while in the dinning room.
Big brain
Source please
Do you think the detention chair would have been purposeful symbolism reappearing frequently had Mono been tied to his chair at the end
Some people say that little nightmares one is an allegory for child abuse, how trauma can turn children into the monsters that made them. How the maw is an orphanage and such as well.
I’ve seen with my own eyes and brain on how that works and that is true
That makes a classical sense, good theory
I... Out of all theories, this breaks my heart more! 💔
Wow, that's the theory I've been looking for.

WHATTTTT
Mono means monkey in Spanish tho-
The ending when six betrays mono could be a metaphor for six almost leaving mono.
I Actually really like this theory
i love this

Thin man could be the shadow of a man in front of a tv. This make so much sense. Mono was afraid of being one

I've heard that in Japan

@Elene Wachberger yea that is correct, six dropped mono into that thing and he aged a lot and became the tall guy then he tried to kill six and himself but younger, it’s so confusing
@Elene Wachberger so there’s 2 monos????!?!!
Because mono and six were running away from the tall man which is mono
Mono is not turning into Thin man, Mono is turning into his dad : tall (for a child perspective), always dressed for work with a sad face. Thin man is a loop of how he remembered his dad.
And THAT would be a nightmare.
@Cristina Cintron he was always the man
Plot twist: thin MAN is forced to kill mono when hes really warning mono to NOT destroy the music box.
@@anotherplague *sweet home Alabama*
Adding onto this theory I think mono was bullied during his time in school by his classmates because all the school children are called the bullies and they seems to attack mono everytime he gets near them even though mono has done nothing but just walk by this can also explain why he is really lonely in school also the bullies seem to act like normal kids when the teacher is in front of them but when the teacher is gone they go crazy
Same people say six does it cause of her backstory but we know mono has probably has a sadder one and he has remained kind it makes no sense
They act that way in front of her because they probably don’t want to know the consequences if they don’t and when she’s not around they get to be crazy
Likely
Also, it’s until you wear that bully hat and they won’t attack you because you look the same, as well everyone else. I think this points to Mono being bullied.
Very Long⚠️
As Six Wiki states: "In the secret post credits scene, Six arrives back in an room through a TV, seemingly horrified by what she just did to Mono as she looks around and slowly stands before being approached by a distorted and dark shadow version of herself, a remnant of what she had just gone through after being taken by the Thin Man. The Shadow Six looks towards a poster of the Maw, before fizzling and fading away into the wind, then Six's stomach begins to rumble with a loud, deep hunger as she stares off into the camera, obscured by shadow."
Her Description: Awakening in a world she cannot recognise, Six must learn to trust someone else if she is to stand a chance of survival.
Wow I never actually thought about this. That’s a very cool detail to notice!
@@annamakara that’s a very interesting theory! And I can totally see that she wasn’t herself. Though I do believe that even before the Thin Man took Six, she already exuded some sort of darkness within her.

you know Japan's society has become a corporation when they need a Minister of Loneliness.
I never felt so lucky for having amazing friends and a great family.
I've always thought about the fact that the little nightmares world is actually a metaphorical world. Parents these days always do their things ignoring their child that makes them lonely. I think sixs' monster in the end was a respresntation of a friend changing while you remain the same. Wait.... thats actually quite dumb.
Not exactly.
its not dumb tho....
This explains why the hallway leads to the room and the chair and thin man that looks so much like the room, chair and man hanging in LN 1.
wow that's actually such an interesting theory 😳

i LOVE how both games work on both a meta, metaphorical level, AND on an in-game, rich story level. like obviously, in the world of the game, there are all these timelines and story and mystery. but i love how even if we step back outside of the game world, there is still analysis to be had. some people think that both games being nightmares would ruin it, but i love it, i think it makes it deep on not only an in-universe level, but also on a level of looking at it from outside.
I have a similar theory. I also think it’s Mono’s nightmare and I think the first game is Six’s nightmare and here is their story
Mono and Six are siblings.

Omg this is definitely my go to theory now. It makes way too much sense to not be vaguely correct
I'm addicted to LN theories! Great train of thought Tericho, your perspective is an interesting one.
Whose the barber?
@@jasminewicker1750 He was a canceled enemy. A picture of him was seen in Little Nightmares, and he was supposed to appear in Little Nightmares 2. They actually have concept art. You can look him up.

Have you ever met someone with a weird phobia? Welp, I actually have a phobia called Autophobia/ 𝙈𝙤𝙣𝙤phobia.
This is exactly what the internet says about this phobia:“Autophobia,or *Monophobia* ,is the fear of being alone or lonely.Being alone, even in a usually comfortable place like home, can result in serve anxiety for people with this condition. People with Autophobia/Monophobia needs to be around with another person,or other people in order to feel safe.” This phobia is legit the worst; but adding the fact this phobia has Mono’s name in it makes this my favorite horror game 😌👍
There was alot of pictures like who was the guy with the big glowing eye

I gotta say, I wasn't really believing your theories at first, but recently I've been agreeing with these more and more.
The developers leave the "message" of the games intentionally ambiguous. So really you can take any interpretation you want! That's what makes these games so compelling for me!

These theories just get better and better. I love the little nightmares community.
Me too! Honestly the friendliest community I have made videos for so far!
I find it funny how one of the most depressing and lugubrious (gloomy) games has one of the most dedicated and friendly community. It just feels like the game would appeal to a different type of audience.
This is my theory✨
I think that mono remembers all the bad things that happened in his past and has nightmares about it, and every time he tries to wake up when he is about to get to that door on the tv six gets him because she is trying to use mono to save herself, so if she lets him go then she won’t be able to save herself, but then when mono was able to reach the door to scape the nightmare, he noticed it was not a dream anymore, and that he had to turn into what used to scare him, the tall man who I think COULD be his dad, which basically means that he did not wanted to be that way but everyone expected him to be like his father.
So six is a bitch ?
@@hafidelghazouani5272 ye
This is a very interesting theory! And if it's a nightmare, Six doesn't really need a reason for leaving/letting go.

Little nightmares is a genius game with a genius storyline. It is composed of WWII references, the psychological state of children, time-looping, and sad realities all without needing a narrator.
6:18 well as a japanese I can’t read those except some アイ以下に人or 死 or maybe 六without the top part. It doesn’t really mean anything but the word 以下 is just “less than”
I don’t think it’s Japanese, rather, it’s something designed to resemble a language close enough to one we know of in the real world, or if it is Japanese, they didn’t put much effort.
I just translated these
アイ以下に人 means people below the eye
死 means death
六 means six
sounds a bit familiar...
I did not need my UA-cam binging to be called out in such a manner. XD
I feelt the same way playing the game. They are calling me out by portraying TV as the bad guy. Lol.
Lol
The biggest twist at the end would be all of this which is a child's bad dream a nightmare you make call
But if its just a dream why doesent they wake up?
@@Mein-Darth Probably comatose and in bed in the real world. Where their parents pray that one day, they just might wake up.

Here’s an add-on. Six was either in his boarding school, or was apart of the hunter’s family, but then moved away, leaving mono alone and going crazy.
Even if this isn't his story, he is still one of the most tragic charectors I've ever seen
Maybe the reason the Hunter has a hole in the bag and the raspy breath because he saw his dad accidentally (or purposely) shoot himself in the face. The last memory of his Dad was sitting in the hospital listing to his raspy breathing.
wow him doing it to himself, I would have never thought of that but it’s genius it makes so much sense wowwowow amazing

Oh its all real
Bear traps : DANGER
Shotguns : DEADLY
Wild animals: yup.
So would Mono be asleep while we are playing this game if this is all a nightmare, or is what happened exaggerated cannon through his child mind?
watch nightmares explained with derren brown (LN 2) it has ALOT of lore to Mono's past if you look carefully like details of "suddenly your back in your child hood classroom" or "everything is so warped yet so real.." man I love that vid
I like this theory it's very different from others I've watch people have come up with its very creepy
Uh
I had a neighbour that didn’t have a leg and it would scare me as a child as I’ve never really seen a person without a limb. But the more I learned about losing a limb and how people can use prosthetics. I wasn’t as scared of him as before. He was still creepy though
coming back to this theory after the sounds of nightmares podcast; it actually fits super well!! in episode 3 of the podcast, the entire theatre noone is in is based on moments of her past, where there's a giant eye-blob monster that wants her to stay with it because it's lonely, at the end. this literally feels like a carbon copy of ln2 - if we go off this theory - with everything in the pale city being based on mono's past outside of the nowhere, and the end of the game resorting in being surrounded by an eye-blob creature that also kind of doesn't want to be lonely...
me watching tericho talk about loneliness at 6am and I haven't slept all day: 😐
Mono saving six was Mono irl helping a girl out in a difficult time. Later, Mono started to see her true colours ( the rain coat ) and began to like her. The ending is Six friend-zoning Mono.

So huge props to the guy who made this video and the theory.

when you think LN2 can't get any sadder and then they hit you with this
When I was a child, I had a reoccurring nightmare in a cabin in the middle of nowhere, and there was always a snowstorm outside.
