Hi everyone! Hope you enjoy the video 😄. If you have any questions or thoughts about data science/ working in the Netherlands let me know in the comment below!!
Hey Leonardo, nice to meet you! 👋 Interesting to know countries like the US and Brazil can have so different approaches to employment policies, thanks a lot for sharing 🙌
The great thing about the Netherlands is that it is close to Belgium. Became a contractor in BE (living in the NL), earning double compared to NL for the same work. In the NL everything is extremely cost-oriented and costs are more important than the (quality of) service.
@@Thuvu5 I have a question, how much agesim play a role in getting work over there? I am asking this because I am in mid 30s and have very little experience in data field, but have more experience in other Engineering domain.
@@kashandata I don't think age plays a role in getting a job in the NL. If you have years of experience and skills in another field that are transferable and could be valuable for the job, it will only be an asset :). A lot of my colleagues are in their 30s after finished a PhD or working in another field before working in DS but age really doesn't matter in the job application.
Lần đầu được nghe video của chị. Em cũng đang học master ở Hà Lan, đang chập chững đi tìm hiểu về job market tại đây. Video siêu chi tiết chị ơi, em cám ơn chị nhiều.
Im a data analyst in Brazil, i make 400 US Dollars a month, like 4,800 Dollars per year, and to get a job here you need to study alot and have a master degree, i basicaly do the job of a data engineer , business inteligence analyst and data scientist, also you need to be fluent in 3 or 4 languages, my dream is work in Amsterdam but now im almost 40 and just thinking about to give up on this whole career.
Hey …!! Thank you so much for the very good insight. To be honest these days now hard to find such in-depth videos. I am also studying DATA SCIENCE and trying to shape my career to this. I just subscribed your channel hopping I will get more from your channel ans help me in the best possible way. None the less I am very happy to find your channel actually I was looking the course of data science in Italy and job opportunities after that. GOD BLESS 🙏
I'm a junior data analyst in Vietnam, working 2 jobs at the same time at earn less than 3.5 times an entry level data analyst job in netherlands, sad :( but anyway, its good to be in this field
@@leduc6204 you earn less than 3.5 times in Netherlands means you earn 15-20k per year and 1,25 - 1,66k Euro per month, right? In Vietnam, that's not too much but still quite good to live in Hanoi or HCM.
Hi, thank you for this video! I'm considering moving to Netherlands. Could you also make video about skills required for data scientist/ data anylist position in Netherlands? I would highly appreciate that 😁
I'd like to know if there is an equilibrium between work and personal life. Is it common working a lot of hours above you expected? If it's true, how often?
Which sector do you think is more promising for an aspiring data scientist from money wise perspective in the Netherlands? Thank you for all this valuable info!
Hey, thanks for commenting! I don’t think I have a good answer to this question unfortunately. Private sector usually offers better salaries than public sector but I’d say choose the area you’re most interested as well in because if an industry offers great money but it is boring for you and drains you mentally, it would be a wasted opportunity to learn and progress as a DS. That’s my very opinionated ‘advice’ but hope that helps
Hi I am going to take a master in Data Science. I was wondering if it’s possible to find a job in this field which is completely done remotely. I live and study in Italy and I would love to work for a company from Netherlands since they have such a healthy approach to work... at least compared to Italian companies. Thank you very much 😊
That’s super nice that you’re considering working in NL. I think most companies now are going hybrid but I’m not sure about the 100% remote ones. I think it’s worth looking around online and connecting to the recruiters about this 😊
Hello, that was an informative video. Thanks a lot for the efforts. I have 15 years of experience in IT which aren't in Data science. So, if I take one year masters in DS from Netherlands. Will I be expected to start as a junior data analyst and from the scratch? Or do you think my 15 years of experience which was in some different technologies would be considered while getting a job? Because I am already earning decent salary in India but I want to move to Netherlands
Thanks for all the information. I would like to know if any Non Eu resident can apply for the companies in Netherlands. If yes , what is the procedure if you could help.
Hi Thu Vu, thank you for again a wonderful video. You have such a great variety of qualities and skills that you bring to your videos. I would like to ask you: What about housing in Amsterdam, as the housing market is so extremely tight? Do employers offer help with housing for expats? Many thanks again.
Hey there, thank you for checking out the video and for your kind words! Indeed the housing market in Amsterdam is quite bad, the demand is much more than the supply. From what I heard, employers do often help with housing to help you relocate to the country. Some employers have connections with housing agents that can facilitate you to find a place. Hope it helps! 🙌🏽
I really appreciate your movie. I work at japanese bank as a quants engineer or data scientist. I would like to work in netherland within 3years. I found some Data Scientist potision in Amsterdam from linkedin. Do you think can foreiner, like me, apply and pass for Netherlands DS position, like Amazon, ABN Amro?
i was about to quit my position as a data scientist learner , at some point during my course i serrended due of a lot of things that need to be learn ( a lot of lessons ) thank you for giving me a push and a good spirit to keep moving forward .....
Hi Nitish, I think any large platforms like Indeed and Glassdoor with have a respective version for each different country. You just need to use Indeed.uk for example to search for jobs in the UK. Hope this helped!
Hello, would you recommend a school in Netherlands for Master in Data Science , please take into consideration the tuition, quality education and, employment prospects . Thank you
hello! i just got an offer to study bachelors of business analytics here in Amsterdam. can i ask how is the job prospects like for international students in amsterdam? thank you
If you mean after graduation, than i could tell you that you can find a job or traineeship easily with English language, a lot of people are hiring and they dont have enough employees.
Just curious, how come people could afford the rent in Amsterdam with such low salary 😂the average rent of a small apartment is 2300 euro according to pararius
Hi I'm living in Netherlands as well and recently start learning Data Analytics (Google professional certification ) via coursera, may advise me how can I get trained by Dutch companies. Regards Ameer
Hey Ameer! Glad to hear you are getting into data analytics and taking the course! I feel that a traineeship or internship is probably the best way to learn on the job and get exposure to different aspects of the field. Or otherwise volunteering for a company who needs help with data analytics skills is also a great way to get trained and apply the skills you have! 🙌
