  • Guest host Chris Thomas talks with Sandra Tanner about her journey with the Book of Mormon: From faithful LDS member who believed it to be the Word of God; to a born-again Christian who still considered the Book of Mormon to be scripture; to noticing the contradictions between the Bible, Church doctrine, and the Book of Mormon; to her ultimate rejection of Mormonism and her work as one of the most well-known critics of the LDS Church.

This was a delightful and respectful interview of a real treasure - Sandra Tanner. Chris Thomas has really done a wonderful job. Much respect to both of you. The publications of Gerald and Sandra were instrumental in helping repairing my belief system when the deceptive actions and words of the Mormon leadership finally woke me up. I owe them both a debt that I will never be able to repay. Thanks to Chris for bringing out so many wonderful stories of her life.

What a wonderful, interesting and insightful interview! Sandra is certainly a del8ghtful person with a wealth of background and knowledge.
I really enjoyed the way the interview was conducted as well! Too often some peopleconducting an interview put themselves at the center of the.interview rsther than asking the questions from the wings of the stage, to not distract from the person being interviewed.
Thank you so much and definitely one of my.favorite Mormon Stories.

I just figured how many are not aware of discrepancies in BOM, D&C and the thousands of old and new information through speeches from leaders of the Church, it is their careful approach to ONLY taking snippets of information and ignore and obscure all other text included. They count on people never reading in a disciplined way. It took people who like the Tanners, made it a life long commitment to really absorb and analyze the whole story, cover to cover and compare and contrast text with other books, publications, addresses, etc. Here is the proof of the saying: those who seek, shall find!

Thank you so very much, Mrs. Tanner! I had come to an interest in Mormonism as a result of crimes connected to the faith. And, if I’m completely honest, after the most cursory study of Smith and the book of Mormon I thought how can anyone be fooled by this man? Ashamedly now, I realize from your interviews and those of others that the faith of most, if not every, Mormon is sincere based upon what they know of Christ and God. I just sincerely pray that every person thoroughly searches out and tests their own beliefs in the same way you and Mr. Tanner have done, and that those offering guidance will do so with the love of Christ.

Bless their hearts. They studied so hard and slowly found the problems with the LDS church and the Book of Mormon but completely missed the equally bad problems with the New Testament and Christianity itself. They not have had the sources we have today but they were known . They should have keep digging.
