Challenging becomes available during your second trip to Gold Saucer in the main story. You'll need to finish normal difficulty first, but both can be done at that point, if you don't want to bother your first time around.
You have to move a bit more quickly through the Challenging version of Desert Rush (AKA Gold Rush), and there are 20 second worth of 5 second time boxes that are a complete trap. That said, I wanted to show you that it's still possible to get them and finish the challenge, so get them if you really want to.

I got the max 60k but have zero clue what he missed that I got since I followed his route.. Really weird. Honestly this isn't bad at all, most of these just take a few tries, the hard colliseum, hard condor, sephiroth 3D brawler has the pausing cheese, but there's a few id just use a trainer on PC to skip if I could haha, like Aerith cactuar fight which is so handicapped compared to yuffie

The most important thing that often overlook is to do attack cancel, don’t wait for the animation to finish, cancel it by pressing ⭕️ , otherwise you won’t make it

Every reward in this game is lackluster. EVERY SINGLE ONE.
FF7 Rebirth is a dumpster fire or boring everything. Filled with even more boring filller.
This game deserves no praise. It did nothing new, added boring elements to gameplay and ruined the open world with such boring rewards.
EVERYTHING about this game is mediocre except graphics.

Great guide. I actually ended up using the fury ring from the musclehead colosseum battles to get auto berserk as it helps to break the boxes faster. I thought about trying hermes shoes with autohaste as well but I ultimately didn't need it. I completed it following your guide with 20 seconds to spare!

Great video, I have managed to perfect this one with 60,000 points but I got to the end so many times and found myself missing a box or 2, I swear sometimes when you hit the bundles of smaller boxes they end up teleporting into another dimension :)

Didn’t need the whole video in the end. 😂 I got 59900 on the second go around and actually thought this map was easier to navigate than the earlier one. Just try not to get zapped and cancel animations with ⭕️ and keep those ATB charges handy for the 1500 crates. Braver is a fucking weapon in this mini-game!

Nice! I'm about to start hard mode myself and get going on all the genji pieces.
I suggest doing as minimum of the circle/dodge-to-blade beam attacks on the small boxes and instead hold square for the spin aoe slash that takes them out in one hit. Too many seconds wasted throwing beams that aren’t one-shotting the little boxes.

One thing to help people the hold square/x for the 50 boxes is much quicker to hit the whole stack of them at once with out chasing them around

I skipped the section of time boxes like you recommended and got to the final area with 25 seconds to spare at 57,000 points, so I must have unintentionally skipped another section and not realized it. My score was high enough though so I wasn’t going to do this minigames again. Rebirth has the worst minigames I’ve ever seen. But again, THANK YOU!

@@SweetJohnnyCageI uploaded a clip of it to to my UA-cam for you, it’s pretty brief since it was the 2nd time it had happened so I was like 🤦🏼 and immediately restarted, but I’d bet you could easily replicate it. Activate punisher mode in that spot and start attacking, you’ll probably fall off 😂
