Casting your games was a pleasure Magic. Kept us all on the edge of our seats the whole time. I truly cannot wait to cast you in the next tournament. Phenomenal player. And I hope your hunger for this game only grows with this and with your next showing we get the best version of Magic anyone has ever seen. My Vocal chords and I cannot wait for that moment!

You’re doing great, Magic! Don’t forget you don’t have to do everything yourself - there are plenty of people who might want to support you in video creation, website management etc. - try calling out to your fanbase to fulfill your vision of your channel. That might free you up to focus on your expertise and presenting it to us. It’s what you do best and why we watch!

You had a great performance overall, love watching your games. It was tough with the last minute balance changes, and that got in a lot of peoples heads I think. Great sentiment near the end about the people you want to surround yourself with. Good luck in the show match and future tourneys!

With each trial, you grow stronger, and soon, your triumphs shall be unmatched across the lands! 💪🔥

So many things in this tournament were so scuffed. I don’t know if you were a player that had access to the 6+ months of testing but it’s insane any of those players were allowed to participate. Under normal rules players with that sort of access wouldn’t be allowed to participate in tournaments. But the most scuffed thing imo is the patches days and hours before the tournament even began.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Best of luck in the next tournaments!

However unfortunate it is that you missed out on that opportunity, i believe the universe is redirecting you for a reason. You have by far tbe most useful AOM videos right now when it comes to learning. Hell i can learn from casted games, but the shit you do is divine. So i think you should focus on that right now and find immense success brother. Been playing the game since i was 6, can’t wait to properly play it with your aid.

Man you're such a legend. Think you're headed in the right direction with the changes you're making. That's the key in all competitive environments: adapting and optimizing. As you said, you might have lost a match, but the learnings you've taken (already after such short time) will give you so much more value. Will be routing for you!

I’m loving your videos. This is my first RTS and I’m so excited learning how to get better from you. You are such a natural at UA-cam already. I was amazed when I saw how recently you started. It’s great hearing why you make decisions and I can’t get enough of listening to your insight. Sorry you didn’t get the outcome you were looking for. It’s crazy that you are competitive with professional players while also working a full time job. I appreciate all the effort you are going through putting these out.

It was really interesting watching this from both sides; your game knowledge of AoM was really impressive to watch with god power timings and god matchups, while Vortix just focused on his fundamentals and played the game more like other Age games in the sense that his unit production was consistent and constantly being expanded. And even though you didn't make it to the grand finals this time, you still made it really far and I'll be rooting for you in future tournaments too

Its great that you take us on this learning journey and I really do hope that in some way that this community will be able to give back to you in some way.
We could never help you directly win a tournament unfortunately.
But maybe, just maybe we can leave a small positive warm feeling that can influence your environment in the smallest of ways.

Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. But you learn the most from your losses. This is very important to understand in every area of life and especially in the business world. Your employees become solid and confident when you allow them to make mistakes and then to let them learn from it. And then let them also learn from mistakes of other employees without blaming and shaming anyone.
Great video and well played nonetheless! Not every day can be the best day from a personal view.

To be completely honest, I believe you are an absolutely great player. Insane actually. I wish you all the best, I love your videos and I love that after your games you made this kind of a video. I just want to tell you that now, I believe you can do what you are trying. Staying on top while having a full time job (on top meaning not top category, but trying to be the best). But if retold continues to grow and it gets a StarCraft treatment I think it is expected and it is realistic to absolutely be on top category, and be on top strategy-wise, even make correct decisions on difficult times, but the meta will be changing, and retold is heavier than other games in the sheer amount of content, and I think it will be difficult to be the best. Really don't want to discourage you at ALL. Just want to point out that the advantage pro player's have is really, really big.
I love your content. Waiting for the next video!

Sometimes when we experience failure, we mistakenly attribute that to a personal failure. In reality it is our failures and oftentimes the repetition of those failures that makes us great. Sounds like you know the difference, but I wanted to say you should be proud how far you’ve made it!

  • @PhotonTrooperGaming
    @PhotonTrooperGaming 3 дні тому

This is a great video for any RTS player really since you point out the correct mindset and the attention span needed for competitive success. 1 or 3 seconds are enough to change a match trajectory permanently and I believe that there is a difference here maybe regarding your tactical victories (like the maneuver to stun and kill units on small combats) and Vortix's strategical victory (which I read as the decision of your opponent on committing on a full-fledged offensive with 1 TC only while you went for a boom diverting resources to a 2nd TC)
Subscribed to you!! good luck in the next tournaments!

    Good call !
I've applied the wait & bide time and regroup an army a few times, and it often does work, towers and TC doing chip damage here and there is "free"
but honestly this video is so informative its insane, as atlantean player, and the mirror match up, I do think murmillos are the winning choice too rather than just trying to turma vs turma
Letting a TC go after it does some damage to the enemy while you build up a further army might not be a bad move either

gg, I think - as you mentioned as well - the biggest part of losing this one was the villager distribution. you had more than enough time to recover, but 3 on food for so long was too rough.

Hey this is a very inspiring video. I'm also a young adult with a full time job and love age of mythology so I tried to sneak in 3-4 games a day (sitting at 1200 elo). The mistakes you made in the game was very relatable to me as well especially taking bad fight cause of adrenaline. Tho my mistakes are probably a lot more obvious and detrimental haha. I think really highly of your videos and think you will be a big AOM content creator (even if you won't go full time pro due to work and life). Hope I can face you on the ladder as some point

To be honest, I thought it was a little unfair the seeded players could just practice in customs while everyone else had to grind the public ladder, but I was not aware you weren't even allowed to ladder. I can imagine that'd be a problem for practice and I don't even understand why they would make that rule. The other players probably would've been happy to get practice matches against you guys on the ladders aswell.
I hope you can bounce back and good luck in the coming tournaments!

  • @DragonRevo

Having less practise time sucked for you especially for this tournament since you had to play multiple gods on the highest level which is obviously super hard to do without a ton of games on each of them. Kudos to you and don't slack on your real life in exchange, this is just a game and a personal challenge in the end right? Great guy you are and maybe see you on the EGCTV tourney ;)
