You have to ask yourself isn't there a lot of things that really go into play I'm pretty sure the manufacturer it's going to put on the smallest and lightest person they can use especially in the top speed test Tire pressure are they using nitrogen filled tires? I'm sure they went into the settings and turned everything to the max so on and so forth But a damned good video😊 Keep up the good work
Yes there would be plenty of things to look into while doing these tests! If i had the time and money i’d look into it further but would always make some good future content! Thanks man, appreciate the feedback, plenty more to come!💯🔋⚡️
The Surron display thinks that the bike is going faster with the larger sprocket because the motor is turning at a higher rpm. The speed sensor is not on the front wheel as it is with most gas motorcycles.
You’re absolutely correct and there is no way to calibrate the stock surron LBX display. The L1E display can be calibrated as its a road legal version so it needs to be able to always read an accurate speed reading!
So i just did some research on this and it sounds to me like it’s possible on the road legal version of the light bee, but not on the off road version which i have. I think it’s possible with some aftermarket controllers but not with the stock controller. I wish it was possible with the stock one! However, it doesn’t bother me too much.
It’s a 60v but 38ah battery. I probably should of stated that in the video. I don’t think the 40ah battery would be much quicker though, maybe a very slight bit more range but it would be set up to put out the same power as a 38ah.
Yeah because if you don’t cut the speed limiter wire somewhere on the bike, because from factory they have to have it setup to ride through backroads to bike paths
Maybe going down hill then there’s a possibility. This had been tested by a few riders/youtubers. Even surronster has done speed test and on the same model surron as mine he got 43mph, with on road tired and on flat smooth tarmac🤷🏻♂️⚡️
@@mattfrancisofficial im 110kg and I can get 50mph stock easy on road its all about body position but yes realistically things arent going over 45 if you dont have to have ideal conditions and tires
This bike was never restricted, it’s normally limited to 35mph even in sport but after cutting the wire it will get near 50mph so the speedo says. The fastest speed my speedo says is 52mph but as proven in this video its not very accurate. Surronster has tested this as well and even his top was only 43mph
Surron is going to ruin the ebike community! Most people who buy one will never see it's offroad capabilities as they are bought for kids who ride them illegally on the streets!
Same goes with any vehicle really, expensive cars a purchased and driven by idiots. Same with road bikes. Always going to be a minority to ruin the fun.
Great video as always 👏🏽
Thanks broski! Will have to try the same test on the Eclipse!
good job Matt, wheels and sprocket is crucial upgrade IMO
Thanks man! Yeah i agree, sprocket upgrade was a huge difference in torque, well worth it💯🔋⚡️
The Surron Speedo is calibrated for a 44 sprocket, for the stock sprocket you have to set the speedo to 1.1
My stock sprocket was 42t… i dont think i can set the speedo on the light bee?
Wait how do I do that
@@itzpogboy I only know how you do it for the street legal European one

Good stuff! Next time you make an experiment video please wear a chemists gown! 😂
😂 thanks broski!! For the sake of entertainment i think i’ll have to do that. Would be a right laugh!🔋⚡️
Just look up how to cut the speed limiter wire on a sur Ron to go faster with your new upgrades to your sur Ron
This video was filmed with the limiter cut. That is the full stock power of the bike
you can set sprocket wheel size changes to get the correct speed on your stock screen...read your manual

@@mattfrancisofficial yea if you go off road who even care about speed, torque = fun thats what really matters
Was this video done with the 60v 40ah battery?

hi so I'm going to get a sur on and I'm wondering if it would be legal to ride on side of the road
Depends where you live but in UK its not unless you buy the road legal version and have it taxed & insured.
well I'm from Canada BC
is this surron light be x ??
Yeahh!
Also do they mention rider weight to have that top speed quoted ?
No idea tbh. Quite possibly

Change the controller to a BAC8000 and give it a 72v battery and it will go much faster than 43 mph ..
Its on the to do list!!
Hope you've got deep pockets 😆
Bigger sprocked = LEss vmax But More Newtonmeter

with a stock sprocket on a flat road with non knobby tires you will do 50mph

Hit 49mph on my stock surron. At least that’s what it’s own speedometer says
My soon pit bike go faster than that ..I was thinking on buy me a Surron...but I won't spend almost 5k just to do under 50mph
Each to their own, upgrades made it possible to be quicker just depends if you’re willing to splash the cash on doing so👍🏻
I hit 83 84 kmh in my light bee with my girl in the back
Was the bike fairly new?
@@mattfrancisofficial yes , but now it has 12.980km and stills put 80 82

Surrons are too heavy I'm running 100v on a emtb that weighs 50lbs. I would'nt ride a Surron if u gave me one...

oh yeah they fs lied, no doubt about that. the speedo is also off by 2 mph
