I’ve lived in Green Valley (20 minutes from Madera Canyon ) for 15 years. I distinctly remember my first trip to the canyon and nabbing a good 10 or so lifers, just like you. Wonderful place!

I watched your Arizona videos last year for a whirlwind trip I took in May. Taking friends at the end of April this year. Your various SE Arizona videos were a big help last year, and now that I am more familiar, you will have helped all 4 of us this year! Your videos are informative without being too wordy, and you found enough birds that have us all anxious to be there! Thanks so much for your willingness to share all you find!!

This is a great video - really appreciated the information. This was just the right amount of detail for slightly more than a casual birder but not a super serious birder who 'chases' rare, migrating and endemics. Having not yet been to this area, it gives me a great perspective on what to expect in environment as well. Thanks so much!

Thanks for sharing this video. You were exactly where we would like to be in the near future! . Appreciate the opportunity to take this birding hike with you as we endure one more winter in Ohio. Enjoyed your quiet voice simply naming the birds. However, you might want to check the correct pronunciations for Gila (Hee"la) and Grosbeak (with a long O in first syllable).

Based on some of those lifers, that turkey might have been as well. That was a Gould's turkey, which have a pretty small distribution in the U.S. Nice video, great place to go.

I stumbled upon this video and it is great! If you're ever in SE AZ again let us at Tucson Audubon know and we'll show you around. Also, looks/sounds like your gnatcatcher at the beginning is a Black-capped Gnatcatcher, they nest along the Proctor trail and it's a great bird. Your mystery bird could be a Lark Bunting going through molt?
