Thanks so much for posting this!! I'm a birder from Canada and I'm visiting California in the spring - this video is so helpful for preparation for my trip!! :)
Hi Everett! Love your videos! I am visiting family in Temecula around 4th of July then thinking of heading to San Diego area for birding before driving back to Bay Area. If you have a minute, could you please suggest a few spots to hit this time of year? Was thinking of Salton Sea but it might be too hot, or suggest any other cool spots? Thanks for your time and thanks for the great videos!
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoy the videos! I would recommend birding the Dairy Mart Pond, the bird and Butterfly Garden, Tijuana Slough, Cabrillo, Fort Rosecrans, Mt Laguna area, and the Salton Sea (if you can get there early and deal with the heat). Have a great trip!
Was the black billed magpie seen in the Tijuana slough? I have never heard of them being around here? Awesome sighting! Also, you saw all these in one day!? Awesome! Definitely going to try this out next April!
Birds @10:27 are Black Turnstones not Ruddy. Sorry for the typo!
Awesome !
Glad you enjoyed it!
thank you for this video

Your best yet, the Magpie Jay was incredible(I’ve never heard of them). I’m in Buena Park Ca.
Thanks Mark! Yeah the Magpie Jay was amazing. There's a little group of them in South San Diego but that was the first time I've seen one.
Pretty sure the turnstones are actually Black Turnstones! Great video!
Yes they are! Typo. Thanks for catching that.
@@TheBirdingVoyage No problem!

Thanks for watching!
12:47 willets (not dowitchers) with marbled godwit wading in front.
Thanks for the tour. I moved away from San Diego 3 years ago.
Thank you for watching and good call on the Willets!
3:02 Loggerhead Shrike
Thanks for pointing that out! I said Loggerhead Shrike in the video but mistyped and put Northern Shrike.
Anyone have a favorite bird?
Thanks for watching!

Yes I saw the Magpie Jay at the Bird and Butterfly Garden. It was an awesome, exhausting day. Thanks for watching!
I’m in San Diego - do you know what the black birds are that have been migrating these last few weeks?
Thanks for watching! No I don't but I'll look into it!
