Great tips!

This being a new video I was expecting it to have been recently recorded but see that there are birds that wouldn't be present in that area in January. When were you there?

Great tips for pelagic birding! I did a 8 hour one off the coast of Monterey bay. I did enjoy the trip and bagged some lifers but had few uncomfortable experiences because I did not prep well like you said. I hope do one next year again!

Love pelagic tours! Gotta get back out there to S.D. I use the Scopolamine patch. By prescription, but the best preventative I've found yet and worth the trouble to get it. Take the night before and it lasts three days if you leave it on. No drowsiness but can give you dry mouth. I've used it in really rough conditions under small craft advisories and still no problem.

You can change the manual focus to the side lever as it is on your p950. It’s in settings under the wrench I believe

I go down there several times a year when I visit my son. I got the Tropical Kingbird that was hanging out by the tennis courts. Lifer #550 for me!

Very cool. I remember my 1st Sora very well. It was in SW Michigan and I was part of a Birdathon team. We started birding before dawn and we heard one doing its whinny call. I had never heard it before and it kind of freaked me out ha ha.

How do you get your camera to not focus on the buildings in the background? I went to Bolsa Chica last Saturday and tried taking pictures of a white tailed kite, but if I zoomed in my camera focused on the apartment complex not the kite.

We were in Portal in May. Always love birding there. Got to see the trogon just at the end of southfork road but would LOVE to see Montezuma Quail. Congratulations! By the way, there are lots of good air bnb's there and we have stayed at most. Thanks for the video!
