With the way some countries' taxi meters work, you actually pay LESS the faster the taxi is. (This is provided the taximeter is time, not distance based)
AWD so power is 50/50 split between front/rear unless the ACD redistributes power. The ACD can shift up to about 10% of the power to any one wheel. When the car launches, the front end lifts putting less weight on the front tires. The front wheels probably spun because they were lifting a bit.
@dazza2105 oh I get it. It makes sense. I thought all 4 wheels would spin at least a little more equal to each other. It made it look like a FWD since the front wheels spun more than the wheels
I love how confused the guy was when got of the taxi :-) and enother guy shakes from the sound of revs. :-) I would like to order that taxi on everydays basis. Does anyone knows is the driver detective inspector STIG? :-)
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR its just physics mate. When the car launches the weight shifts to the back so the back wheels have maximum traction, while the fronts lift providing little traction. The active diff would be distributing most of the power to the rear
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR prolly had more power diverted to the front wheels. for example on a typical gravel rally course, you might wanna put 60% to front and 40% to rear
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Depends on how they have the center diff setup, if it's balanced for more front then it is rear the fronts will spin. if it's setup for rear the rears would spin more.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Evos are front wheel drive biased, which should promote understeer, but the torque split and AYC eliminate that all together....amazing machine
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR i just found out the guy held the handbrake for a second to make the front tyres spin even more then usual. that explains it all now
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR because it's not 4x4 it's awd whichj mean all wheels get power. On an awd car most put alot of the power to the front wheels first and with his launch it transfers all the weight of the car to the rear
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR to have more controll over car on the curves.. as we know cars with with FWD doesnt like to drift but with RWD and 4WD are really easy to provoke them to drift, so they set into that evo power about 65-75% power on front wheels and the rest on back
@kangphil Evo doesn't have this. Only on Subies right? (so far as I know of). From my research, all rally cars does this when they launch. I always thought since they're AWD, their power distribution is 50/50
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR To answer your question directly: because of power distribution. The devil's on the details though because any expert review you can find on youtube will always mention the 'fun factor' or whatever, but something in that sorts. ECU launch control, hence that 'dip' on back on car when front wheels spin more. Torque Force: the neck breaker: Forced Love.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR the AWD computer decided that the front tires needed more power. also with all those upgrades the computer might work a little differently when telling what tire needs more power.
@fmyboki892 If I'm correct, because of the way the engine sits, unlike the STi, it can only split UP TO 50/50, and then from there on it'll be more FWD? It can't do lets say 30/70 or something like that. .
@svar79 I'll do more research. I love Evo's but idk the specs. I got caught up with something cheaper like the 240sx S13 and I know every specs of it now. Time to move back to Evo >:)
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR hahaha cuz when it launched, the weight shifted to the rear, lightening the load on the front tires, thus causing the front tires to spin free'er than the rears. just shows that cars LSD is very neutral or non-existant :P
I love how confused the guy was when got of the taxi :-) and enother guy shakes from the sound of revs. :-) I would like to order that taxi on everydays basis. Does anyone knows is the driver detective inspector STIG? :-) And girl is thinking "shit, maybe I should take a bus?" hahaha
@spinninDJE oh I see it. Yeah yeah the 98 Subaru Impreza STi is 55% in front and 45% rear. It's for the control? Front tires spin faster for control. It has more control with the front than the rear. The rear is basically for making it faster? I see :) thanks :) and thanks youtubers! I'm learning a lot >:)
that launch after closing a door is pure perfection :D
Evo taxi always gets you there 3 seconds faster than STI taxi.
Greatest taxi ride ever
What's STI taxi?
@@maidoinohio101 the sti is a car that was the main rival to the Evo
@@maidoinohio101 Subaru WRX STI
Bruh a WHOLE ASS 3 SECONDS?
Seriously How can Someone dislike.
Only in a perfect world would this be an everyday thing
How did i miss this masterpiece for 12 years

I'm a Subaru owner and I love this video! Haha, brilliant!
With the way some countries' taxi meters work, you actually pay LESS the faster the taxi is.
(This is provided the taximeter is time, not distance based)
I would drive it every day. This is how a car should sound !
The only UA-cam vid I crank the sound up to max for.. complete badassery.
Anti turbo lag sound bad ass

I don't know if I am right I have Pajero Pinin with 4x4 system I feel it very similar like this.
Smoke arriving after the car sums it all up :D
*Evo never dies*
But mitsubishi doesn't make em anymore 😢 😡

Yup, in a heartbeat I would get in. Probably change my destination for a longer ride.

hahahah this is so great! love when the guy jumps from the two-step!
Нестареющая классика. От взгляда девушки ржачно до сих пор :)

This should be a luxury option all taxi services offer.
i wish all taxis were like that...this way there wouldnt be much traffic congestion
I demand a full lineup of wrc taxis
hell yes
"One round-trip, please. On the double."
the greatest taxi cab of all time!
@dazza2105 oh I get it. It makes sense. I thought all 4 wheels would spin at least a little more equal to each other. It made it look like a FWD since the front wheels spun more than the wheels
Depends on the balance between the front and rear wheels in terms of power delivery
I wanna do this in my X, so sick.
I love how confused the guy was when got of the taxi :-) and enother guy shakes from the sound of revs. :-) I would like to order that taxi on everydays basis. Does anyone knows is the driver detective inspector STIG? :-)
Crazy Taxi in real life, lol😂😂😂
I would LOVE to go on a ride in an evo taxi
Is car still use? Legend!
hhhhhhhh

I love a true norwegian commercial! :D
We need this.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR its just physics mate. When the car launches the weight shifts to the back so the back wheels have maximum traction, while the fronts lift providing little traction. The active diff would be distributing most of the power to the rear
WHY DOESN'T TAXI 5 & NEW YORK TAXI MOVIE LOOKS LIKE THAT?!
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR
when u accelerate the weight moves back on the rear wheels. so less weight means less grip for the front tyres
Voltando pra esse vídeo depois de 6 anos por causa das recomendações do yt
@DeathMetalKillsEmos Definitely the correct answer. The weight transfers to the back, decreasing traction in the front.
@tehtru7h
as we can all hear it has a anti-lag system which means a rally spec evo.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR a limited slip diff is exactly that. it allows a limited amount of slip.
Greatest video on this website!!
why not make a film of it ?
Daniel is behind the wheel
@zVlPERz AWD, it's just on launch the front end lifts and the front wheels tend to spin as they have less traction
The revving when thet guy approached
That was fast. 🔥
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR prolly had more power diverted to the front wheels. for example on a typical gravel rally course, you might wanna put 60% to front and 40% to rear
@deadjoey77 dude howcome when it launched, the front wheel spun more? I know it's 4X4 but...why did the front wheels spun more?
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR
Depends on how they have the center diff setup, if it's balanced for more front then it is rear the fronts will spin. if it's setup for rear the rears would spin more.
@tehtru7h thats a AWD burnout. evo is deff not stock.
Thanks guys for the answers. It's basically like an approval that it's a fact to all the research I'm reading right now :) this is awesome.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR ITs Called Power.........and the fact that there was dirt on the road and they are not slick tires to help it launch better to
. . I can't stop watching this :D
best car commercial till now! hahahahahaa
@Craaaaabs usually you pay double for that kind of action
NICE!!! Love the video!!!
9th and main.... and step on it!!!
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR may because the front LSD, normally evo don't have that from factory.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Evos are front wheel drive biased, which should promote understeer, but the torque split and AYC eliminate that all together....amazing machine
What tyres are those?
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR
i just found out the guy held the handbrake for a second to make the front tyres spin even more then usual. that explains it all now
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR because it's not 4x4 it's awd whichj mean all wheels get power. On an awd car most put alot of the power to the front wheels first and with his launch it transfers all the weight of the car to the rear
Is this the original posting? Because top search results this was the oldest
Many have different lengths and wanted to know that I was watching the original
why is it front wheel drive?
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR to have more controll over car on the curves.. as we know cars with with FWD doesnt like to drift but with RWD and 4WD are really easy to provoke them to drift, so they set into that evo power about 65-75% power on front wheels and the rest on back

Very nice
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Physics, front wheels have less grip if all the weight is thrown to the back
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR To answer your question directly: because of power distribution. The devil's on the details though because any expert review you can find on youtube will always mention the 'fun factor' or whatever, but something in that sorts. ECU launch control, hence that 'dip' on back on car when front wheels spin more. Torque Force: the neck breaker: Forced Love.
You're hired.
where can I sign up to be a driver for that cab company :)
@aesorn Yea, i think i have a little more common sense than to confuse a lancer with an evo, thats like saying the wrx is an sti..
hahahahahaha....i so LOL at work when i saw this today.
@WolfDataTube looks like you were racing lancers
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR
the AWD computer decided that the front tires needed more power. also with all those upgrades the computer might work a little differently when telling what tire needs more power.
Friggin awesome. I want that job.
just needs the Offspring playing
this video is so full of win
nice video
is it fwd???
This is very funny video actual taxis are not like that, well it is very entertaining video i must say people would love it
@fmyboki892 If I'm correct, because of the way the engine sits, unlike the STi, it can only split UP TO 50/50, and then from there on it'll be more FWD? It can't do lets say 30/70 or something like that. .
that's Stig's job after the Top Gear :)
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR less grip in front. you can see all the weight was at the back upon launch
'Your Uber driver is driving a red Mitsubishi'
@svar79 I'll do more research. I love Evo's but idk the specs. I got caught up with something cheaper like the 240sx S13 and I know every specs of it now. Time to move back to Evo >:)
I Wanna Take That To Work Every Day :(
And he will be back for the girl before any other taxi arrives.
@Magnak Perhaps you're right.
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR hahaha cuz when it launched, the weight shifted to the rear, lightening the load on the front tires, thus causing the front tires to spin free'er than the rears. just shows that cars LSD is very neutral or non-existant :P

I'd pay double for that
Rwd taxi?
@pinoyALLmotorEVOIXMR Because all of the car's weight shifted backwards, unloading the front wheels...
It really looks like a beat-up rally car
By the look of it
@warstang27
There are plenty of people with even ej205 motors pushing over 40 psi on gt42's and gt35r's.....
Now imagine a group.B taxi car.
@spinninDJE oh I see it. Yeah yeah the 98 Subaru Impreza STi is 55% in front and 45% rear. It's for the control? Front tires spin faster for control. It has more control with the front than the rear. that's a nice mini clip!,,wehehe
how much i love this video man hajshdjasdasj
I'm guessing this is a german 4g broadband ad
This is just full of win!
