    Amazing how advanced these tools have become. Great video Jerry!

      Thanks PSG - by the time everyone gets really used to using these tools, they'll change over to battery power and they'll be obsolete :)

    A great review easy to,follow review of this tool. I don't think that even the official Thinktool "how to videos" explain this tool as well as you did. Thanks for the great video, Jerry.

    I liked your explanation. I bought the same one but I don't know how to program a new key for my 2016 jeep patriot sport.

      Thanks Jorge. Do you have to purchase software for that? Let me know if you figure it out :)

    Nice unit for sure. I just picked up the Thinktool Pro. Have not really had much time to play with it. Thanks for posting this video. Hope you have a link to buying it in your description!

      Wow - cool. I've heard good things about the Thinktool Pro. That would be interesting if you did a video on it. Take care my friend and thanks for watching :)

      @@LakesideAutobody Obviously I bought it more as a toy since I don't professionally work on vehicles. I have started a list of possible videos I can do using it and possibly teaching others at the same time. So far the little I have used it has impressed me vs just a normal code reader.

      There are a ton of them. This one stands out though to me because of the large easy to read screen and ease of use - super user friendly.

      @@rcs0296 If it's bi-directional tests you're looking for then I'd go with the Thinktool Pro. I haven't used one but the reviews for that tool are very positive :)

    How much is it to download new software after the first year? My scan tool costs $800/year.

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  2 роки тому +3

      Free downloads for life. You only have to pay for "uncommon" software.

    Decent looking tool. Wish something with bi-directional diagnostic controls and something that program chipped keys would be available for DIY. The ones I know of, require paid subscription and are $1000’s.

      This company has one but it does cost a bit more than this model. My brother in law says it looks like a snap on :)

      I'm thinking no. It's not 100% bidirectional. Here's the web site for it - kingbolentool.com/products/thinkcar-thinkscan-max-bluetooth-obd2-all-system-code-reader

    I tried to do a diagnostic with my Thinkscan Max on my CF Moto ATV but... nothing, didn't see the Atv, didn't recognise VIN number, nothing, completely useless for ATV...on the other hand, a small cheap code reader did the job! Am I missing something?!?

    • @LakesideAutobody
      @LakesideAutobody  6 місяців тому

      It probably won't work with an ATV. Curious as to what codes or code you got with the small cheap reader on the CF Moto.

      It has some bidirectional capabilities but the next one up has total bidirectional capabilities. I think it's the Think Pro :)
