Hey guys, thanks for watching as always! PPE isn’t the most popular topic, but it’s a super important one! What safety glasses style or brand do you guys love to sport? Love to know what’s working for you guys and which ones are the most comfortable. See you on the next video!
Brian, thanks for all the good information. I usually listen faster than most people speak so I crank the speed to 1.5. With you I don't have to do that. All the information without the slow drawn out delivery. Good Job!
I wear Oakley m frame glasses while mowing. I buy the clear replacement lenses from amazon a few at a time. They are impact resistant with the proper ANSI and z87 ratings. $10 to replace lenses and great protection.
I use the nemesis and the 3m with gaskets. I buy them all buy box of 12 on amazon. Clear yellow and tinted. I have a welding fab shop that the guys must where the 3m with foam the repair shop they where the nemesis and the lawncare they float between the two types. The nemesis are light comfortable thin and not to bad in style
This is a great topic that is underrated! I use the dewalt safety glasses. Have for years, not to expensive and I do not mind tossing a set when scratched. But I'm a firm believer in safety verses that trip to the doctor's
Milwaukee just released their new safety glasses at Home Depot. They got ones with removable gaskets and polarized tinted safety glasses for like $39.99
As a machinist I am completely in agreement with all your advice. I know what it's like to get a chip in my eye, strange how sensitive your eyes are and never forget how we easily take eyes and our hearing for granted. Good advice Brian.
Although I don’t have any bc they’re super expensive (for sunglasses), Oakley does have impact resistance shooting glasses. If a pair of glasses is good enough to stop bullet fragments ricochet, it’s gonna stop a rock. I use my Under Armour shooting sunglasses as my safety glasses when trimming/blowing/mowing.
Hey Brian, Love the channel and the content that you put out!!!! Sorry to say but Oakley sunglasses with poly carbonate lenses and polarized is the only way to go!!!!
my great grandparents and other family members worked for a company in Springfield Mass called American Optical "AO" they made regular glasses and I think safety glasses too, but now the company makes just regular glasses. I still have the safety jacket they used to make the glasses. my uncle works for Exxon and he is the safety expert for them he has seen a lot of stuff when people don't use protection. also, my grandfather was a mason back in the 50s to early 90s and someone pretty close to him wasn't wearing a harness and fell down the elevator shaft and died. he was also very big on safety.
Ray Bans for mowing, Ray Bans for leaves, Ray Bans for riding, Ray Bans for construction. I know what you're saying about the lens rating but, I've gotten pretty blasted by rocks & or pieces of mulch and the Ray Bans have help up great. All joking aside great video Bud. Hope all is well Dirty Jersey out!!
Listen . Get BOMBERS 💯 % hands down . Cheap but good fit . I’ve bought two . One polarized and one non polarized z. The first pair I’ve got side shields on one as well . And also can’t scratch em at all
sunglasses on sunny days, clears when it starts getting dark, or on cloudy days... no cry on amazon are a solid scratch resistant brand, but they don't make a gasket. right now i'm using.... the 3m virtua gaskets, but they do fog up sometimes ( especially during or after rain 🤦🏾♂️🤦🏼♂️🤦🏻♂️ ) and now that you're looking at the last pair, i think those are it 😂😂 but i run the dark and the clear... and yes ( until recently i've hated wearing glasses for anything other than trimming, but recently i've noticed ), they work great for mowing in dry conditions when debris fly back into your face.
Oakley makes some glasses which are safety rated. They are made up to military standards which supersede the ANSI Z87+. Shocktube and if not mistaken Det cord.
Revelent optics lenses. They are almost all z87 and great lenses for almost every frame made. That’s what I put in my Costa’s so I can wear them on the job
Agreed! I prefer wrap-around with a comfy nose bridge. I did not know about gasket eyewear😮 I'll def look for those! I currently use Ironman from Target. Not actually safety, but have held up well with debris deflection. Nice ppe video👍
Just started on a landscape team on a golf course what would be the best tint color for sunny days smoke, yellow,Amber ? Really appreciate the video looking at the dewalt dpg99 or 94.
@@BriansLawnMaintenance your always using other brands. It would be like me wearing Echo and X Mark swag. I'm a Gravely and Stihl user and fan boy. Funny kick, not meant as a bad thing. Just having some fun 😊
I've gotten a hunk of steel in my eye once when using my 9" angle grinder shaping up some metal and it was a bitch to keep myself from blinking while I went to grab my microwave tool holding magnet one swipe and it pulled it out and it was better but it could have easily been worse. I think the bramd is Eagle saftey glasses that are some nice looking and pretty durable I used to get them when I was doing commercial electric work, they were in all the supply houses they have some similar to Oakley looking glasses they're impact rated and polarized I'm sure you could find those online someone stole my last pair I think they're 15-25 bucks but theyre durable
Old timer tip learned from my grandfather... when not using the glasses put them in a ziptop bag. It seems to keep most of the scratches and all of the dirt off in between uses. Anyone have any tips or glasses with anti-fog? I use perscription safety glasses.
I just scored a pair of 3M clear safety glasses for evening time and nighttime target practice with my rifle and pistols and for when I'm weed eating in the evening they have some foam inserts around the actual eyeglass pieces but it says there removable they're normally like 14 bucks and I got them for $9 on sale I'm too poor to go out and spend any more than 10 bucks on a pair of safety shields I normally buy 5 or 10 pairs of harbor freight safety glasses when I'm in that part of town for 99¢ a piece lol
Oakley is ball bearing tested just like z87. I used to be a safety man. Was always an argument. But Oakley are actually rated better as long as the lenses are plastic. Also costa 580p lenses. Safety “glasses” just have a better curve around the eyes to protect side of eyes. 😉😉
I HIGHLY recommend the safety goggles I’m using right now, Softgle Comfort. It's so comfortable that I often forget I'm wearing it. Best $5 I ever spent. Make sure you buy the one with the anti-fog coating or you'll regret it. #SoftgleComfort
Oakley has at least one style that meets ANSI standards. I know their Detcord model is. Wiley X...most if not all of their sunglasses exceed ANSI standards.
Check out Safetyglassesusa.com, they have a big selection of safety glasses. I also use a pair with light blue tint in the evenings it really brightens everything up and I can run later into the evening.

I like to wear Bearkat safety glasses when I’m working and I prefer to have my crew use them but sometimes they wear their sunglasses
Oakley does make Z87 rated sunglasses
I wear my costas for farm work saved my eyes many times from dust flying stuff and there very comfortable
safestyle eyewear makes good safety glasses that look good. it is an Australian company. safestyle.com.au/
Brian, thanks for all the good information. I usually listen faster than most people speak so I crank the speed to 1.5. With you I don't have to do that. All the information without the slow drawn out delivery. Good Job!
Love my Wiley X, great sunglasses and safety rated.
Great video Brian, I love the Stihl sun/ safety glasses! Will not be having dust this year for leaf cleanups with all the rain lol!
I've been using those 3M ones with the gaskets for a couple years. Love them!
Life saver during leaf season!
I got hit in the face with a metal strap and gouged a piece out of my safety glasses and not my eye ball . I always wear my ppe .
I wear Oakley m frame glasses while mowing. I buy the clear replacement lenses from amazon a few at a time. They are impact resistant with the proper ANSI and z87 ratings. $10 to replace lenses and great protection.
What model Oakley's do you wear? What tint lenses are they? Thanks Brian!!
Wiley X is great! Been using them for 5+ yrs and even replaced the lenses on a few models.

Poly carbonate lenses are safety glass lenses FYI
Very cool! Yeah and that’s something I’ll have to look more into! Thanks for sharing!

Polarized yellow safety glasses, great during the day and at low light dusk.
Great resource of info and thank you for keeping the stripe nation safe.
👊
I work on a wind farm. And by far Nemesis are the absolute most comfortable and best looking shades
Very important video, Brian! PPE is key and these are great suggestions.
Great video Brian. I love my Oakley Holbrook but I'd hate for a rock or somethin to damage them so I'm wearing clear safety glasses now.
I typically use Elvex (several of their pairs are ballistic rated) or Radians (Radians actually makes the Dewalt branded eye protection)

Yeah fogging is my only complaint with gasket styles. Especially when wearing an RZ mask. I sound and feel like Darth Vader, ha
1. Jackson Safety V30 Nemesis Polarized Safety Glasses and UV Resistance.

Been wearing Pyramex Goliath glasses here recently. They are on Amazon but I ordered mine from A M Leonard. Loving them so far
Z87 ! Reminds me of my 7th grade shop teacher. Always thought it sounded like a cool car.

Been looking at the Wiley X WX Boss. Looks really good, gasketed, polarized sunglasses.
clear glasses are great for dusk when sunglasses make it too dark

Hey Brian, any tips for keeping glasses from fogging up when wearing a mask? Appreciate all you do...

Most Oakley sunglasses do meet the ANSI Z87.1 standard.
Some do some don’t, yep
Anyone have a recommendation for prescription lens eye protection?
Smith safety glasses
WileyX Milspec lenses or ESS that are made by Oakley I believe - eyes are too important not to protect
Easy bro I got you Oakley m frames
Next video should be on different hearing protection. Electronic, Bluetooth, etc....

Spent half the video talking about safety like we’re in a work meeting.
All the other info was good though. Thanks!
Super g’s osha approved safety glasses I get mine from a buddy that works for Kendall tree service
I don’t wear ppe still watching tho
I hope someone informed this guy that Oakley makes safety glasses and the look good like Oakley's and they cost in the hundreds. 😎😎😎
Most Oakley’s are Z87+ rated. Thanks tough.
Every time I see someone without glasses on I cringe 😂 I also see some guy the other day wearing sandals 💀
Haha yeah man not smart!
Edge Eyewear seem like good safety glasses.
