So people had to leave their homes overnight, leaving everything behind. Around 7Million people are believed to be migrated from Pakistan to India, and around same number for India to Pakistan, and 1 Million people are believed to be killed in the process😧. Even my family came from an area which today is in pakistan.
It's pretty straight forward but the actual emotion lies in the song and particularly in the feeling of partition.. we lost countless people from our families.. the struggle to outst brits from our land was harsh and is unforgetable. So here in India & Pak if you see this ad you do get teary eyed. Till today both our countries are tied to each other by our language, culture and ethnicity yet apart due to security reasons! We're so similar yet so different. But in the end the world should remember we are two siblings quarelling and whoever tries to intervene will get no actual benefit from this endless fight.

All 4 of my grandparents came to India as refugees from Pakistan. They still long to see their houses, their lands, their friends. I have actually shown my grand parents the map of their respective cities so many times. And they would point out their schools and parks where they would go to play. My Nani actually used to stay near Mochi Gate in Lahore. This video gets me everytime.
At first I was real surprised that Rick didn't start crying when the friends met....but then it occurred to me that maybe you or your near and dear ones have never faced a situation like partition before(may you never do)..... leaving a place where you lived all your lives, maybe even your grandfather was born there... with neighbors who were like family and the village or city you called your own...being forced to leave everything just like that....... People had to leave overnight to some place where they knew nothing.....and to start everything right from the scratch.... to deal with the pain...the loss...the hopelessness.... And then suddenly meeting someone from their fond memories....I guess you will not understand.. and I hope you never have to

All my grandparents were from Sadabarat Roopnagar (Ropar) in Indian Punjab, they never got to visit back and were moved over night to Pakistan leaving everything behind, they used to remember all the memories and placed from their village but sadly never got to re-visit.

But it was such an exciting moment for me too. I last saw him when I was in 5th class. Now I'm in my final year of Engg. ❤️
