- Playing through the first stage of LJN's Beetlejuice, I started asking myself something. "Did LJN make a decent licensed game and put it on the Gameboy?" Well, I'm an idiot because of course the first stage ends and Beetlejuice is the same old crap that the developer always puts out. If you're masochist enough to make it to stage 4, there's a mine cart stage that will make you pull your hair out. It's terrible. And to top it off, THERE'S A FREAKING SLIDE PUZZLE AS THE BOSS OF IT!!! The English language doesn't have words to describe my fury at the end of this game. There's a final stage where you ride a sandworm like a slinky that is just the poop cherry on top. Wish I could send LJN to the Neitherealm...
"Beetlejuice: The Animated Series" is a fun and quirky animated TV show that aired from 1989 to 1991. It was loosely based on the 1988 live-action film "Beetlejuice" directed by Tim Burton. The series follows the adventures of the mischievous and eccentric ghost, Beetlejuice, and his best friend, Lydia Deetz, a goth teenage girl with a fascination for the strange and unusual.
The show is set in two main worlds: the "Real World," where Lydia lives with her family, and the "Neitherworld," a bizarre and whimsical afterlife filled with strange creatures and odd landscapes, where Beetlejuice resides. The episodes often revolve around the duo's escapades in both worlds, dealing with various supernatural and surreal situations.
Beetlejuice is portrayed as a zany and sometimes gross trickster who loves pulling pranks and getting into trouble, but he genuinely cares for Lydia. Lydia, on the other hand, is the more level-headed of the two, often coming up with solutions to the problems Beetlejuice causes.
The show's humor is a mix of dark comedy, slapstick, and puns, making it appealing to both children and adults. The animation style is colorful and exaggerated, reflecting the offbeat nature of the series. Unlike the movie, the animated series is more family-friendly, focusing on the friendship between Beetlejuice and Lydia rather than the darker themes of the film.
