  • Another one of my favorite feints to do! Fake low and go high! Just make sure you set it up first! Key points to remember:
    1. Make your opponent think about the leg kick first! Set them up by throwing multiple leg kicks!
    2. VERY IMPORTANT! As you throw your leg out to fake the leg kick, be sure to be on your toes and open up your hip in order to turn it into a head kick!
    3. The mechanics of the head kick are exactly the same as throwing a regular head kick by itself.

Thanks for this vid. I've been seeing this kick on taekwondo techniques but you've explained it thoroughly for a Muay Thai style. Liked and subscribed

This video is pretty badass. I saw some guys at my gym do this a couple of times during sparring. I will now work on this.

Hey there, just found your channel, great vids! Do you have a "How to Throw a leg kick" tutorial? Just the most basic of basic leg kicks. I really want to work on my technique for that kick so a breakdown would be awesome... and since your vids are so good.

Can you do a tutorial on the Muay Thai spinning "hook" kick/reverse roundhouse kick (jarake fad hang, or "crocodile whips its tail")? I know it's a relatively obscure technique that's not used too much in modern incarnations of Thai boxing, but I've seen it used effectively a good handful of times in Thai bouts, often scoring KOs.

Why not just leg kick and then look down but throw a head kick instead that freeze motion? It seems awkward when I try it with that pause in between the move.

Leg kicking then looking down and throwing a head kick would work as well, however that is not what this technique entails. When the technique is done full speed against a target then there is no pause/freeze in between. It requires quite a bit of flexibility in the hips because you have to turn your hip up and over as its in midair. But trust that this technique works, I pull it off all the time and have also taught it to numerous people.
