Sb your kicking ass an taking names bud iv fallen behind on vids had my own issues with my to be wife an my baby girl to be born in oct 2019 but ill love watching you an your adventures man with your friend james
We used to live on Candlewood. The best fishing in CT is actually if you just drive around with a map and Mapquest and try out the hundreds of little lakes and ponds all over the state. Even little roadside streams can produce good fish.
You guys should drive a couple hours north of Michigan and try fishing in Ontario, Canada. There is over 250,000 lakes on the province, most of which don’t receive heavy fishing pressure.
Was scrolling through UA-cam and saw the ominous echo lake dilapidated boat so I had to watch. I know echo like the back of my hand, biggest I’ve got there is 6-7lbs… they are in there. Wakeboats ruin it May-September anyway. Day tripping to candlewood soon I’ve heard lots of mixed stuff about it.
Never fished Candlewood but i think it's one of those places you need to put your time in on with electronics finding off shore structure when it comes to the smallmouth
Echo lake is amazing! While you were there, you should have hit Wilson's Resevoir just down the road. Nics fish in there too!! I grew up in Pascoag and I definitely miss it up there. By the way, Pascoag is pronounced Pass-co almost like do not pass go, do not collect $200 lol
I've got Small (3 acre] Pond on my land, right behind my house actually, & we have Large Mouth Bass, White & Black Crappie, Catfish, Several different species of Bluegill/Brim/Sunfish...& a few Huge Grass Carp to keep it clean, and alot of them are decent size. That's where I do most of my fishing, but I would love to go to different places & especially the Ocean, if I could find calmer water (I get Seasick, Big Time!), so I am living Vicariously through you, Thank you.
The wind has been making it so difficult to fish my home lake too. Hard to hold a spot or even get to where you wanna be. Hopefully the weather pattern changes up soon.
I could swear those were actually northern pike that you caught. They are definitely different than chain pickerel. James, you're the expert and chief prognosticater (that's not a dirty word), what do you think?
Come to Lake Catoma In Cullman Alabama you would not regret it giant spotted bass and giant large mouth it’s only a 25 Horse lake it would make a great video I could put you on some 4 and 5 pound spots
Matt, nice job on your tour! What are the plans with the tour boat? Can you do a tour of the boat and let us know what you liked and what you would improve on it. I'm also looking for a fishfinder and trolling motor upgrade. Advice on your gear would be appreciated. Thanks!
Maybe the first time I’ve ever heard someone use Cheerwine to describe the color of something. It’s such a regional thing that most people probably have no idea what it is.
Hey dude...google earth you can roll back the date and look at images on dif. Months and dif years. Enough digging you can find the lake when its drawn down to find lots of structure. Be a good video idea also.
Everyone thought this was going to be a series about traveling and fishing but it turned out it was just a documentary on James' growth as a fisherman haha love it!
James has DEFINITELY become a better fisherman since the beginning of the trip, he’s looking like Babe Winkelman Jr 😃 You did a great job teaching him.
RI isnt the best for its freshwater but its amazing for saltwater striped bass Edit: I also thought it was just me but Rhode is like the grayest state ever, i live here too

Getting close to the finish line!!!
Can’t wait for the jersey video!
I don't want this tour to end
If you go back to CT look up lake Saltinstall. It’s water company property but with easy to get permit it’s loaded.
Definitely swing by Candlewood again...that place can go either way. It can be an absolute grind or an epic beat down.
I got to cannelwood all the time. Good fish
You guys should drive a couple hours north of Michigan and try fishing in Ontario, Canada.

Definitely go back
You are doing good when UA-cam puts 4 commercials on your videos. Just like cable tv!
another dope video
That looked like fun dude

Idk how much more bass fishing I can watch...

You should do a compilation video of james’ transformation as the trip went along. He’s become such a great fisherman.
That was a little better on the hook sets James lol.
Come back to Connecticut, it’s hard fishing here
I saw you on desert island
You need to go to beaver pond in ct
Nice video lake lillanoah is another good lake to fish and it's not to far from candlewood.
The wind has been making it so difficult to fish my home lake too. Hard to hold a spot or even get to where you wanna be. Hopefully the weather pattern changes up soon.
Matt meet me in New York, lake Champlain end of June! We can get on some smallies!
I could swear those were actually northern pike that you caught. They are definitely different than chain pickerel. James, you're the expert and chief prognosticater (that's not a dirty word), what do you think?
When you go to pa go to lake raystown
My home state, CT!!
You gotta get up to Maine and New Hampshire
i saw your van rig in acadia near sand beach in the parking lot.
Echo is normally crystal clear. I dont know why its so stained this year. There is crappies in there too.
Go to lake rays town in Pennsylvania it hold some of the biggest fish in pa
still getting it
Most of those lakes with the HP restrictions let you use your trolling motor instead of your gas. A couple lakes around here are electric motor only.
Come to Lake Catoma In Cullman Alabama you would not regret it giant spotted bass and giant large mouth it’s only a 25 Horse lake it would make a great video I could put you on some 4 and 5 pound spots
Candlewood is a Great Lake to fish but can be tough. Hit me up the next time you come here and I’ll put you on some fish.
Can I fish with you?
Both bill Lewis and cotton Cordell would like to point out that bill makes traps and Cordell makes spots.
Matt, nice job on your tour! What are the plans with the tour boat? Can you do a tour of the boat and let us know what you liked and what you would improve on it. I'm also looking for a fishfinder and trolling motor upgrade. Advice on your gear would be appreciated. Thanks!
Come fish the Great Lakes; much better than candlewood!
Maybe the first time I’ve ever heard someone use Cheerwine to describe the color of something. It’s such a regional thing that most people probably have no idea what it is.

Lets go!!!
Nice nice
14:44 that was such a dad joke 😂 but then again this video is getting posted on Father’s Day so it makes sense
Can’t get enough of these videos. Do another tour lmao.
When you goin to come to Arkansas?
Sad it’s almost over🤧
You guys ever coming to Wisconsin?
FRESHIE!!
No more muskie fishing?
Man now that's a good friend that you would let James just wipe that fish slim of on ya hand. True pal. hahahaha
I wish you’d let me take you out in jersey
Everyone thought this was going to be a series about traveling and fishing but it turned out it was just a documentary on James' growth as a fisherman haha love it!
James is getting better at fishing looks like. Good job guys
Windy!!!!
James is finding the big ones, Matt. The chatter-bait seems to be working for him. Good luck on the next lake.
Should of fished the road bed at echo
don't think i missed it but has James landed a muskie yet?
Hey guys. Did you ever solve your ‘leak’ issue with the boat?
aren't there 4 states left? PA, NJ, DE, MD. did i miss an episode?? (contiguous states, that is)
I understand completely with struggling in the wind with a Jon. Looks like yall caught some nice ones.
did i miss PA?
When are you guys going to be in Pennsylvania and where are you going to fish at.
The evolution of James has been legitimately fun to watch. Keep up the great work, fellas!
Did you fish Illinois?
James has DEFINITELY become a better fisherman since the beginning of the trip, he’s looking like Babe Winkelman Jr 😃 You did a great job teaching him.
Keep having fun enjoy the shows
It seems like James is becoming a better angler by the day and i must say its awesome
After the states are you going to do territories?
You have to come back here to Candlewood. Once the summer starts the fishing is fire.
94k!
Still fun to watch, thanks guys!
What carpet do you use on your deck man?
I love seeing James’s progression it’s so awesome. Good for you man. And great job teaching him bro.
Come back to CT in the fall, hit candlewood, the Farmington, and the shoreline! Literally every type of fishing you could ask for
Are you hitting NY?
I just placed 3rd in a tournament on Candlewood yesterday :) Cool to see someone finally fish in Connecticut.
I hope that guy didn’t jump up on plane with his trolling motor down.
Hey Matt just wanted to let you know the pan fish you caught in the beginning is called a pumpkinseed
Glad you got to salvage some footage. Definitely added some lakes to my bucket list.
Nice... GoPros save the footage again!
RI isnt the best for its freshwater but its amazing for saltwater striped bass
Edit: I also thought it was just me but Rhode is like the grayest state ever, i live here too
Candlewood kind of sucks to be honest i don't know why everyone told you to go there lol
Howie Feltersnatch it’s ranked 20 in the us for big bass
