- I'm back from AdeptiCon 2024 - the largest miniature wargaming convention in the U.S. and I've got BOOTY.
MEK28: berserkerworks...
Flames of Orion: underthedice.c...
Cauldron: hillgiant.itch...
Vince Venturella and I made a 'zine! Check out SNARL at www.snarlingbad...

"Behold! My stuff!"
Missed an opportunity! 'Behold, my Booty!!' 😂
The Mechs were commissioned by itswhatevan and sculpted by Ana Polanšćak, AKA Gardens of Hecate. The resin versions are new, cast by Ramshackle Games - Curtis doesn’t like wasting resin, hence the sprue gate being a scenic wreck! The idea of a scannable QR code linking to BattleTech Mech sheets was all Evan’s idea. ❤ Was good to meet you! - Slug Wizard
I *thought* Ana sculpted those, but I wasn’t 100% sure. Thanks for letting me know. Thanks for watching!
Gotta say, nobody gets me quite as excited about being involved in the indie wargaming scene as you.
Facts
Thanks for stopping by the BLKOUT booth! Glad you picked up the dusters they’re a lot of fun! We just released “Handlers” who are the pilots of the dusters!
BLKOUT rocks 🤘
This year was my first Adepticon, grabbed a quick selfie with you at the Under The Dice booth. I expected it to be a weekend of mild partying and playing 40k, and I ended up meeting all the Grimdark Hallway denizens by way of the Brush Wielders Union. I got home feeling fired up to do some cool hobby stuff in a way I've never been before.
AdeptiCon will certainly do that to you. Thanks for watching!
I love Fireforges’ miniatures. The sergeants box set is great and the pictures for the first edition Frostgrave rulebook, outside of the wizards and monsters, are Fireforge. Great stuff.
I've picked up a good amount of their figures, including their Peasant Rabble. Great modularity and so many extra bits for conversions. One of my favorite companies.
@@johnmcconnell9979 great models for conversions.
Fireforge Games has a large range of historical miniatures both hard plastic and resin. Forgotten World is basically their fantasy range. I have a couple of medieval troops from them and while they are nothing fancy you have quite some options and the kits are mostly interchangable.
Fireforge has been around for a long time. A good portion of my Crusades army is made up from their kits.
Digging the Hatebreed inspired shirt.
Genuinely suprised that you havent heard of fireforge before now. They are like the holy trinity of 3rd party plastics with Wargames Atlantic and Warlord
Was good seeing you there, Adam! Thanks for the information regarding airbrushes and airbrush cabinets!
It was great to see you again Adam!
Absolutely! I’m hoping that someone will run MEK28 at TMX - that’d be very cool. Thanks for watching!
Fireforge Peasant Rabble are great for kit bashing with Frostgrave. I have some weathering pencils from AK but I've never been too sure on how best to use them. I bought Huge miniatures crackle paste last year and love it.
The artwork and Typography in the Cauldron book is fantastic.
Hey! Thanks for picking up a box of our MorkBorg minis! Cheers - Kawe@Westfalia :--)
those duster mechs ROCK!
Yeah they do
Fireforge minis make great stuff. Anyone who wants knights for their fantasy armies should have a look - the knightly orders stuff in their historical ranges are amazing.
Are they heroic scale?
@@Mikey__R they’re chunkier than a lot of more realistically proportioned historical minis - closer to old GW bretonnians than Perry stuff, for example
I dig the Hatebreed style logo under the dice is using.
Same here. Definitely gonna have to pick one up.
Awesome seeing our work on your channel :) @wyrmforge here checking in! You sure got some nice goodies there
Pleasure meeting you drop in next year!
Missed Adepticon this year, but will confirm that it is an amazing experience. Even met Uncle Adam last year!
What a lot of pretty things! You make me a little envious, here in Spain, it is difficult to find people who are interested in more than a certain game about war and hammers, so gathering several thousand people to get them to play indie games sounds like a dream.
Also, I discovered a couple of games thanks to this video! I especially liked Cauldron and Flames of Orion (I love that Laserburn flavored cover)
I appreciate your integrity in erring on the side of caution in regards to this being a paid promotion. Great video! Thank you for making these.
I agree that Adepticon is awesome! Love the games but the venderhaul is amazing. Always treasures to be found there for sure.
Had the pleasure of meeting you ta the army painter stand. Great day overall!
ESS has BLACKOUT set in the Killwager universe. It’s the UN’s first colony so there are people that live on ABDOL, but now mega corps have show up to exploit the resources. I love the universe and the way they write rules…I did even provide some fiction for the universe, but I am not sure if it’s been published yet.
Hell yeah 🤘
I really enjoy the "loot haul" videos. Thanks for sharing your bounty!
That green 3d Printed thing is a Shifting Stone from Warmachine's Circle Orboros faction almost perfectly scaled up.
Fireforge Games are fantastic. I have multiple of their medieval boxes and am going to get into their samurai line this month.
Yeah, you could really feel the number of people this year.
The QR code for the mechs took me to a cool page. 4:50 More companies should do that with their miniatures!
itswhatevan is a smarty-pants, that was all his idea
Honestly impressed by your restraint. I would love to go to Adepticon but being in the UK I'll have to settle for Salute in 2 weeks time. It's only a one day event but it's in it's 51st year and is run by South London Warlords gaming club making it the biggest independent wargaming Con in Europe. We get Mantic, Warlord, Asmodee UK and some of the other big UK companies (no GW) but I should see a lot of local gaming clubs and indie companies. Really looking forward to it and they had close to 10,000 attendees last year.
Hey man, I'm from the UK...got back from Adepticon yesterday ;)
I’ve heard of it - maybe some year I’ll get to go. Have fun, and thanks for watching!
Make sure to stop by Oathsworn Minis! They’re my favorite small Uk shop (I’m a US customer but I have bought from them several times)
The large green pillar you got is a Shifting Stone from Privateer Press’s Hordes. There are 3 to a unit for the Circle Orboros faction.
Interesting - because I know I didn’t get it from the Privateer Press booth… that both was near the back of the vendor hall. Weird. Thanks for watching!
Forgotten World came out a few years ago. It's a fairly generic fantasy campaign that started off with undead and knights. I backed the Kickstarter when it first launched.
The Rook is Cities of Sigmar. Con exclusive figure.
That bright green fdm terrain looks like a shifting stone from warmachine/hordes circle orboros.
Wow that Blkout game looks amazing. My wallet is looking at me in fear.
Definitely check it out and it's way cheaper than most tabletop games. Nice simple rules to.
I love all Tabletop Minions videos!
That 3d printed obelisk is a larger version of a Circle of Orboros shifting stones from Warmachine
Well adepticon booty didn’t mean what I thought it did.
Oh man that Blackout game looked awesome, already looking into their website and thinking about grabbing the starter set.
BLKOUT sounds right up my alley. Near future sci-fi with mega corps and mechs definitely sounds like a bit of me.
Also, great to see a sticker from Bill Making Stuff in the collection.
Awesome video.
loving the under the dice tee
greetings from the grimdark hallway
Those weathering pencils sound amazing!!! Blkout sounds interesting. Downloaded the mech games to check them out! Also, for those interested, Breachstorm is another free ruleset.
I've seen that Mercs and WarZone Eternal are making comebacks! I've never played them but they used to get a lot of coverage and then disappeared.
Definitely check out BLKOUT brother
Going to go check out the indie zine style games right now - much more interested in those than whatever the big companies are up to
glad you liked the hat!
It’s great, thanks again!
Thx for the Podcast "under the hive".
AND i was exited to hear u buy from westphalia! Thats my Home Region. 🎉
“You find stuff that you didn’t know you wanted and then you pick it up” I feel that..
It was my first Adepticon and boy howdy was I pleased with my haul!!
Was looking forward to this Atom!
A Hatebreed miniatures T shirt is not what I expected
great video! love the aesthetic for BLKOUT, got some minis for that game and I'm excited to get some games in!
Painting mine now
Always great seeing you and chatting! Cant wait for next year!
Thanks for sharing.
The big green printed thing looks like a shifting stone model from Privateer Press (Hordes - Circle Orboros originally).
"Professor, what's another word for pirate treasure?" I'd love to get to AdeptiCon some day, so thanks for sharing your haul!
I love that huge miniatures grit. I also love their paint.
Here’s an idea for those Wyrmforge minis: Verrotwood, a very cool medieval folk horror skirmish game. Trust me, it’s TMA 2024 material. There is now a weird Wild West version too.
I’ve seen it on Wargame Vault, but haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. I think Ash at Guerrilla Miniature Games did a batrep for it, tho. Thanks for watching!
Anyone know a European equivalent to Adepticon? I'd love to go to a similar convention sometime.
Don’t know about continental Europe (although I’m sure Germany will have some big board games focussed ones), but in the UK, UK Games Expo (general gaming including board games, RPGs and Wargames) and Salute (more Wargames focussed) are both big events.
I'm not in Europe, but I believe Salute in the UK is similar. Lots of cool tables from videos I've seen.
I really like all the booty you brought back. Really interested in the mech games and models!
I am excited to bring Flames of Orion and End Transmission to TMX.
It's gonna be great - I'm looking forward to it. It was great to see you again at AdeptiCon, too. Thanks for watching!
I would very much love to hear your thoughts of the GW Adepticon reveal program. Also.. MOAR BOOTY!
Nice Hatebreed, I mean under the dice shirt.
Awesome stuff!
Good stuff! I picked up the Hanging Trees, Archie and Carver from Wyrd miniatures Iconic line and 3D printed terrain Castograd Kickstarter Set from the War Terrain booth. It was a lot fun and a great time!
Would love to see a video about using the pencils, I'm curious how that applies to modeling
Blkout looks great. At 9:34
It's dope
BlkOut is a fantastic game and setting. I'm looking forward to hearing your take on it once you've played a few games.
I love all tabletop minion stuff.👏👍🤙
Nice haul. 👍
I'd love to hear you discuss how you find the gameplay of some of those small titles like Cauldron. All sound really cool.
Awesome haul my friend!!!
Also, any company that pays homage to the band Hatebreed with their shirts is rad in my book. Keep it up Under The Dice!!!
Once again you are saving me money by giving me the dopamine hit of loot without me having to travel and shop, thank you kindly.
Welcome back Uncle Atom. How was the presentation for your game? Show us the terrain you made ! 😊🎉
There’s a clip of Vince explaining the rules to the 30 players who came to “Tanks” for the Apocalypse in this video. I’ll have to talk about it in the Every Other Sunday show perhaps. Thanks for watching!
9:43 yeah it's there second game their first was very much spiecal fforces fighting terroists which I have their first one and it's really good the models are exclent and so are the rules... So yeah I really need to pick up blackout as I loved the titian fall games thatnk for reminded me of them!
By the sound of your voice, sounds like it was a lot of work and some good fun. But mostly work. It's OK, in three weeks, you will only remember the fun parts! Thanks for sharing your rewards and purchases.
Oof! That "paid promotion" indicator mention was very meta since I noticed it immediately
«This is the Steel Rook, an alternate Arch-Knight for the Freeguild Command Corps.» that from The warcom page 😁 so The cool AoS mini is a cities of sigmar model 😁 since u said u didnt know which faction it was ☺️✌🏻 great video as always! 😁
I picked up the same Healer's House at Adepticon, but mine has the interior as well. Sad I missed that green pylon, I'll have to look for it online. I did have a blast at the Adepticup Armies on Parade with my Circle Orboros display, even if I knew I'd have no chance against the insane displays that the Warhammer guys do.
Have you heard of Idols of Torment? I picked it up at Adepticon. I think you would like the dark theme and aesthetics and different game play. Plus you always like Miniatures agnostic games. I got to meet you and you signed my Reign in Hell. Never caught up with Vince! Thanks for being a nice dude!
I think the like button animation is somehow autogenerated from youtube when you say phrases like "click the like button" - as they generate subtitles they know when you say it and trigger the animation
Somebody likes mechs. :)
Mechs are awesome (but silly - they’re so impractical) and I’m glad there’s cool games out there I can play with them besides Battletech. Thanks for watching!
Maybe next year I'll go to Adepticon by myself to just see some cool stuff and spend too much money lol
I'm going to have to go looking for rhe Grim Dark hallway next year. Amazing to take three or four passes of the same vendor hall and saw none of those games or products.
I love and want the rook knight model. Hoping to find one at a decent price
Historicon used to hit over 15k before they started moving it around in the mid aughts, granted it does have a focus on HISTORICAL miniatures and miniature wargaming...
I had no idea it was that big - that's huge. Thanks for watching!
Great stuff! Can those watercolor pencils edge highlight? I'd give anything to make that and Harlequin diamonds easier.
CAULDRON IS AWESOME! ABC, ALWAYS BE CLOBBERING!
the green obelisk thing is Eldar!! why are you touching it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :P
that Cauldren game, i want a giant warty toad army.
Shout out to Elrik's Hobbies!
Looks almost like minimum 6 ft isles rather then 9 ft standard
I got that pylon too! $6! Great deal.
From that title I was expecting Sam Lenz, Vince Venturella, Ninjon, and Minions here to all be twerking in leather chaps.
My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is now ruined.
Nice booty video Uncle Atom, i love that you review and promote the underdog companies, thanks to you ive got into one page rules grimdark future. 😉👌
AK Interactive has a whole line of weathering pencils. Good stuff. Trick is to wet them and use the pencil like an applicator.
Cool vid thanks 😊
Is that a hatebreed parody shirt?!
The links for MEK28 and Cauldron don’t work when I click on them. No problem with Flames of Orion. Any suggestions?
You can get the urban base scatter material for free if you use refillable water filters…
3:47 Not really only isf moeny changed hands though you have to disclose it in the video regardless... Like I have gotten thusends of videos games as review copies and never pressed that switch but also said "I got this review copy from a dev" and never got into trouble nore have any one in gaming press be it video of TT.
Steel Rook looks like a winner for Turnip28!
It certainly has a Turnip vibe, yes. Thanks for watching!
How many days in the gym does it take to get that Adepticon booty?
Pick up the Forgotten World 2 player starter set at Adventure Games.
Bouty looty
